Miss Granger Advises Me To Stop Study
Chapter 127: The Sudden Attack of The Dementor.

Chapter 127: The Sudden Attack of The Dementor.

"No matter whether Sirius Black really wants Harry's life or not, at least he's caused us a lot of trouble!"

The seven of them were sitting in the library around a table reading. During their break, Ron put down his book and said angrily.

Harry, sitting next to him, nodded vigorously, "It's quite a mess."

Hermione looked at her two friends, who were both fuming, a bit confused. "What's wrong with you two? Sirius Black didn't even manage to get into the Gryffindor common room, so he shouldn't have done anything, right?"

"He didn't do anything," Ron's emotions flared up for a moment, but considering they were in the library, he quickly calmed down and lowered his voice, glancing towards the portrait of the Fat Lady. "But because of him, the portrait at the entrance to the Gryffindor common room isn't the Fat Lady anymore; it's now Sir Cadogan and his little pony."

"Merlin beard, he changes the password several times a day and is always dueling with other portraits. He won't listen to you when you try to say the password properly."

"He even invited us to duel; I really don't know how we could duel with a portrait."

Harry grimaced, "He probably wants us to blast him out of the portrait with a spell, if that's even possible."

The four girls, except for Lin Yue, chuckled softly, while she herself spoke with a neutral expression. "Arrogant, self-centered, and quite irresponsible."

"What?" Hermione put away her smile and asked Lin Yue, her voice still tinged with amusement.

Lin Yue turned to look at Hermione and replied in a flat voice, "Based on Sir Cadogan's aforementioned behavior, he has an arrogant and self-centered personality and is not very responsible towards his work."

"I personally estimate that there is a high probability he will make mistakes at work."

"Mistakes at work? What does that refer to? Forgetting the password he designed himself?"

Cho Chang looked at Lin Yue uncertainly and asked curiously.

"That's one possibility."

Lin Yue nodded indifferently, "There are many other types of mistakes."

"Well... one day we will not be able to return to the dormitory."

Ron leaned back in his chair, looking exhausted, and said in despair, "Just think positively, Ron," Harry said, rubbing his chest. "If we can't get in, then Sirius Black definitely can't get in either."

"Oh, what a great comfort, Harry," Ron waved his hand dismissively. "We're stuck outside the Gryffindor common room with Sirius Black. Just think about how cheerful that is."

"Merlin!" Hermione chuckled and patted his shoulder, " Ron that terrible situation hasn't happened yet, so let's think positively."

"Maybe Sir Cadogan just hasn't adjusted yet; he might change in the future."

"That's definitely a possibility, right, Lin Yue?"

Lin Yue paused for a moment and nodded, "Yes, the possibility of anything happening is never completely zero."

However, based on her calculations, the likelihood of Sir Cadogan making a correction was even smaller than the chance of Sirius Black suddenly popping out to turn himself in. It was a pitiful 0.15%.

"Alright, let me see the homework you guys worked on all night."

Hermione casually pulled the homework in front of Harry and Ron and began to check it without any hesitation.

The two boys quickly jumped up from their chairs, wanting to stop her, but they were already too late.

"Wow..."

Hermione frowned deeply at the writing on the parchment. "I had no idea you two would be in such a terrible situation next week?"

She looked at Ron with a complicated expression. "You're going to be stung by a wasp next week? Where would there be wasps at Hogwarts?"

Then she turned to Harry. "You're going to be dragged underwater and drowned by the giant squid in the Black Lake next week?"

"The giant squid wouldn't do that. They are gentle creatures and would even help little wizards who accidentally fall into the lake," Penelope chimed in from the side to explain about the giant squid, then stood up and walked over to Hermione to take a look at the boys' homework, raising an eyebrow.

"But if you were writing about Divination homework, then it wouldn't be a problem."

"Yes, the homework for that class isn't about what you've learned; it's about how miserable you can make yourself."

You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author.

Cho Chang, who had taken a semester of Divination, replied with a gloomy expression.

"Make yourself miserable? What does that mean?"

Hermione shook the two pieces of parchment in her hand, not quite understanding why homework was less about what you learned and more about how miserable you could make yourself.

"Professor Trelawney won't carefully read your homework or consider whether these things could actually happen; she only cares if you claim that something bad is going to happen to you next."

"If you say so, she thinks you've succeeded in divination and will give you a high score."

Marietta shrugged as she explained, "I once took a semester of Divination with Cho, just last year."

"Merlin, at that time we almost thought of every possible way we could die, and before the school year ended, we quickly dropped the class."

Lin Yue turned to look at the two older students upon hearing this. So that was it; it seemed that the nearly impossible ways of dying she had casually glimpsed at were actually their way of dealing with the Divination homework.

She had thought they were estimating all their possible deaths and ranking them from most to least likely in order to avoid the more probable ones and ensure their safety.

"Alright." Hermione clicked her tongue, once again thanking the older students for dissuading her and Lin Yue from taking the Divination class. Thanks to their advice, they hadn't chosen it.

"You all keep making things up; I can give you one too—an asteroid hitting the Earth. That would definitely be miserable."

"What is that?" Ron, who came from a magical background, asked curiously.

Next to him, Cho, Marietta, and Penelope all looked puzzled, while Harry couldn't help but twitch his lips.

"That is indeed miserable..."

"It's a type of catastrophic disaster," Lin Yue explained in a flat voice to her friends from the magical world, "a moving asteroid in the universe can also be understood as a massive rock."

"If it collides with Earth from outside, and if the asteroid is large enough, it can cause a mass extinction of species on Earth."

"Oh..." Ron's face looked troubled for a moment, "I bet Professor Trelawney would love this."

Lin Yue blinked, and her brain began to automatically calculate how much magic power would be needed to achieve such an effect with magic, as well as whether she could bear such a magic consumption. A vast number of formulas raced through her mind, and even she took a full two minutes to arrive at a conclusion.

The result was that the magic power was sufficient to drag a small asteroid, but not enough to protect anyone other than herself while doing so. Therefore, the usability of this magic was zero.

After making the judgment, Lin Yue pushed this calculation result, along with the possible spells and incantation gestures, deep into her mind and lowered her head to seriously work on her homework.

Life at Hogwarts passed in the daily grind of the Gryffindor little wizards. In the midst of being tormented by Sir Cadogan, the only thing that could slightly ease their mood was the upcoming Quidditch match.

"Do you want to go watch the match with me?"

After finishing her breakfast, Lin Yue put down her knife and fork and heard Hermione's voice beside her.

Turning to look at Hermione, Lin Yue saw her expectant gaze. Although her face showed no expression, there was no hesitation in her words.

"Okay."

Hearing this, Hermione broke into a radiant smile. So far, Lin Yue's life had become increasingly relaxed, and she was finally starting to return to normal.

Lin Yue set down her knife and fork, stood up, and followed Hermione. Cho Chang, Marietta, and Penelope exchanged glances, silently agreeing not to follow them.

Today was not a Ravenclaw match, so they didn't have to go watch, mainly because... none of them wanted to disturb Hermione and Lin Yue.

It was better to let the two of them spend some quality time together.

However, seeing the heavy rain outside, Penelope and Cho Chang instinctively took out their wands and cast a waterproof charm on Lin Yue and Hermione.

Lin Yue and Hermione turned back at the same time to thank their seniors.

As they walked out of Hogwarts Castle, the charm completely shielded the two girls from the rain.

Glancing at Hermione's thin summer robe, Lin Yue also took out her wand and cast a warming charm for both herself and Hermione.

"Thank you, Lin Yue."

Hermione felt the warmth on her body and smiled as she linked arms with Lin Yue beside her.

"The weather today is really not great."

She frowned deeply as she looked ahead, her view blocked by the heavy rain. "No wonder the Slytherin team is trying every possible excuse to swap today's match with Hufflepuff and Gryffindor."

Lin Yue nodded without any change in her expression, instinctively pondering in her mind.

Using any means to achieve their goals is indeed the style of Slytherin, at least it's much wiser than their mindless adherence to blood purity.

Following Hermione, Lin Yue sat in the stands and barely managed to see the two teams shaking hands on the Quidditch pitch through the rain curtain.

The loud commentary from the field rang out, and the match officially began.

The players from both sides quickly soared into the sky, and Lin Yue's gaze locked onto Harry, keeping a close watch on him.

After experiencing the Quidditch matches of the past two years, Lin Yue wasn't sure if this year's Quidditch match would have any incidents.

But being cautious is always a good idea.

"No, the rain is too heavy," Hermione shook her hair, letting the raindrops slide off completely, but thanks to the spell, her hair didn't get wet. "Harry clearly can't see anything."

"His glasses," Lin Yue said decisively.

"Yes." Hermione pressed her lips together, her gaze anxiously following the players of Gryffindor.

As soon as she heard Wood call for a timeout, she quickly grabbed Lin Yue and ran down from the stands.

"Waterproof and moisture-proof."

Before Harry could react, Hermione had already drawn her wand and pointed it at his glasses.

"Oh!"

Harry was momentarily stunned before he reacted, "I just said the rain is too heavy and I can't see clearly, thank you, Hermione."

"You're welcome, good luck, Harry."

Hermione shook her head, braving the heavy rain as she pulled Lin Yue back to the stands of the Quidditch pitch, preparing to take her back to their seats.

The players took to the air again, and Lin Yue listened to the cheers and shouts around her.

Her eyes quickly scanned the surrounding stands, a vague feeling lingering in her heart.

It seemed she had overlooked something, she had overlooked something... she had overlooked something...

The Quidditch match had many people present, and everyone was very happy.

Sirius Black had escaped from prison, and the area around Hogwarts was filled with Dementors on guard.

Two seemingly unrelated pieces of information rapidly combined in Lin Yue's mind.

Her heart trembled violently, and she grabbed Hermione's hand, recklessly running towards the stands where Professor Dumbledore and the other professors were.

"Lin Yue, what's wrong? Where are you taking me?"

Hermione shouted in confusion, trying to raise her voice above the sound of the rain. Although she was puzzled, she still ran along, closely following Lin.

"There are too many happy people gathered at the Quidditch pitch, and there are Dementors patrolling the area. They can't resist their instincts and are very likely to come over and pose a threat."

Lin Yue pulled Hermione along as they ran quickly, her voice still incredibly steady and emotionless, as if she wasn't even running.

"What?!"

Hermione was taken aback for a moment, but then immediately understood what Lin Yue meant. Her expression became serious, and her pace quickened even more.

They rushed up to the stands where the professors were seated, the sound of their footsteps echoing as the professors turned to look at the two girls who had just run up.

"Is there no space in the other stands?" Professor Sprout asked gently.

Professor McGonagall also smiled kindly and waved her hand, "The match won't end for a while yet, girls. There's no need to rush."

"That's not... that's not it, Professor..."

Hermione was running a bit out of breath, and her speech was somewhat disjointed. She patted Lin Yue, signaling her to speak, and made up her mind to start balancing her exercise routine.

Lin Yue's breathing was also extremely rapid, but she forcefully controlled her breath and spoke with a very steady tone.

"There are too many people in the Quidditch pitch, everyone is very happy, which will attract the Dementors patrolling nearby."

As soon as she finished speaking, Professor McGonagall and Professor Sprout's expressions changed dramatically, and they turned to look at Principal Dumbledore, who was sitting in the middle.

Principal Dumbledore stood up suddenly, "Thank you for your reminder, Miss Lin Yue. This is something we overlooked."

After he finished speaking, he raised his hand and pointed to the sky, " Expecto..."

However, before he could finish, a gasp erupted as Harry, surrounded by three Dementors, went limp and fell directly to the ground.

Under the cover of the rain, no one noticed the approach of the Dementors, not even Harry himself.

By the time he realized it, it was already too late.

" Arresto Momentum!" Professor Dumbledore forcefully altered the spell, pointing his right hand at Harry, and Harry's rapid fall was instantly changed to a slow descent towards the ground.

"Expecto Patronum!"

Professor McGonagall and Professor Sprout simultaneously drew their wands and pointed them at the sky, and two Patronuses charged out, racing through the rain.

Lin Yue's gaze lingered on the faces of the three professors, and their expressions were all extremely angry.

The last time she saw such an expression on a professor's face was when Professor McGonagall learned about her past.
