Miss Granger Advises Me To Stop Study
Chapter 116: Transmutation, The Only Slander.

Chapter 116: Transmutation, The Only Slander.

"Impulsive, too impulsive, Miss Granger." Professor McGonagall said with a mix of concern and pride. Of course, if the curve of her lips could drop a little more, her words would have been slightly more convincing.

"Merlin, it's the first time I've seen the Ravenclaw students so spirited and united." Professor Flitwick was also in high spirits; which head of house wouldn't be happy to see their students come together?

As for what the Ministry of Magic and those pure-blood families would think upon hearing this news, Professor Flitwick felt that it was unimportant. He believed that none of them would dare to harm his students in front of him.

The students of Ravenclaw gradually returned to their seats, continuing to eat their lunch at a leisurely pace. At the other three long tables, the Slytherins were silent, the Gryffindors were whispering to each other, and the Hufflepuffs were hesitating about whether to follow Ravenclaw's decision this time.

But everyone knew that there were some invisible things in the wizarding world that began to change from this moment on.

After lunch, Lin Yue stood up and followed Hermione back to the dormitory, while Cho Chang, Marietta, and Penelope joined the other Ravenclaws forming a "large army." They marched to the owlery to write letters to their parents.

On that day during the lunch break, nearly half of Hogwarts' common owls were in action. Meanwhile, there were also many private owls belonging to Slytherin students mixed in. Everyone was conveying what had happened in the Great Hall that day.

It wasn't until Cho Chang and Marietta returned to the dormitory that Lin Yue remained staring blankly at the cup of water in front of her, wand in hand. "What's going on?"

Cho Chang walked over to Hermione and quietly asked her a question. Hermione also shook her head in confusion.

"I don't know either. Ever since we returned to the dormitory, Lin Yue has been like this. I thought she might be thinking about something, so I didn't want to disturb her."

"Alright." Cho Chang nodded, not dwelling on it any longer, and turned back to his own bed.

Hermione and Marietta also returned to their beds to sit up, as long as Lin Yue was fine, that was all that mattered.

The lunch break still needed to be utilized well. With this thought in mind, the three of them simultaneously pulled the bed curtains and began their nap.

Almost the moment they drew the curtains, Lin Yue's gaze swept over the three bed curtains, her eyes revealing a hint of softness deep within.

But soon, that was replaced by indifference, as lines of formulas and algorithms flashed continuously in her mind.

How to generate a sufficiently large amount of energy, how to compress this massive energy, how to fit such energy into a small-volume weapon, and how to successfully release the energy from the weapon.

Her brain was operating at high speed, and Lin Yue continuously delved into the knowledge she had learned, constructing an incredibly complex manufacturing diagram in her mind.

Under normal circumstances, it might take decades to complete this process, but Lin Yue finished it in an instant.

After all, she only needed to design a weapon that was sufficiently reasonable and could achieve her goals; as for the processes and materials required to manufacture such a weapon, she didn’t need to consider them at all.

Drawing her wand, a complex yet clear design diagram emerged in Lin Yue's mind as she waved her wand and recited the incantation.

The cup in front of her began to undergo fundamental changes, and Lin Yue could feel her magic being drawn away in large amounts.

However, compared to her own magical power, she could easily bear this loss.

With the support of her magic, the transformation of the cup was rapid; in just a second, it had turned into a pistol-shaped weapon glowing with blue light.

Holding the weapon she had conjured in her left hand, Lin Yue examined it carefully.

The structural transformation was normal, the internal energy transformation was normal, and it appeared to be filled with her own magic. However, through the built-in amplification device in the weapon's structure, the magic she had infused should be able to unleash greater destructive power.

With the weapon in her left hand and her wand in her right, various items like a quill, an ink bottle, and parchment floated behind her.

The design diagram in her mind was rapidly constructed and perfected; every formula and piece of knowledge required no excessive thought, and every deduction was a natural progression.

There was no need to think about more problems; with magic as her ally, Lin Yue could perfectly manifest those highly destructive weapons she had constructed in her mind.

After a slight vibration, five glowing metal spheres floated behind Lin Yue, and at the same time, her magical power had consumed nearly one-tenth of her total.

Putting away her wand, Lin Yue looked down at the weapon in her left hand, and the metal spheres behind her flew to her front, constantly shining with a disconcerting red light.

Hermione wants to create a better future for herself and for the world; no one should question her, and no one will raise any doubts.

Putting her weapon away in the pocket of her wizard robe, Lin Yue stood up and returned to her bed, slowly closing her eyes.

In the afternoon, the third-year Ravenclaw students had a Charms class, which they attended together with Hufflepuff.

During the class, Professor Flitwick had a smile on his face the entire time, and Lin Yue, who actively answered questions, was awarded nearly twenty points by him. The Hufflepuffs attending the class with them quietly applauded.

Well, it seems that their good friends, the Ravenclaws, have ideas that are very much welcomed by their professor.

After the Charms class ended, Lin Yue stood up, grabbed her backpack, and walked towards the classroom door.

However, Professor Flitwick timely reached out his hand and called out to her.

"Miss Lin Yue, please wait a moment."

Lin Yue paused for a moment, turned around, and politely nodded to Professor Flitwick.

"Professor Flitwick, is there something you need?"

Professor Flitwick smiled and waved his wand to tidy up his things. "It's nothing serious, I just wanted to say that if you need it, you can come to me for a pass to the restricted section."

"You must be almost done with the books outside the restricted section of the Hogwarts library. I’ve never seen a child who is about to finish all the books so quickly."

Lin Yue was taken aback and looked at Professor Flitwick, tilting her head mechanically. "Professor Flitwick, aren't you afraid that I might learn things I shouldn't from the restricted section?"

Professor Flitwick waved his hand. "I trust your character, Miss Lin Yue."

"And as you once said, ordinary magic can sometimes possess capabilities that dark magic cannot match. Knowledge itself is neither good nor bad; it is the heart that determines good and bad."

Lin Yue nodded seriously, a barely noticeable smile appearing at the corner of her mouth. "Thank you for your trust, Professor Flitwick. Once I finish the remaining books, I will come to you for the approval pass."

"Alright, go have dinner now."

Professor Flitwick smiled and waved to Lin Yue, signaling her to go ahead. Lin Yue bowed deeply to Professor Flitwick and then turned to leave the classroom.

She sat down in the great hall between Cho Chang and Marietta. As soon as she sat down, the two senior students seamlessly filled her plate with meat and vegetables.

"Thank you," Lin Yue said politely, lowering her head to take a big bite of steak. Sitting next to her, Cho Chang and Marietta, or rather all the Ravenclaws at the Ravenclaw long table, each had a letter in hand, and some young wizards even held several letters.

"My mom said that what happened at noon was reported to Fudge by some pure-blood families, and he and his supporters, especially that Dolores Umbridge, are quite angry."

"She told us to remember to be careful."

Marietta set the letter in her hand aside and took a sip of pumpkin juice, not particularly concerned. She wasn't worried that her mother would be targeted at the Ministry of Magic because of what happened at noon. If it were just her alone, then her mother might indeed be targeted. But now it was an entire Ravenclaw house—targeted? Targeting all the Ravenclaw graduates? That would be quite a spectacle; the Ministry could just close its doors right then and there.

"Well, my dad also said that the Auror department received some information, apparently telling them to pay more attention to Hogwarts."

"Officially, it's to guard against Sirius Black, but everyone knows the real intention behind it."

Penelope, sitting next to Cho Chang, flipped through the letters in her hand. "A senior who graduated last year and works at the Daily Prophet told me that Umbridge contacted Rita Skeeter, and there's a good chance a report will come out tomorrow."

"Tsk," a sixth-year senior sitting across from them frowned heavily. "This is going to slander us and Miss Granger."

"What do you mean?"

Hermione looked at the others in confusion, not quite understanding why mentioning Rita Skeeter was automatically associated with slander.

"Hermione, you come from the Muggle world, so you might not know. Rita Skeeter is a notorious character," Penelope said, wrinkling her nose. "Her articles never care about whether there's any factual basis; she just spreads rumors and slanders."

"However, there are still many people in the magical world who like her articles."

"You two should not read the Daily Prophet tomorrow."

Cho Chang reached out and ruffled the hair of his two junior, Lin Yue and Hermione, saying, "Don't let it affect your mood."

"It's fine," Hermione waved her hand dismissively. "Let her say what she wants, I don't care. Even if she insults me, I don't lose anything."

"That's right, good attitude. You're definitely suited for the Ministry of Magic," Marietta nodded in approval.

Penelope, as the female prefect, spent the entire dinner counting the responses from all the Ravenclaw students while eating.

Once she finished her last bite of ice cream, she cheerfully waved her spoon.

"Good news! Given Lin Yue's performance over the past two years, and the fact that everyone's parents still have a lot of faith in us."

"Quite a few Ravenclaw alumni and parents working in research have temporarily withheld their latest patents and are not collaborating with pure-blood families or the Ministry of Magic."

"As for the previous ones, there is still room for maneuver."

Penelope winked at Hermione while speaking, and Hermione instantly understood.

"Tomorrow's Daily Prophet?"

"Yes," Penelope snapped her fingers, "as long as Rita Skeeter really says something she shouldn't."

"From the perspective of protecting our Ravenclaw students, at least 80% of the research and patent licenses in the magical world will be cut off."

"I'll cover the economic losses caused to everyone."

Lin Yue, who had finished eating, suddenly interjected, placing her money pouch and black card on the long table.

"You are quite generous," Cho Chang said with a mix of laughter and exasperation, tapping her forehead, "this is a collective action of all Ravenclaws in our magical world, how could we let you foot the bill? Or do you not recognize us?"

"I didn't mean that, it's just that you shouldn't have to pay..." the cost.

Before she could finish her sentence, Marietta shoved the money pouch and black card back into Lin Yue's robe pocket. "There's no should or shouldn't; Ravenclaw is a whole. What you want to do is what we want to do. It's right for us to work hard together and contribute together."

"Alright..." Lin Yue pursed her lips and didn't dwell on it any longer.

The Ravenclaws in the hall stood up, chatting and laughing as they walked towards the hall's entrance. Behind them, many Slytherin little wizards were looking at them with glee, holding letters sent from home.

By tomorrow morning, who knows if these guys will still be able to joke around like this.

Sitting at her desk and looking at her Potions textbook, Lin Yue waited until Hermione and the two seniors had gone to sleep before standing up.

With a blank expression, she opened the window, and five metal balls shot out from her robe pocket.

With a gaze that was half dead and half cold, Lin Yue looked at the night sky, her heart completely still, and her mind occupied with only one thought.

She didn't expect that after successfully transforming yesterday, she might be able to use it tomorrow.

Closing the window and returning to her bed, Lin Yue lay down and closed her eyes, falling into a deep sleep. The metal balls she had released, enhanced with a locating spell, quickly flew towards the location of the Daily Prophet in the night wind.

The next morning, after Lin Yue had almost finished her breakfast, Hermione and most of the little wizards from Hogwarts entered the Great Hall.

"Good morning!"

Hermione greeted Lin Yue and then sat down beside her.

Since she had already sat at the Ravenclaw table twice before, it was fine to continue sitting there.

"Good morning, Hermione."

Lin Yue replied in a flat voice, though her stiffness was much less than before.

"Good morning." Cho Chang and Marietta also came in, greeted the two younger students, and then sat down next to them.

Penelope followed closely behind, and after sitting down, her eyes occasionally glanced towards the windows of the Great Hall.

"Just waiting for today's Daily Prophet."

Hermione smiled and nodded, "I am actually looking forward to what that reporter might slander me with."

But she better not involve Lin Yue... Otherwise, Hermione tightened her grip on the fork, making it squeak under the pressure.

Lin Yue noticed Hermione's eyes momentarily pause; it was an obvious fact that the reporter would slander both Hermione and herself, as well as everyone in Ravenclaw. There was no need to think about it. They indeed needed this opportunity to give the broader Ravenclaw community in the British magical world a legitimate reason to target pure-blood families and the Ministry of Magic. This was a unanimous decision—just a round of insults and slander, as long as there were gains.

However, the thought of Hermione being insulted and slandered, and everyone in Ravenclaw facing the same fate, made Lin Yue's mind tighten sharply. Just this once, she rubbed her wand in her hand. After today, the entire British magical community, no, the entire magical world would know about the inappropriate remarks directed at Hermione and everyone else—just this once.

A cold thought passed through her mind, five metallic spheres glimmering with red light in the sky, floating unnoticed above, surrounding the location of the Daily Prophet.
