CHAPTER 424
Chapter 424 A Young And Handsome Man
Clarissa stared at Damien, numb.
The last time they met, Clarissa was taken aback by Damien’s sudden appearance at Grandpa’s
house. That time, she didn’t pay much attention to Damien’s fashion style.
Now that she had taken a good look at him, she realized he was still as well-dressed as ever. However,
she also knew that underneath that impeccable facade was a completely rotten personality.
Wearing a T-shirt and matching colored pants, he exuded the vibes of a big boss. However, he didn’t
flaunt his riches and was dressed up in a way that reflected his own personal style.
To put it bluntly, he was the definition of the word ‘desire’. His presence attracted the attention of many
women. Damien, for his part, didn’t expect Clarissa to come here at all. “President Lawrence, this is
Miss Clarissa Johnson. She is our independent director in New East.
The corners of Damien’s lips turned up. “Hello, Miss Johnson.”
Then, he looked at Ray and said, “Why didn’t you inform me about this?”
Ray was just as puzzled. ‘What does he mean by that? How could I inform him beforehand when I
don’t even know that Clarissa will be here?’
“Miss Johnson graduated from the University of Emmeria. She just started working here not long ago. I
met her through a conference that was held at the university. She was the best student in class, and
she also has a lot of valuable experiences when it comes to her field of work.” Charles introduced
Clarissa to Damien. Knowing Damien, Clarissa knew he would’ve thought of her as an irresponsible
woman despite having acquired so many academic achievements at such a young age.
He hated her so much that he even pretended that he didn’t know her the moment he saw her. Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
Well, it was probably better this way.
And so, she smiled from ear to ear.
“Oh, really?” Damien replied with a calm tone.
The moment Damien entered the conference room, President Benson stood up and left the seat of the
host to Damien.
At this moment, Damien was sitting right beside Clarissa. Damien glanced at Clarissa. “How old are
you, Miss Johnson?” “I’m twenty-eight,” Clarissa said.
“You don’t look twenty-eight at all. You look like a college student,” Damien said, pursing his
lips.
Clarissa didn’t know what he was hinting at. If she were to guess, he was probably mocking
her for abandoning Neil to pursue her own career path in life.
“Although Miss Johnson is young, she’s very experienced in the field of investments.” Worried that
Damien might doubt her capability in work, Charles put in a good word for Clarissa. “You look very
young too, President Lawrence,” Clarissa replied. “Oh really?” Damien turned to Ray.
“Yes, of course! You’re not only handsome, but you’re also the best of the best!” Ray was quick to
praise Damien.
“President Lawrence, we have a few things we’d like to address in terms of the details of the contract.”
While flipping through the pages of the contract, Clarissa said, “Can you please look at the fourth and
fifth point? We would like to…”
Damien shifted his gaze toward the contents of the contract and looked up at Clarissa. “Sure, just
change it.”
After receiving Damien’s answer, Clarissa smiled. “As for the seventh and eighth point, we’d like to
change the responsibility incurred in case of a breach of contract. Can we make it so that
“Sure, just change it.” Clarissa voiced a lot of points, but Damien repeated the same thing. Clarissa
found his behavior very odd. ‘What exactly is he trying to do?’ “President Lawrence, you don’t have to
agree to everything I propose…” Clarissa voiced.
“And why is that?” Damien looked up at Clarissa as she stared back at her reflection in his eyes.
Clarissa lowered her head. She felt instant regret for blurting those words.
At first, she wanted to say he shouldn’t follow whatever she proposed blindly just because they knew
each other.
“President Benson, would you look at your employee? It’s funny how she’s trying to question my
decision,” Damien said with a smile as he shot his gaze at Charles.
Clarissa couldn’t guess what he was thinking at all.
“Miss Johnson, you shouldn’t question his decision.” Charles agreed with Damien.
Though he agreed with Damien, Charles felt the reason Damien agreed to everything was because he
was trying to charm a pretty woman like Clarissa. Besides, Damien also knew that changing a few
terms here and there wouldn’t hurt a corporation as large as New East. On top of that, Charles also
thought the two looked like a perfect pair at one glance.
