CHAPTER 161
Chapter 161 Why Were You With President Lawrence?
“You’ve never told your cousin about me?” Damien asked as he leaned against the bed frame.
“We’re going to get divorced sooner or later. What’s there to tell?” Clarissa’s eyes were closed.
She decided that from this moment on, she would take back all the feelings and emotions that she had
put into their relationship. She would maintain a distance from Damien until the end of their contract.
“So, were you pleased when she mistook Joseph as your husband?”
Clarissa didn’t say anything. Instead, she got dressed and prepared to eat.
Damien saw a hickey on her neck. She hid it with a turtleneck sweater.
He got dressed as well.
Breakfast at Clarissa’s house was no match for Damien’s in terms of variety.
Mrs. Cole bought them a baguette, orange juice, croissants, and eggs Benedict.
She was rather nervous about Damien’s presence. “I hope you’re okay with this, Mr. Lawrence.”
“It’s fine,” he said.
Clarissa didn’t have eggs Benedict for breakfast.
If she ate any, Damien would eat the yolk for her. All these simple gestures would make her start to feel
things for him again.
Thus, she chose to go without it.
“Clary, don’t you want any eggs? I know you don’t eat the yolk, so I’ll eat them.” Theresa put an egg
onto her plate. “Give me the yolk later.”
“Okay.” Clarissa’s heart warmed. She used to throw the egg yolk away, but now, her mother would eat
them for her.
She had just cut the yolk out to give to her mother when Damien scooped it up.
He ate it without saying a word.
Clarissa glanced at him. At times like this, it was hard for her to suppress her feelings.
She wanted to take all those feelings back, but he kept going against her wishes.
Theresa smiled. “I can rest assured now that you‘ve married Damien.”
Clarissa didn’t say anything.
She hitched a ride from Damien to get to work. On the way, she wanted to say something, but she
ended up not saying a thing.
“What do you want to say?” Damien asked when he saw the hesitant look on her face.
“It’s nothing.” She turned her head away.
When they got into the car, she noticed that there was a mark on his lip from when she had bitten him
the night before. She was afraid people at the company would start to gossip if they were to see it,
making them the center of attention.
“Oh, right. Lily said you’re a pretty heavy sleeper.” Damien suddenly started chuckling to himself.
Clarissa was confused. Lily?
So, he’d spoken to her mother yesterday and knew what had happened on Easter?
No wonder he was being so nice to her right now!
He had almost ripped her to shreds the night before.
“Yes, I am!” Clarissa snorted,
“Regardless, you should only remember to sleep with one person,” he added teasingly
She wondered how he could possibly relate every single thing to sexual relationships.
Yes, she was a heavy sleeper. It didn’t mean she went around sleeping with people.
When they arrived, Clarissa had already gotten out of the car and started walking when Damien was
still leisurely getting out.
They walked towards the company, one after the other.
Connie happened to come from the opposite direction. ‘Why did Clarissa get out of President
Lawrence’s car?’
Clarissa was already married, so what was she doing with Damien? Was she getting revenge on
Joseph? And they weren’t walking together, either. Did they not want people to know about their
relationship?
When Clarissa stepped into the lobby, Connie caught Clarissa and linked arms with Clarissa almost
instantly.
The events from yesterday made Clarissa feel extremely awkward.
“Clarissa, why were you with President Lawrence?” Connie asked.
“He..” Clarissa wondered how Connie managed to catch everything. She was such a gossip. Wanting
to pull a prank on Connie as payback for the day before, Clarissa said, “He’s my sugar daddy.”
“Sugar daddy?” Connie was shocked. Then, jealousy bubbled in her.
In this day and age, it wasn’t too shocking to be someone’s sugar baby. Moreover, Damien was
handsome and rich. There were plenty of greasy, middle-aged men who had young, pretty sugar
babies.
Connie would’ve liked to find herself a sugar daddy, but she couldn’t.
“Does he give you money?” she asked.
“Of course. Why would I be with him if he didn’t? I want his money, and he wants my body.” Clarissa
crossed her arms over her chest. Fury surged in her as she recalled everything Connie had done.
“How much?”
“He said he’d give me 5 million dollars in total. He usually gives me some allowance too,” Clarissa said.
After some thought, Clarissa realized that her relationship with Damien was pretty much the same as
being his sugar baby. The only different thing was that they had a marriage license, which didn’t mean
much, to be honest. It was only to make Grandpa Lawrence happy. Plus, they would eventually be
divorced.
“That much?” Connie was dumbfounded.
It seemed that not only did Clarissa have a better job than Connie, but she was also far richer…
When Connie got back to her office, she asked the person in the cubicle next to hers, “Did you guys
know that Clarissa is President Lawrence’s sugar baby?”

They all knew about what had happened the day before, and were just waiting for things to get even
more out of hand
Naturally, none of them would tell Connie the truth.
With Connie’s abrasive personality, she deserved to be taught a lesson
After some thought, Connie decided to speak to Damien about this in person.
As a lowly salesperson, she had never been to his office. She had to give herself a long pep talk before
mustering the courage to make her move
