CHAPTER 129
Chapter 129 It’s You?
Theresa was shocked. However, a smile soon came to her lips. “It’s you…?”
Her tone was soft and hoarse, but Damien managed to catch the two words.
Just when Damien thought she was going to continue, Theresa closed her eyes and cocked her head
to the side.
Damien quickly checked her pulse, and realized that she had fallen back to sleep.
By then, Anne had walked out of the washroom.
“Has she woken up before?” Damien asked Anne.
“No, sir. She’s been in a coma for six years. Why do you ask, Mr. Lawrence?” Anne was busy washing
the clothes as she talked to Damien.
“Six years?” Damien was stunned.
“Yes, sir. Clarissa would be thrilled if she woke up.” Anne could imagine the look on Clarissa’s face.
“Oh! You know her daughter Clarissa, right?”
“I do.”
Damien stayed for a few more hours before leaving.
However, he was confused as to how and why Theressa recognized him. How on earth did she know
him?
She had been in a coma for six whole years!
When Damien reached the hospital at night, he asked Clarissa, “How’s your mother?”
Clarissa had felt much better compared to the first day of her hospitalization.
“Lily visited her yesterday, but nothing much changed.” Clarissa said with a melancholy tone. “I guess
that’s sort of good news?”
“She’s been in a coma all these years?”
“Yes.” Clarissa let out a sigh.
Damien was even more confused. Did Theressa perhaps mistake him as someone else?
The only plausible explanation was that Clarissa had been mentioning him to Theressa at every visit.
But even if Clarissa did that, it still didn’t explain how Theresa was able to recognize him straight away.
“Have you ever mentioned me to your mother?” Damien asked.
Clarissa looked at him, surprised. “Never.”
If there was one thing she didn’t want her mother to ever find out, it was about her marriage contract.
Thus, she never mentioned Damien to Theresa; not even once.
Damien was speechless at this.
He was silent for a while, and then finally said to Clarissa, “You’ll be discharged next Wednesday,”
Soon, Wednesday arrived.
The nurse finally took off the gauze from Clarissa’s head.
The first thing Clarissa did was touch the back of her head. Fortunately, only a small part was bald. She
had enough hair to cover it. Text © owned by .
When she reached home later that night, she kept looking into the mirror and sighing.
Damien, meanwhile, was reading on the bed.
“It’s ugly,” Clarissa muttered dejectedly.
“I’ve seen worse.”
Clarissa knew he was talking about what happened the other day, so she ignored him and went to
sleep.
The next day came.
At the company, Madelynn was shooting a hair shampoo commercial. Her hair was silky and beautiful,
even from afar.
Lily and Clarissa entered the company while the shooting was ongoing.
Clarissa instinctively looked for Damien. To her surprise, she discovered that Damien had been staring
at her the entire time.
Damien even let out a small smile at her.
Madelynn saw the entire thing. Fury welled in her.
Immediately, she requested Damien to be on site during the shooting. However, Damien turned her
down with two words: “I’m busy.”
During lunch break, Madelynn racked her brain to find ways for more contact with Damien. Just then,
Luke suddenly appeared.
He stormed into the company with furious steps.
Meanwhile, Clarissa and Janet were coming out of the elevator.
Luke turned on his loudspeaker and bellowed, “Clarissa! When are you ending your contract marriage
with Mr. Lawrence? Why the hassle just for money? Are you willing to sell yourself out just for money?!”
Clarissa was taken aback by Luke’s actions. They were so sudden, her recovered wound began to
hurt. Immediately, she touched the back of her head.
