CHAPTER 349
Chapter 349 Go Back in Time After Rebecca left, Clarissa continued staying at home for a few days
and felt even more depressed. Vanessa’s overly attentive care for her was terribly suffocating.
At the same time, Mrs. Faber suddenly requested a leave of absence from Clarissa,
“Why the short notice, Mrs. Faber? I just had a baby and need someone to help,” Clarissa said.
Mrs. Faber had been serving them in the Lawrence family for many years. Her relationship with
Clarissa had improved after their time together in Atherton Garden.
Clarissa was reluctant to let Mrs. Faber leave. With her around, she could at least have someone to
talk to.
Mrs. Faber’s upcoining temporary absence suddenly made Clarissa feel insecure.
“Madam, my son is having his exams this week. I want to go back to be with him. Can 1?”
Clarissa understood at once. “I see. Alright.” “I’ll go back tomorrow. I’ll stay with my son for two more
days after the exam, so I’ll be back in five days. Is that alright?” Mrs. Faber asked.
“Sure.” Clarissa thought she should not stop Mrs. Faber from leaving. After all, she was close with her
son
After that, Mrs. Faber left. Actually, she had her reasons for taking a short break
Vanessa had been busy in the kitchen every day. She made all sorts of delicious food for Clarissa, and
was even more hardworking than Mrs. Faber. Vanessa occasionally complained about Mrs. Faber’s
food, saying it was too heavy for Clarissa
Mrs Faber had planned the meals for Clarissa, but Vanessa disrupted all her plans. She was Damien’s
mother, so Mrs. Faber could not argue with her
Mrs. Faber knew a little about Theresa’s incident. She knew Clarissa deeply resented Patrick Vanessa
was doing all of these now to atone for Patrick’s sin. She wanted to win the right to speak by cooking
for Clarissa, but she went overboard and made Clarissa more depressed.
Mrs. Faber was aware of all that, but she also knew that every family had its own problems. Therefore,
she didn’t tell Clarissa the real reason behind her short break. She only said she was going home to
accompany her son in the exams.
Her son actually didn’t need her at all. But as Vanessa needed to strengthen her presence at home,
Mrs. Faber gave the former the opportunity to do so.
With Mrs. Faber gone, Clarissa felt even more suffocated at home. Coincidentally, Damien happened
to be going to Florin for a class reunion.
“Am I going too?” Clarissa was surprised.
“Yeah, You’re my child’s mother. Why can’t you come?”
“I’m a housewife now. I’m so unkempt and sloppy.” Clarissa tugged on hier dress
“That’s what you think.” Damien glanced up and down at her. Clarissa was already a mother, but she
looked better with the newfound charm in her eyes. Besides, her curves didn’t change
at all. The more he looked at her, the more his desire to possess her grew.
Clarissa thought it would be a good idea to go to Florin. It was too suffocating at home. Damien
probably knew she was bored as well, so he deliberately organized a class reunion to take her there.
“Can you wake up early tomorrow?” Damien asked Clarissa.
“Isn’t it up to you?” Clarissa muttered a complaint. For the past few days, Damien made Clarissa stay
up late every night to share the intimacy with her.
“I won’t bother you tonight. Go to bed early.”
Clarissa nodded.
The two of them left at ten the following morning. Clarissa looked at the familiar road heading to Florin,
and was reminded of her earlier days with Damien. It was when she and Damien had agreed to get
married and go back to Florin together. Time had passed by so quickly
Clarissa thought of something and turned to the side to ask Damien, “Are we staying at Grandpa’s
place for the night?” “We’re staying at the hotel. The class reunion is held there, so we’re staying there
at night.”
“Hmm. When did you go to school with these guys?” Clarissa asked him
“High school” “What high school did you go to?” Clarissa kept asking him questions “It’s a private high
school that focuses on nurturing the students and getting them ready for further studies abroad upon
graduation.” Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
Clarissa nodded half a beat later before asking again, “Who organized this reunion?” “Are you done?
Why are there so many questions?” Damien looked at her sideways
Clarissa went silent and looked outside. The view outside was full of greenery, and the scenery was
breathtaking
Clarissa wished she could turn back to time to two years ago, when Grandpa Lawrence was still
around.
