Kim was bored to death hearing Robert Canning talking about the business all evening. Not that she doesn't like listening about the new gossip about the tinsel town but she was not in the mood now.

This is the fourth date with Robert Canning,  young and hansome man who is working as the executive producer in the Columbia Pictures. If it was any other girl she would have jumped with joy and would have tried to rope him. But not Kim, she had certain reputation in the industry and she Alex to support her.

Kim's mouth corners lifted in a smile as soon as she thought of Alex. The thought of Alex always puts a smile on her face. When Kim was with Alex she never misses a single thing about him as her entire world will focus only on Alex.

After the dinner Robert escorted Kim to the car and kissed on her lips. He pressed his lips tightly with hers holding her close. Kim tried to find some excitement in the kiss but she couldn't extract an ounce of excitement as hard as she may try it. Robert released her lips and sighed realizing her indifference to the kiss. Kim felt guilty but she couldn't do anything about it. 

"I think it's our goodbye kiss." Robert said with regret.

Kim nodded  as she knew nothing will come out of it anyway.

Kim unconsciously touched the chain  on her neck. It was the chain she specially ordered to be made with Alex's photo inside it. This makes her feel as Alex was always somehow with her.

Kim knew her love for Alex went beyond the line of  sisterly love and she was disgusted with herself feeling that way about him.So, she started dating and it was a disaster. She couldn't distance herself from Alex as even the thought of it make her heart ache.

Alex heard the sound of the car and his tight wound body and heart relaxed completely. It's only 10 pm and Alex knew nothing happened. But Alex's face tightened as soon as he saw the face of Kim. One look at her and he can tell Kim was unhappy.

Kim forced a smile and said "Nothing. Robert called it quits."

Alex was burning with anger as soon as he heard that. It may be unreasonable but Alex wanted Kim to reject Robert not the other way around.

"Why, does he think that you are not good enough for him." Alex kept his calm.

"It's not that. He just sensed I'm not interested in him." Kim said with a sigh.

Ok. It's great. Kim was not interested in Robert. Good news it is.

"Maybe I should stop dating for the time and focus on my career."

"Excellent choice. I think you should do that." Alex barely covered his excitement.

Good. Wait for me Kim. It won't be long.

"By the way Kim, you are very beautiful tonight." Alex said eyeing her in the white dress she was wearing.

Alex's simple compliment gave her the excitement she wished to find in Robert's Kiss. 

'See how pathetic I am' Kim thought to herself.

Alex was doing the tap dance on a brick wall with such a grace that even the choreographer thought 'Pity that Alex was not a professional dancer'.Everyone on the set gave a warm round of applause as soon as the dance was over.

'Go with the flow' that's the motto for the way Alex dances. He won't control anything as long as the rythm was perfect his body moves on its own. Just the tap dance he performed took 5 days to choreograph to get the perfect rythm. Thank God, there weren't many dance sequences in the film.

It's gonna take another week to complete the balance part in the movie.

Meanwhile, "Empire of the Sun" in its eight weeks of release grossed $113.4 million domestically and $88.2 from other territories to the worldwide total of $201.6 million making it the second highest grossing film of 1982 as E.T. was released ahead of time. In early 1980's international distribution was in its most primitive stage. In 1982 except for "Lucas" and "Empire of the Sun" not many films were released in international market. In the next two there were going to be many films that were going to be releasd in internationally.

Kim's film Mr. Mom grossed $95 million in it's theatrical run earning it's place in top 10 highest grossers of 1982. And it also outgrossed it's original version of $65 million.
