Chapter 027: Next Step

“Do you think we’ll succeed, Jin-Woo?” Yuri asked. She was sitting on the couch watching the presidential debate on TV. Her eyes were focused on Governor Li. “We can’t allow that man to become the president or even continue in politics.”

“I’ll make sure of that. We won’t fail, Yuri.” Jin-Woo answered. He was sitting on the other side of the couch. “This is for our parents.”

“Jin-Woo, ever since we lost our parents you have been focusing too much on supporting us, when will you focus on yourself?” Yuri was worried. “I am an adult now; I have been for the past few years. You can live your own life. You have done a great job supporting me.”

“I don’t know, I’ve been so focused on my responsibilities that I have forgotten what I want. I go out with Roger and Oliver, but what do I really want?” Jin-Woo questioned himself. “Maybe once our plan succeeds, I’ll take some time to think about what I desire. Maybe I want to start a family, maybe I want something else entirely. You have grown Yuri; you’re no longer my defenseless little sister.”

“Jin-Woo, I am so grateful for you. You have sacrificed so much for me. I miss our parents so much. I wish they were still alive, maybe then you wouldn’t have had to sacrifice as much.” Yuri said. “Once this is over, I hope you can find your own meaning.”

“We’ll ask Oliver if he wants to help us tomorrow.” Jin-Woo asked. “If we have him on our side, we can achieve our goal without relying on them.”

“Yeah, I don’t want to work with them. I don’t like them one bit. That’s why we need someone as intelligent as Oliver.” Yuri said as she looked at the TV. “Governor Li, we’ll put a stop to you; we can’t let you gain more influence.”

“I think Oliver mentioned he is on a date with Aria tonight.” Jin-Woo said. “I wonder how that’s going.”

“I bet it's going great. Those two are a cute couple.” Yuri smiled. “I am happy for them; it seems they have found happiness with each other.”

“Yeah, I am happy for them. I wish to see them getting married. I believe they are fated to be together.” Jin-Woo said with a smile. “I want to find something that makes me happy as much as they make each other happy.”

“I am sure, you’ll find your own happiness, Jin-Woo.” Yuri said.

“I hope so. And you too, Yuri. I want you to find your own happiness.” Jin-Woo said.

“The only thing standing in our way of finding our happiness will soon be gone. We can soon focus on finding our happiness in this world. To find another meaning to our existence.” Yuri said. “Mom, Dad I hope we can make you guys proud.”

Oliver and Aria were in a fine dining restaurant located in the heart of downtown Sol City. Aria wore a dark blue dress paired with matching heels, while Oliver wore a charcoal gray suit with black dressing shoes. The table was decorated with a vase of flowers and a candle. A bottle of wine was set in the middle of the table.

“This is so elegant, Oliver.” Aria was looking around the restaurant. “I’ve never been to fine dining. But I heard it can be expensive.”

“Don’t worry about the price and just focus on the experience, Aria.” Oliver smiled. “I just want to treat my beautiful girlfriend.”

“I am so lucky to have such a kind and handsome boyfriend.” Aria said, looking into Oliver’s eyes. “I love your eyes; they truly reflect your ambitious soul, Oliver.”

“Thank you, Aria.” Oliver blushed. “It makes me quite happy to hear that. I love how you look today. I can see you put in a lot of effort for this date.”

“I just want to look beautiful for my boyfriend.” Aria slightly blushed. “You don’t know for how long I have dreamed of being with you. I was just scared of being rejected, so I never did anything. It wasn’t until Nicole started pursuing you that I felt fear of losing you to her that I also decided to pursue you. I am glad you chose me.”

“You have been in my heart for a long time, Aria. And just like you I was afraid of being rejected, so I kept the status quo. But I am happy to finally be by your side as your boyfriend.” Oliver said.

“Oliver, I forgot when I fell for you, but I just remember that I started looking forward to going to the lab just to see you. I love watching you work; I love how determined you look. I think I can’t place exactly when I fell for you because I fell little by little by watching you!” Aria said. “I can certainly say that I love you, Oliver!”

“I fell for you when I got lost at the base and you helped me find my way to the lab. Your smile after I thanked you was so beautiful that I fell for you, Aria.” Oliver smiled. “I love you, Aria. I am so grateful to have you. Let’s rely on each other to grow together.”

“You’re going with Jin-Woo and Yuri tomorrow, right?” Aria asked.

“Yes, we are going to hang out at the mall. Hopefully it’s a fun day.” Oliver answered. “What about you? Any plans?”

“Me and Mei are going to a cafe she found while strolling through social media.” Aria responded. “Apparently, it’s themed around cute monsters. I’ll take you there one of these days.

“Then I’ll be waiting to go.” Oliver said. “That sounds like it’s going to be a fun date.”

“You can also be cute, Oliver.” Arai leaned forward and kissed Oliver. “You looked so cute now that I had to kiss you!”

“Then I won’t be holding back.” Oliver kissed Aria. “I couldn’t resist myself, you just looked so lovely, Honey.”

“I wish we could’ve been together earlier. Or maybe this was the right time for us to be together.” Aria said. “I am going to stop focusing on the ifs and look at the present and the future. Anyone that looks at us will be jealous of our relationship because we’ll be the perfect couple. Two people who were made for each other.”

“Let’s show everyone our love, Aria.” Oliver said while holding Aria’s hand. “Our love will shine brighter than anyone else’s love.”
