“Are you also getting bored, Oliver?” Nicole asked after entering the lobby of the ship and seeing Oliver laying down on one of the couches.
“Sort of. I have been watching some of the engineering videos, but I got bored.” Oliver responded as he sat up. “I decided to come here and wait for someone else to come.”
“You’re in luck. I had the same thought!” Nicole said, sitting across from Oliver. “I heard from Aria and my Dad that you’re in this mission to get funding approved for an invention, what is that invention?”
“An Elemental Gun.” Oliver said and noticed Nicole’s confused expression. “It’s a gun that takes in Magical Power used for Elemental Magic, amplifies it, and shoots out Elemental Magic. My prototype worked for two attacks and broke down, so I am trying to get better materials.”
“That sounds so cool!” Nicole said with an excited expression. “How is it in terms of Magical Energy usage?”
“Well, someone who fires out Elemental Magic with the Elemental Gun will use less Magical Energy than someone trying to use an attack of the same power. My prototype I’ll say I used about twenty percent less Magical Energy than if I had used the same attack without the gun.” Oliver responded.
“How does that work?” Nicole asked.
“There what I call a Magic Amplifier inside the Elemental Gun that uses Magical Energy in the environment to make the Elemental Magic more powerful, but I had to figure out a way to convert the Magical Energy in the environment to a usable form since for some reason we can’t just take it and use like regular Magical Energy we have in our bodies.” Oliver replied.
“Then don’t you just make a staff or wand and put the Magic Amplifier inside it? Wouldn’t the results be the same?” Aria asked after entering the lobby.
“Because of how I made the Magic Amplifier, you need to aim where the attack is going to land.” Oliver answered. “And the only weapon that came to my mind was a gun.”
“Makes sense!” Nicole said with a big smile. “I don’t fully understand everything, but you really are amazing!”
“You could have understood more if you had paid attention during class.” Aria said while sitting down next to Oliver. “Simple concepts of this were explained to us during our mandatory magic theory class.”
“You’re always like this, Aria!” Nicole said, sulking. “That’s why I am your only friend.”
“Oliver is also my friend.” Aria responded.
“You said it, not me!” Nicole said, pointing at Aria. “That means I am free to chase after him.”
“You …” Aria glared at Nicole.
“Look, we can see the first moon, Luna!” Oliver pointed at Luna trying to diffuse the situation. “No matter how many times I see it, I always find Luna beautiful!”

“Yeah, it has its own charm!” Nicole said, getting lost in her thoughts. “Do you think there is a rabbit in Luna?”
“What do you mean?” Aria asked.
“When I was a kid, I remember reading a legend about a rabbit on the moon.” Nicole responded. “But it never specified which of the five moons.”
“I never heard about that fairy tale.” Oliver said. “It sounds interesting!”
“Are you sure that legend was from this world?” Aria asked.
“I don’t remember, it’s been a long time since I read it.” Nicole replied. “I just remembered it now when Oliver mentioned Luna.”
“I think I remember hearing a similar fairy take from my Mom.” Aria said, looking at Luna. “She is a fanatic of Earth, so it might have originated there.”
“Are you guys talking about other worlds?” Jin-Woo entered the lobby. “I’ve always been curious about visiting other worlds.”
“It’s interesting, so I hope Mrs. Hashimoto succeeds in completing the Inter-World Spaceship soon.” Oliver replied. “Hopefully, this new material speeds up the process.”
“I can’t wait to see other worlds and see how they differ from this one. I mean the only one we know exists so far is the world where planet Earth is located.” Jin-Woo said.
“And we only know Earth exists because rulers of the past used summoning rituals to bring heroes from other worlds, but they only ever brought people from Earth.” Aria said. “My Mom is studying those rituals to see if she can figure out a way to freely travel between worlds.”
“That’s interesting. I have always liked studying Magic, but I was never good at it. I ended up becoming a soldier because I am better at fighting.” Jin-Wood said with a sad expression. “Oliver, I heard that you’re working on a weapon that can generate Magic attacks.”
“Well not exactly generate them so far, but rather it amplifies them by using less Magical Energy in the user and pulling the rest from the environment.” Oliver replied.
“I … see.” Jin-Woo had a disappointed expression.
“But maybe in the near future, I’ll be able to make a weapon that requires no Magical Energy from the user.” Oliver said after noticing Jin-Woo’s expression. “I mean ever since the heroes from Earth introduced electricity, that’s been our main source of powering our technology. And the few gadgets that use Magical Energy as a power source require the user to supply it or to use Magic Stones. I want to change that and make use of the Magical Energy that is around us, but it’s more difficult than I expected.”
“Then I look forward to what you can do!” Jin-Woo replied with a smile.
“It looks like everyone is here!” Yuri said with a playful tone as she entered the room with a six pack of beers. “Where is Roger? I grabbed a beer for everyone.”
“Once he hears us, he should be hurrying here. I mean you know how he gets about alcohol.” Nicole said, catching a beer can Yuri threw at her. “You should have brought more.”
“You know the rules, no alcohol on missions, so it was kinda hard even smuggling these ones.” Yuri replied as she put down the rest of the beers on the table and grabbed one. “I needed one of these.”
“One for everyone is more than enough, don’t get too greedy or you’ll be caught!” Aria said, taking two beers and giving one to Oliver. “Here you go!”
“Thanks!” Oliver responded, taking the beer. “Thank you, Yuri! I hope you don’t get in trouble.”
“Don’t worry, I have done it many times!” Yuri responded. “Jin-Woo, are you going to wait for Roger?”
“No, last time we hung out he ate all my chicken nuggets.” Jin-Woo responded, taking a beer. “So, he can drink by himself.”
“Aria, are you planning on coming back to Platoon 12?” Yuri asked, while drinking her beer.
“I prefer just working as a bodyguard for my Mom and being dispatched to missions whenever they need an extra soldier.” Aria responded, opening her beer. “These past two years have been relaxing. By the way, what happened with Joe?”
“He couldn’t come because his wife gave birth.” Roger answered as he entered the lobby. “It looks like you guys got started without me. Jin-Woo you rascal!”
“You ate my nuggets last time!” Jin-Woo replied with an expression of indignation.
“You’re still mad at me because of some chicken. HAHAHAHA!!” Roger laughed. “That’s fair, those nuggets were really good!”
“Next time we hang out, you’re buying me some food.” Jin-Woo said with a playful tone. “We can take Oliver with us!”
“How about we go somewhere after the mission?” Roger asked. “Just a guys’ night out. Us versus the world. HAHAHAHA!”
“Sounds fun! Count me in!” Oliver said, drinking his beer. “Then, we should focus on finishing the mission by the deadline.”
“One week is plenty of time!” Roger said as he drank his beer. “Unless something goes very wrong, we should be fine.”
“Yeah, we usually finish missions a couple of days earlier and we only went over the deadline once,” Nicole said with a smile. “Once we land in Muna, we will be jumping straight to battle, so let’s relax in the meantime!”
