“Hajin, are you home!?” Oliver asked as soon as he entered his apartment. He was holding a paper bag with two hamburgers and fries. “I brought you a burger!”

“Coming!” Hajin responded from his room and quickly made his way to the table. “I am hungry, I’ll go back to my homework after this!”

“Do you have a lot of homework?” Oliver asked as he placed the bag down. He then grabbed two cans of mango juice from the cupboard and set them on the table.

“I hung out with Ryuji, Jin, and Jimin and completely forgot about my homework.” Hajin said with a regretful expression, taking his burger and fries out of the bag. “Now, I am gonna have to stay up late to finish it.”

“At least you had fun!” Oliver said with a smile while taking out his food from the bag. He then proceeded to eat some of his fries.

“I guess you’re right.” Hajin replied. “Did the Elemental Gun work?”

“It worked for two shots and then it broke apart. I used Ice Magic and Electric Magic, but I don’t know if it broke because Electric Magic was too much or because it cannot handle more than two shots.” Oliver responded.

“Amazing, Oliver!” Hajin said with a tone of joy. “You’re a genius, I bet next time you’ll make a better one!”

“I’m getting better material, but I have to go on a mission to Muna before they can approve my request.” Oliver said and then took a bite of his burger.

“Cool, I want to travel to one of the moons or to another planet one day. I am excited for you!” Hajin said, taking a bite out of his burger. “When is your mission?”

“Sometime next week. They haven’t sent me the briefing yet.” Oliver responded while taking a sip out of his juice.

“I’ll be all by myself next week.” Hajin said, eating some of his fries and sipping on his juice. “Can I invite my friends over while you’re gone?”

“Yes, just make sure to clean the house.” Oliver said while eating some more of his fries.

“Wait, next week? Isn’t Aunt Yuno coming next week?” Hajin said.

“Oh yeah, our parents’ death anniversary is next week.” Oliver said with a worried expression. “I won’t be able to be here. I guess I’ll take the scolding when I come back!”

“I’ll try to calm her down, so that you don’t get that big of a scolding when you come back!” Hajin laughed.

“Anything new at school?” Oliver asked while taking a bite of his hamburger.

“During home economics we are learning to make bread. I am enjoying it very much!” Hajin responded while eating his fries. “I’ll become better and make some bread for you!”

“Bread from that little brother, I can’t wait for it!” Oliver responded with a big smile.

They continued chatting until they finished their food, then each of the brothers went back to their own rooms. Hajin went back to do his homework and Oliver went to take out his pajamas before heading to take a shower.

As the water flowed through Oliver’s body, Oliver felt relaxed. He began to think about how to improve his Elemental Gun and what materials to use.

The Elemental Gun is in its most simple sense an amplifier that uses environmental Magical Energy to make the Magic you feed more powerful. Oliver was lost in his thoughts. But in order to use Magical Energy I have to first process it, which I still don’t understand why, if Magical Energy should just be Magical Energy. The Magical Energy processor is functioning fine. I just used regular steel for the prototype that failed, maybe if I use steel reinforced by Magical Energy it can function properly. I guess that’s what I’ll ask once I finish the mission. If the Moon Units can withstand such powerful monster attacks and they are made out of that steel, then my Elemental Gun should work. Now, I really want to pilot a Moon Unit again, ever since I got my pilot license, I have only operated a Moon Unit twice. I should ask Aria if she can let me use hers in the training grounds.

After Oliver got out of the shower and changed into his pajamas, he checked his work laptop to see if he had any emails. He noticed he had an email from Commander Leon Lee with the subject line “Mission Briefing.”

“Let’s see what this mission is all about.” Oliver said to himself. “We have encountered a new material that would be of great assistance to the Inter-World Spaceship Project in Lunaria’s third moon, Muna. The problem we encountered is that the cave where the material is located is infested with strong monsters. Mission Muna New Material will consist of clearing the cave of monsters and analyzing the material more in depth. The spaceship to Muna will depart at 1200 therefore we expect you to be at the boarding platform at 0900. Good luck with your mission. Commander Leon Lee.”

Oliver became more excited about his upcoming mission after reading the briefing and couldn’t wait for Monday to come. So, he grabbed his phone and called Aria. After dialing her number, Aria picked up immediately.

“Did you read the email?” Oliver asked.

“Yeah, it sounds easy enough!” Aria responded. “Just kill some monsters and collect the new material. After only doing training for months, I am excited to fight!”

“I am more interested in the new material. I wonder what kind of properties it has?” Oliver wondered. “I guess I’ll find out once we get it.”

“You know Mom really wanted to go, but she still has a lot of work to do to make some of her theories work for the Inter-World Spaceship. I am guessing that’s why Mr. Kenta chose you!” Aria said with a happy tone.

“Makes sense, I guess Colonel Miyamoto values me as Mrs. Hashimoto’s apprentice.” Oliver replied. “I guess I’ll get to work on that material before her.”

“Yeah, Mom is going to be so jealous her apprentice gets to work on a new material on Muna while she is stuck on Lunaria!” Aria laughed. “It looks like we’ll be joining Platoon 12 for this mission.”

“Platon 12? It’s been a while since I saw those guys!” Oliver said. “Then this mission shouldn’t be too bad.”

“But I am glad I get to go on a mission with you, Oliver!” Aria said with an affectionate tone.

“Same here, Aria!” Oliver said with a smile on his face. “Aria, can I ride your Moon Unit one of these days? I’ve only been two times in one since I got my license.”

“If I submit the paperwork tomorrow to my superior, I should have it approved by the time we get back from the mission.” Aria responded. “Then afterwards we can go downtown to get something to eat.”

“That sounds like a nice plan. I can’t wait for that day!” Oliver said.

“I must go, Oliver! I have to help Mei with some of her homework,”. Aria said. “Good night, Oliver!”

“Good night, Aria! Sweet dreams!” Oliver said and then he hung up. “I love talking with her so much.”
