Flammel took a few moments to calm down and even then he looked at Hephaestus warily. To be fair she really did seem harmless most of the time so it could be quite the shock to feel that the exact opposite was the case. "While I am not entirely certain as to the difference in power between them I imagine Zeus is even more powerful than she is , though that may change in time." Nick said getting back on topic. "How exactly do you intend to face such a foe because from my perspective even I would be helpless in the face of such power." Flammel asked with a concerned look.-
"I will be stalling for time of course. Unless I am so unlucky as to be the first person that Zeus comes to after restoring his previous power I will be warned and have time to hide myself away so I can accumulate power. It is admittedly a pathetic plan but in this regard I am helpless as the gap in our power is simply too vast at the moment. You and your wife should also attempt to reach tier six during this time as I imagine you have converted most of your mana to your domains correct?" Nick asked after explaining his plan.-
"We have indeed done so after the world became as it is now , for us I imagine it was easier than normal as we have had centuries to accumulate knowledge and mastery over our domains which sped up the conversion greatly." Flammel admitted freely. Nick nodded in understanding as it made sense considering how the process worked. In a manner of speaking the Flammels were overqualified to be tier fives so naturally when the mana levels reached a point capable of sustaining them their growth towards tier six could be considered meteorically fast.-
Nick wasn't quite sure what the difference between tiers five and six were as Hephaestus said that he would naturally come to know that when he reach tier six in a vague manner. He wasn't sure if she was messing with him or legitimately couldn't explain it for some reason but he didn't press the matter as he still wasn't even tier five yet. "If you do get to tier six before Zeus returns you should be able to escape from him at that point though I am not entirely certain on that." Nick said seriously. -
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
"That is reassuring to hear though I am curious as to how exactly you came to house a goddess to begin with?" the old alchemist said curiously. Nick told him about the Slytherin library and the strange metal golems that the founder encountered and then sealed off in Iceland. He also told him about the ancient ruin and the the seal that Hephaestus was in that had a tier five dragon guarding it. Nick of course made sure to leave out the fact that the ruin didn't belong to a human or that the dragon was actually a Dwemer who miscalculated something when fusing their essence with an unborn dragons and got consumed by it rather than being the one consuming.-
Speaking of that dragon Nick had moved it to the lava area that the rest of it's kind had been relocated to shortly before the ritual was completed. This had resulted in the creature being uncomfortable for a few days due to the lack of mana but otherwise nearly unaffected. The reason for this was simply because Nick was afraid that the dragon would be killed by the god in the seal after they woke up.-
After actually coming to know Hephaestus though he had to admit that this was pretty far from the truth as she would likely feel bad about taking the energy back after she woke up since the dragon had clearly evolved to live in that molten metal. Not bad enough to refuse to do so but at least bad enough that she would spare the thing even if it attacked her. "This language is strange." Hephaestus interrupted the explanation to say in the French that Nick was speaking. "Did you just reverse engineer a language by listening to our conversation?" Flammel asked flabbergasted.-
"She probably did considering she went through my entire library in a few days despite almost none of it being in her language." Nick said not surprised at all. "It was annoying to break down each word and recognize the root of it before moving forward from there." the goddess said honestly in response to the old alchemists question. "I am humbled by your speed as it takes me many months and even years to accomplish a similar feat." Flammel said honestly.
