'Knowing the man's personality I should expect a visit from him once he leaves the hospital.' Nick thought before putting the paper down and letting Olivander know he was going to check out the Ravenclaw island today. "Oh? I had assumed you would wait for quite a while before checking that place out. What changed?" the old man asked curiously. "Dotty!" Nick called and the house elf immediately appeared in front of him eager to receive his orders. "Before yesterday I would have needed help getting to that area but with a house elf to transport us it is much easier now." Nick said honestly.-
Olivander smiled "House elves are indeed convenient things to have at hand for traveling." he said in agreement. "The plan is for Dotty here to bring Helena to the coast near the island before coming back to get the two of us or just me if you'd prefer to stay here." Nick explained casually. Olivander chuckled "I wouldn't miss seeing the home of Rowena Ravenclaw for anything , just the thought of it gets me excited." he said with an eager expression. "Before all that though we need a map of England to give Dotty a place to go with Helena." Nick said honestly.-
"Then we are in luck as I just so happen to have such a thing though a bit special." Olivander said before reaching into a drawer behind the counter and pulling out an old scroll of paper that was nearly two feet tall. Unfurling to on the counter Nick was surprised to see a real time image of the entire island with cities , clouds and accurate topography. "Whew , now that's pretty impressive enchanting right there. How did you get the weather to work so well without ruining the paper?" Nick asked seeing the rain falling on parts of the image.-
Olivander shook his head "As much as I can appreciate your enthusiasm I am afraid I can't take credit for the enchantments here. I bought this map while traveling in my younger days from a Egyptian wizard in the Kairo magical market." he said with a nostalgic look. Nick was surprised to hear this as a complex enchantment like this usually would have failed by now without a source of power or anchor but he couldn't find either. "It really is a masterful enchantment if that's true since it seems to lack the parts needed for longevity like this." Nick said in appreciation.-
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
With that matter settled Olivander closed up the shop and Helena went over to the map after Dotty went and got her from the room. After looking at the map carefully she pointed to a spot at the south western part of England opposite Plymouth by the Celtic sea. Dotty memorized this spot's detail before grabbing Helena when she turned corporeal and vanishing from the store. Ten minutes later The house elf returned and grabbed Olivander this time before vanishing once more.-
One minute later Dotty reappeared and grabbed Nick before vanishing from the store. As it turned out using a house elf to apparate somewhere was WAY easier on the body than wizarding apparition. Nick had the sneaking suspicion that it was because the wizarding version is not as refined due to wizards using the house elves for travel most of the time. Besides a little dizziness Nick didn't even feel the trip to this spot which was sheer cliffs all along the coast. 'The salty sea breeze and warm weather made it a pleasant spot to visit for a picnic if nothing else.' Nick thought with a grin.-
"As much as I enjoy the scenery I'd like to know how we are finding this hidden island you told me about." Nick spoke up to be heard over the sound of wind and crashing waves. Helena grinned and waved Nick over to a moss covered boulder that fit in perfectly near the edge of the cliff. He walked over curious what she had planned and after turning corporeal she brushed the moss off a specific spot on the stone to reveal a very familiar indent. Nick was speechless seeing this as he couldn't believe Rowena Ravenclaw had hidden the key to her home in plain sight.-
Pressing the signet ring into the indent Nick noticed his magical energy get sucked into the ring and then passed into the stone in vast amounts. He almost pulled away his hand in surprise had Helena not stopped him. "It's been without fuel for a thousand years but will not need so much next time." she explained and he relaxed. Thankfully the stone stopped taking energy after draining about half of his entire magic pool. The stone was also much different in his magical senses as well as it was now very clearly filled with a headache inducing amount of enchantments.
