"Reparo!" he spoke softly and the magic struck the haphazard pile of book remains and Nick watched hopeful that he could learn something about whoever built this place. It was slow going but eventually the magic finished running it's course and Nick sighed at what he saw. the few books that were able to be salvaged to a degree were repaired to that an degree and not a big one either. 'Whatever , something is better than nothing.' he thought as he started looking at the script written on the parts of the paper that was legible.-
{Strange lands I have arrived at after(...) , It's been (..) days since I arrived in this place and I have made several discoveries that (...) , I recently had a run in with the local race of men in this world and diplomacy fell through as we don't speak the same language , drastic measures need to be taken to rectify this.} That was all that was understandable in the first book and Nick made an inference based on the context clues written within these scant few lines. This was that whoever constructed this place was not from this world which was shocking.-
He had long theorized that it was entirely possible to travel to other realities after he himself had done so after he died but from his understanding it was extremely difficult to do while alive. Souls he had found were more energy than anything else so it took much less effort to send this energy to another place compared to a physical body well attuned to it's world. Unfortunately these books were in terrible condition and as a result were lacking the details Nick needed to try and figure out how this person got here from wherever they came from.-
Moving onto the next book Nick found a reference that he recognized and he finally understood why he had been having such a bad case of deja vu. {After scrying this entire world I have come to a startling conclusion , there are no mer here nor daedra (...) , My realization of finding myself in an entirely new reality has lead to a sense of dread setting in , I am truly alone.} That was the only legible entry in the second book and it told nick exactly what wrote the entry and where they came from , a Dwemer from Nirn was in this world at some point.-

This was an earthshattering discovery as the implications behind such a thing was insane for various reasons. It was a well recorded fact that the dwemer were basically all mad scientist types with little regard for other races being contempt and disdain. It was so bad in fact that the leader of them in a single part of the world went so far as trying to forcefully elevate the entire race to divinity rather than try and make piece with their enemies. This arrogant act caused nearly the entire race to go extinct as they zero summed from existence.-
Nick had a burning desire to know if this particular dwemer arrived in this world because of that act or if they had come to this world before that point somehow. Both possibilities came with their own implications and weight but both were different. If the dwemer came as a result of Kagrenacs folly them it was also possible that others of that race or even the majority of that race had been translocated to different realities. If the dwemer came via other means however it means there may be the key knowledge to dimensional travel somewhere in this place.-
'I don't know exactly when this person arrived on earth but I assume it was either after the gods died off or sealed themselves away or the gods never noticed them for some reason.' Nick thought seriously before moving to the next book. {An astounding discovery! (..) I have managed to leech off the magicka of the object to power my home I (..) The seals still hold tight but I shall persevere to discover what secret they hide from me! (....) I am dying , I almost didn't realize it but my magicka is consuming me to maintain itself slowly , I (...) weakness in my bones as I write this last entry.}-
'So this person seems to have arrived after the gods vanished and was being tier four but not by much.' Nick noted after he finished the book. Unfortunately even using the repair charm again and again did nothing to recover the lost texts which left him with many questions and no answers. He was hopeful however as there was mention of seals which means a god might still be here. With that in mind Nick left the room and walked to the door to the right of the center hallway/room and pushed it open.
