Sweet revenge(2)

Nick finished his current book in this time but wasn't terribly impressed with any of the remaining rituals he found. Most of them had effects he could gain from simply making a ring while others were borderline dark magic and were unappealing to him as a result. The reason Nick didn't just enchant a ring to do the things that his list of rituals did was simply because he either didn't know how they did so or it was simply a waste to do so. Why make a ring to see in the dark when a short ritual later and you can do the same thing without the possibility of someone stealing it.-

It wasn't exactly a hard concept to grasp all things considered and while collecting the ingredients for the rituals seemed tedious , it was a small price to pay. Nick turned into bed at 8:00 so that he was already long asleep by the time his housemates realized he was in the dorm. He wasn't surprised to see a certain elf in his dreams once he drifted off to sleep. "I will not judge you for your anger as it was justified , but that woman was correct in that you mustn't let it control you. It is easy to cause our emotions to bleed over into our work as we channel our spirits." he said seriously.-

"I know , it's one of the reasons I took my revenge so quickly rather than making the man suffer for his actions." Nick said with a sigh. Letting his anger fester and grow may simply cause all of his creations until he gets rid of it to be violent and dangerous. Nick couldn't afford such a thing as it would immediately end up with him shipped off to Azkaban for creating dark magical items should any of them get out.-

The elf nodded "I know what you fear and you are correct to think so , wrathful enchantments have always been seen in a terrible light , even in my own world." he said honestly. "I have been made aware of your idea involving ring wraiths." the elf said the last two words with a hateful expression. "Thankfully what you have thought to accomplish is not the same as the abominations from my own world. Rather It appears to be much like a trade and a fair one at that as in exchange for fealty they gain physical forms once again." he said with an impressed look.-

"It is a good plan and this world has a plethora of old and powerful ghosts who would no doubt be willing to accept this deal." Nick said with a wide grin. "Indeed , I take it your distant relative is the first you aim to have on your side?" the elf asked with a knowing look. "I would be lying if I said the idea hadn't crossed my mind but I will not be the one to extend that deal to her. She will need to ask it on her own accord instead to emphasize impartiality." Nick said seriously.-

The elf fell into thought for a moment before nodding his head in agreement "That will indeed show that you are fair in your dealings and I assume a failsafe on the rings will be in order as well?" he asked calmly. Nick nodded "I would like to do so but I am rather at a loss as to how I might do so." he said honestly. "Since you do not seek to enslave them the method from my world is not an option , perhaps a mix between motive detection and self destruction?" the elf suggested helpfully.-

Nick and the elf passed ideas back and forth for a while before the dream ended and Nick woke up. He would be lying if he said he wasn't eager to see the look on the old mans face when he reads the paper. In fact Nick was practically bouncing in place out of excitement at the prospect for an entire hour until breakfast finally came around. He got a lot of strange looks and murmurs when he sat at the table that had been repaired.-

Ron and Harry tried to talk to him about what had happened but he merely smiled mischievously and told them to wait. Dumbledore had a very bad feeling when he saw the look on Nick's face but wasn't aware what the boy had done. This changed when the owls arrived and he read the front cover of the daily prophet {DUMBLEDORE THE TERRIBLE? FULL STORY BELLOW!}. The more he read the paler he went as dark deed after dark deed of his was written clearly and concisely on the paper. He looked up from the paper at the boy and saw him mouth the words "Karma's a bitch." before cackling loudly.
