95. Will of the World II

95. Will of the World II

Inside a chamber within a gigantic disc-shaped spacecraft, Kuh Mi’ir approached a normal-looking crew member who is busy assembling equiptments.

“Seven of the sixteen Seats have already agreed to call forth our Patriarch from seclusion. I’m afraid that only trial awaits Master when we go back.”

“How many times did I tell that your worries are unnecessary? By now it should be clear to you how the other seats want to have the Dao Stone for themselves. Anyway, have you gotten rid of the rats?”

The normal-looking crew member is actually Rahm Rah disguised as a laborer. To avoid their mission being compromised, he had to join the ranks of non-officers to further filter any potential spies.

“The obvious ones had been neutralized. I’ve left two teams to monitor our trail and later, I’ll create another diversion so we could expose the remaining spies then we could proceed to our actual destination.”

“Remember to leave a tracking seal on everyone.” Rahm Rah sternly reminded while emphasizing on their rigorous security procedures. If not because they need to scan an entire solar system, then he would not even bother to have an expedition team with them.

“I understand, Master.”

Kuh Mi’ir wanted to ask another question however the magic communication device on his ear vibrated a little.

Kuh Mi’ir used his Qi to activate the communication device then said, “Didn’t I say I don’t like any disturbance?”

“Captain, we’ve spotted an unusual ship. Telemetry suggests it is headed to our location. I’m not too sure…”

“I don’t care what type of ship it is. Destroy it too.” Kuh Mi’ir interrupted.

“It’s emitting Divine Energy and I’ve confirmed the propulsion formation signature is from Mira Empire, Immortal Blood Sect of Mira Empire. We’ll have clear visual in two minutes.”

Kuh Mi’ir was taken aback when he heard Mira Empire. There are countless organizations in the Upper World but there are names of which are to be feared.

Their sect belongs to Andara Federation which is considered middle class and they had trouble taking away the key of Fei Hong’s inheritance from Immortal Green Mist Soul Sect however few organizations on the upper class will treat galactic alliances like a joke.

“Should we retreat now, Master?”

Even Rahm Rah was surprised when he heard the transmission and seeing his disciple’s serious look, he said, “They might misinterpret our actions if we do that. Since they are not yet hostile, let’s head to the bridge and greet them. I’ll take over.”

While walking, Rahm Rah change his clothes to a black robe to mirror his disciples appearance. As soon as they entered the control room, the two immediately saw video of a ship rapidly approaching them. The size of the ship is pale in comparison to theirs. Around 500 meters long and looks like a bark of a tree.

One look and Rahm Rah could already tell their guest has Divinity Realm expert aboard. He plans on greeting them outside of the ship to show respect but before he could give a command, he felt a ripple of spatial distortion.

(Captain I’ve detected an unknown energy pulsation and it’s messing on our transport abilities.)

(I can’t identify the source, sir. Clear on long distance imaging as well.)

Rahm Rah’s eyes squinted. What is more hostile than a greeting with their teleportation disabled. But why did this unknown ship choose to travel in true space as it approached them and not teleport in front of them. He wanted to avoid senseless battle but it looks like it is going to be unavoidable.

“Open the exits and ready the Particle Cannon. How many Guardian Type Mechs do we have?”

“We have 34 and 10 Defender Mechs.”

“Have everyone ready. On my mark, we’ll attack or retreat. You know the drill.”

Rahm Rah paused then looked at Kuh Mi’ir. “As for you, stay in command and help. But the slightest sign of defeat, sacrifice this ship and escape.”

The truth is, he wanted to escape first. As much as possible, he does not want to lose the ship as it would save him hundreds of years locating the Dao Stones. If things turn dire, then he can only abandon the ship.

Despite the imminent threat, everyone is still calm.

(Ship in range in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1)

The unknown ship stopped at least 1 kilometer from them.

(Captain, we’re being hailed.)

“Open the channel.”

The screen in front of them was distorted but a second later, the image revealed a woman seated in a control room with her face hidden by veil. She was alone.

Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.

Kuh Mi’ir took the initiative to start the conversation so he said, “My name is Kuh Mi’ir from Kyan Han Sword Sect under Andara Federation. We apologize if we have intruded your territory but we will….”

“There is a human on board your ship. Surrender him and I will give you a piece of what you’re looking for.”

The woman seemingly did not care about their background and interrupted but her voice was mellow.

Kuh Mi’ir wanted to respond but one of the crew members telepathically sent them messages.

(Energy trace is 1ST Phase Dao, 3RD Level Divinity.)

(Zero activation of offensive arrays.)

(No signs of companions. The woman is alone, sir.)

(Zero G63 Planaria Parasite activation. No lesser species or any human aboard, Sir.)

Both Rahm Rah and Kuh Mi’ir smiled inwardly in relief upon hearing the report however they are quite disturbed with what the woman just said that she has what they are looking for.

Upon hearing that the woman is an Early Divinity Expert, Rahm Rah gained his confidence. If the other party was of a regular sect, he would not even bother replying and kill her and destroy her soul. He still politely asked, “Pardon me but to which are you referring to when you said you have what we want?”

As soon as he finished his sentence, Rahm Rah felt something was amiss. He immediately spread his divine sense and covered their five-kilometer long ship. It did not take him a second to scan the whole ship and he could not feel any danger however his instinct is still on full guard. He prides himself with how powerful his divine sense is but for some reason, he cannot detect this threat.

After confirming that there is nothing wrong with the ship, he dismissed the thought of the unknown and non-existent danger as he might be overreacting.

The woman materialized a bluish ring in front of her then said, “Within this ring is a portion of the Dao Stones you’ve longed to acquire. It’s not much but it should be sufficient to advance your comprehension.”

Meanwhile, reports are continuously being transmission as Rahm Rah and Kuh Mi’ir watched the mysterious woman.

(The ship is a transport type and not a single sign of defensive or offensive weapons.)

(Mechs are ready. Awaiting signal.)

(There is a transmission from Team Zeta and they said they have spotted an abberant ship from 3RD Elder.)

(Fortress Transformation ready. Awaiting authorization.)

Rahm Rah listen to the woman while processing multiple telepathic reports. To a normal human, simultaneous listening and thought processing is an impossibility but not to their race.

Rahm Rah is thinking about their escape but upon hearing the report regarding 3RD Elder on their trail, he suddenly wanted to laugh. Earlier, there are many things that do not make sense and he is tempted to extend his divine sense over to the other ship and inspect everything himself but due to his careful nature, he did not want to risk offending a powerful sect even if they are being played. However, everything makes sense if he adds 3RD Elder on the puzzle.

He would like to know how this mysterious woman who suddenly showed up knew about the human in their captivity but more importantly, who goes around and gives away the most valued treasure any cultivator can have and treating it like a common pill and toss it away? He suspects this woman is collaborating with 3RD Elder. Unless this woman has decoded another Fei Hong’s inheritance and they have met accidently. But thinking how this woman approached them first, together with 3RD Elder on route, they collaborating is more logical.

“Tell me, do you know how long it would take for your precious 3RD to arrive?”

“Excuse me?” The woman was puzzled.

“Do you think you can escape? Your mistake is to mess around with me.” Rahm Rah gave a delirious smile. He believes there is no need to mobilize anyone as he is confident he can take care of the enemy’s ship himself.

In a blink of an eye, Rahm Rah vanished from his spot and appeared not too far from the woman’s ship. He floated in the vacuum of space like it was nothing. In an instant, his killing intent burst out and created two gigantic flaming hands imbued with his Dao powers. He plans on squishing the mysterious woman’s ship like it was a mosquito.

His display of power instantly turned the area of into horrifying and forbidding space that even the crew members behind him were caught surprised and almost lose control within that terrifying pressure.

However just as when his humongous flaming hands could meet at the center and crush the ship and capture the mysterious woman, he saw the woman outwardly waived her hand which released a cold and more terrifying wave of energy. The next moment, Rahm Rah felt as if something passed through his head down to his sternum, then to his navel and finally to his pelvic region. Everything happened so fast yet he felt like it was slow motioned.

Rahm Rah knew he had been sliced in half but when that invisible wave of energy touched him, he suddenly remembered how familiar the aura is. The same aura that struck an unforgettable fear and trauma in his heart when he had a glimpse of that cultivator who ascended to Immortal Realm thousands of years ago. He finally understood why he felt unusually alert.

“You’re that god who ascended years ag…. “

Rahm Rah could not finish his sentence as his soul dispersed.

Meanwhile, the crew members watched as the gigantic flaming hands instantly disappeared and was replaced by their Elder being perfectly cut into two.

Terror and fear painted their faces especially Kuh Mi’ir who just witnessed his beloved master killed and sliced like it was tofu.

“Evacuate the ship.”

Kuh Mi’ir shouted in panic.

“Captain, that “human” whoever he is our only salvation. I have already sent a team to manually search the ship.” One of the crew members still managed to keep his cool and reminded their captain who’s only focused on escaping.

Kuh Mi’ir was dumbfounded and thought, “Yes, that’s right. She wants him.” He can’t believe he was emotionally compromised.

Kuh Mi’ir slowly gained his composure. Although their mission has failed with the death of his master, the least thing he could do is save everyone.

He calmly sat down on the Captain’s sit and just as he could insert his Qi into his spatial ring to retrieve the casket containing Clay, he noticed that the restriction on his ring has been removed and there seem to be a fine thin and almost unnoticeable thread of Qi that went inside his ring. He still recovering from shock but now he found that his ring has been unsealed. His ring which is protected by the most intricate and detailed arrays has been undone by a mere thread.

Kuh Mi’ir imbued his hands with Dao power of flame and touched the thin thread. The thread is thinner than a strand of hair yet it could resist his power boosted on the 2ND Phase of Dao. While he was thinking if he should pull it out, he suddenly felt a cold gust of wind to his left then the finger to which his spatial ring was worn has been cut clean then everything went silent.

Blood dripped from his finger.

“Ha ha ha ha” Kuh Mi’ir softly laughed. He knew his time has come.

“May I at least know this expert’s name. I don’t want to offend this revered master in my next life.

“Midi”

Kuh Mi’ir smiled. He wanted to at least take a look at the face of his reaper but before he could even lift his head, the veiled woman who appeared like ghost flicked her finger delivering a spiritual mental attack and directly destroying Kuh Mi’ir’s Soul.

After a few more seconds, the massive ship was cut into thousands of pieces and slowly descended into the gas planet. All crew members dead.
