35. Schemes that Got Together V
The companion of the Elven Nascent Soul Expert picked up the limbs which were still warm and dripping with blood and stored it in his spatial ring. He then extended his divine sense to survey the area but no matter where he looked, he could not find anything suspicious nor any trace or presence of another powerful cultivator.
He did see the boy who should have been killed but not only is the boy alive and even the Horned Flame Lion and his master is missing.
Although he does not have a full grasp of what was happening, he is certain that his master was not reckless to abandon a plan which they invested in for decades.
Wherever his master went, his priority now was to retrieve the unattended Formation Pillars and retreat. However, by the time he began walking, he felt a faint killing intent.
As a Peak Late Core Formation Expert with vast battle experience, his sensitivity towards danger is extremely refined. Earlier when he surveyed the area, he did not find anyone, and if the person was hiding, it can only mean a weaker or an opponent of the same strength. Nascent Soul cultivators would not bother hiding.
Unsure where the opponent is lurking, he pretended to walk towards the boy he sensed earlier.
When he was a few meters away from the unconscious boy, an extremely fast and deadly sword Qi attack came slashing towards him to his side. He was ready but was not expecting the speed of that offensive and lethal strike. He used his left hand to defend.
Swish!
The attack penetrated his defensive Qi and even ignored his gauntlet causing deep cut exposing the bones on his hand. Demonic cultivators are known for their impenetrable skin and defenses, but this attack disregarded what he had always been proud of.
To avoid another sneak attack, he activated a talisman which released white thick smoke swiftly covered a small area surrounded him and after two seconds, he jumped out of the cloud and released a fire bolt to the area where the sword slash originated from.
Boom!
A man jumped out and evaded the attack and revealed himself.
He was none other than Mii Eit who had been sneaking patiently. Originally, he was confident he could eliminate Dal In and Chung Har’an with the help traps, but who would have thought the god of slaughter came to assist him.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
Earlier, he was about to retreat and while he won’t be reaping any benefits, at least he had gathered enough proof and information he can sell later.
As he was getting farther away, the fog released by the Defensive and Isolation Formation set up by the Elven Nascent expert caught up with him blocking his ability to sense anything further beyond one hundred meters. He remained on his spot and did not dare move as the slightest mistake would mean death to him.
After a few minutes, the fog slowly dissipated, and the tribulation clouds dispersed, and he could not feel or find traces of the Nascent Soul expert. On top of that, the magical beast was nowhere to be found as well. While he was investigating the area, the companion of the Nascent expert arrived.
Upon seeing the Core Formation expert up-close, he was surprised and could not believe that Elvens were involved. He was waiting for a perfect moment to assassinate the man but when he realized it was a demonic cultivator, he made a mistake causing his killing intent to be discovered.
"I was merely passing by and did not mean to offend this friend.” Mii Eit wanted to convince the other party as he prepared to leave and escape. While he could fight head on, he was not confident he would come out victorious seeing the other party was able to block his attack.
The companion of the Elven Nascent Soul did not say anything and released his Qi infused with killing intent to pressure Mii Eit. Then shortly after, he rapidly dashed mid air to attack him.
CLANG!
Mii Eit summoned a shield to defend against a huge claw made of Qi Projection created by his opponent.
Right after defending, he immediately released Formation Flags to help him counter, but as soon as he tried activating them, something grabbed his neck from behind. Mii Eit panicked and tried to strengthen and reinforce his neck but it was too late.
CRASHK!
Mii Eit's was crushed with brute force separating his head from his body.
As his head was falling, he saw a hideous zombie before everything went dark.
When the companion of the Elven Nascent Soul activated the smoke talisman earlier, it was to create a subterfuge to summon a fiend. After a few tricks to draw the attention of Mii Eit, he controlled the zombie successfully launched a sneak attack.
He wanted to capture the man for interrogation, but his opponent was able to injure him despite his defenses. Such people are not ordinary and will surely have trump cards.
While searching the body his enemy, he felt a powerful aura approaching swiftly from afar. He looked at the Formation Pillars and estimated it may take a few minutes before he could properly deactivate the restrictions and may not have time to escape. He can only leave it behind.
He flew towards the area where they killed members of the Blood Moon Sect and threw away the headless body Mii Eit. He then attacked the nearby surroundings in an attempt to plant evidence. Though it may not be convincing to show that the fight broke between these parties, at least this should help clear their involvement.
He then took a talisman out from his ring and broke it and the next second, he was shrouded by light before completely disappearing.
