27. Spatial Rings
Clay is inspecting the tiny coin-like metal he imbued with spatial space. It has been two days since he learned about inscribing Spatial Formation and almost all the materials provided to him by Sar had been used up.
As he perceived the space within the metal, he felt like an ant exploring the inside space of a drum. By estimate, once this metal is glued to ring, his new spatial ring can contain anything within sixty meters height and a width of forty meters.
While sweating, he smiled in satisfaction. He lied on the floor while recovering his strength.
“Easy peasy!”
If someone hears Clay’s remarks, one would probably assume that inscribing Spatial Formation would be child’s play but in reality, it is ten times more difficult than Alchemy.
There are multiple steps involved but in summary, it is like constructing a cylinder but he has to draw and paint them by parts and he can only assemble it once every part is ready. In theory, it sounds simple but maintaining the state of each part he drew and assembling them inside a tiny metal is the real challenge.
Imagine a line as thick and tall like a ruler then compressed to the size of three millimeters, and this state must be maintained in fifteen minutes while waiting for similar parts to be prepare, even Clay would not dare attempt this kind of inscription if it was three months ago.
After a few minutes, Clay got up and took out a readymade ring with pre-designed protective Formations then attached the tiny rounded metal on small crater around the ring then coat it with Bangsal'a Solution melted by his Essence Flame then let it cool.
The ring emitted golden rays of light and when the process was completed, Clay looked like he had been possessed.
“My precious! Ha ha ha”
Clay uncontrollably jiggled his body and danced feeling like a pop star.
As the bliss of having successfully created his own spatial ring subsided, Clay sat down and thought about his plans.
Normal cultivators use weapons like swords, spears or other magic tools to protect themselves but since Clay is a lowly practitioner, he has to go with an unconventional method and that is to use Defensive and Offensive Formations.
The only problem with this method is that, the more powerful it is, the larger the size. However, now that he has spatial ring enough to contain and store these items, the next step is to purchase at Tier II and III Lightning Obelisks. From what he read, he should be able to defend himself even from Core Formation experts with this kind of artifact in his arsenal.
Coincidentally, Sar Aran wanted him to concoct Core Formation Breakthrough Pills. Clay knew these kinds of pills is not available on the market and once he successfully concocts them, then he will use it to make a final trade.
For now, he will make sure nobody knows he has a spatial ring with unusual large space.
Clay took out the first spatial ring he inscribed. Technically, it is no longer a spatial ring as it looks like a pin-type earring and the space inside it is barely enough to contain half of his thumb. Since the first try is bound to fail, Clay had another idea in mind.

Remembering that time when he got enslaved after the Buaki Siege, his spatial ring was confiscated and he needed to be prepared.
Back on earth, some self-proclaimed magicians can hide things in plain sight through deceptive illusions and he would like to adopt this idea.
There are reason the best spatial storage is in a form of a ring and it is primarily due to security and convenience so rarely does anyone uses storage device in any other forms and Clay believes that if he turn one in into an ornament, most people will likely ignored it even when captured. In fact, he will pin it on the curved helix of his left ear to make it less obvious.
Clay took a deep breath and pierced the curved soft skin on his left ear then placed the earring in place.
He then took out all the items he had on his original ring and transferred them to his newly forged ring and stored it in his earring.
“A ring within a ring!”
Clay exclaimed then went downstairs and ate the packed lunch he ordered this morning.
Afternoon came and Clay walked outside the house to confirm that Sar Aran’s man really left and stopped guarding him. Since that horned rabbit incident, he asked a favor to have someone temporarily look out for him and this gave him peace of mind when he concocted the breakthrough pills but now that no one is around, he feels uncomfortable bringing out pill ingredients.
Clay walked back to his residence and while deciding if he should wait until Aunt Mabna’y returns before concocting another pill, he felt a ripple of familiar Qi.
Clay turned his head towards the nearby house and thought that it is probably a neighbor breaking through the first level of Qi Condensation however, it struck him as his residence is protected by an Isolation and Concealment Formation. Clay immediately stepped back and while he cannot feel the presence of a threat, he still ran towards the gate and before he could move any further, his peripheral vision caught the image of the source of energy.
Clay stopped his tracks and looked back. He does not mind being labeled a coward but looking at the origin of energy, he is certain he is looking at a snail.
After becoming a cultivator, Clay’s eyes had been enhanced to a degree that he can see every detail of the snail movements.
Clay had seen this type of snail as they are a common sight back at the orphanage and at Buaki mountain but this is the first time he had seen a snail that mutated into a magic beast. Clay is apprehensive and who knows if this creature has gained some deadlier skills than the horned rabbit he would rather have someone take care of it but before Clay could turn around, he noticed the food the snail is munching.
“Isn’t that the Awakening Pill?”
Clay remembered that time when he was about to lose consciousness and threw random bottle of pills in his attempt to divert the attention of horned rabbit and only when he woke up that he realized he was missing the first Awakening Pill he concocted.
He could not understand how Sar Aran’s men missed it and even his Godly Eyes was misled he thought it was an energy source of the Isolation Formation protecting his house.
Looking at the pill, is it current surrounded by a white viscous goo and Clay believes it was probably from the horned rabbit’s ability to preserve food. Unfortunately, they all died from taking a bit from the Foundation Establishment Breakthrough pill and imploded due to too much Qi.
Clay wanted to leave but at that point, he recalled one of his questions if it is possible to acquire Bloodline.
Without thinking too much, Clay activated his Godly Sight and when the snail’s Qi circulation circuit was reflected in his eyes, Clay was astonished with the sudden discovery.
Similar to the horned rabbits with limited number of Qi Nodes, the snail has lesser Major Qi Nodes probably around twelve but on top of it, Clay could see overlapping Qi Nodes separate from the primary circuit which resembles Aunt Mabna’y’s bloodline.
Clay is growing confused what to do next. He wanted to get rid of the snail but at the same, he is curious what will happen next. He is already aware that Bloodline is genetically inherited but part of him wants to believe it is possible.
“No!”
Clay got rid of his hesitation and decided to seek Sar Aran. It was due to his ignorance he cannot breakthrough and if he attempts any more crazy ideas, he might kill himself in the process.
After a quarter of an hour, Clay arrived at the guild only and found out that there is no one around except for two guard preventing anyone from trespassing.
