155. Revelations II
(That is an identity token belonging to Valmoor Galaxy and was issued by Gar Wahger Science Academy from Gar Wahger Federation Star System. The name of the owner is Mur Brung.)
“Alice, are you sure that’s what it says?” Clay’s mind is going chaotic just after hearing the name of Mur Brung. The first time he reincarnated in the world of cultivation, he had an encounter with this mysterious scientist and he came back to the same village this man has settled in the following reincarnation. The question is, why is he meeting him again all of a sudden?
(Captain, my scanners and computing ability is a quality belonging to S-Class spacecrafts. If this is a test that I have failed, then I recommend we set course to Ramdaman Zero for recalibration.)
“Do you have records about the owner of this token?”
(Comprehensive citizen search is an area considered lesser-significant within galactic database. We may have to issue a Mission to get satisfactory answers.)
“How much points do I need to spend?”
(At least a hundred and you currently have zero points available.)
“If I turn in the Kantrafeya Tree, will it suffice?”
(Yes, but please note that turning in the rewards gained during your trip will forfeit your rights to refund this ship. Would you like to me elaborate?)
“No. Set course to the nearest Federation station to turn in and converts my gains.”
(Aye, Captain.)
For a moment, Clay completely put aside his current plans. With his current state of mind, even if one of the great Masters of the Navarum would proactively accept him, he would ignore it until he gets his answer.
His last memory of his supposedly previous universe is that he should have been expelled and thrown out to another universe. But what does it mean if all of a sudden, he encounters one of these characters or the same people after reincarnating again.
Clay concentrated to remember his last conversation with Lord Lao. According to him, they have seen countless versions of the future and he wanted to know if there was anything that mentioned how far have they gone into the future.
“Alice, how many planes does this universe have?”
(Captain, there currently three planes of the universe namely Lower, Upper, and Immortal Realm.)
“And we don’t have a Mortal Plane or any Planes that are devoid or completely lacking of Qi and Mana, right?
(Yes, that is correct.)
The biggest proof he has that he had been expelled from the other universe is that, this universe does not have a Mortal Plane however this is not a conclusive evidence that he really did migrate to another universe. Even that fact that Mana exists here and can be cultivated, which contrary to his previous universe where Mana manifests as Death Qi, the reason this cannot be used as evidence is because at that time, Lord Lao said about the imbalance and the shifting of fundamental laws of the universe which were all caused by him.
Right now, Clay is thinking what Lord Lao meant when he mentioned that everything will cease to exist once a universe is corrupted.
According to the law of conservation of energy, energy cannot be destroyed nor created. Is it possible that they failed to expel him and thereby completely corrupting the universe and force it to restart and while technically everyone and everything re-existed, their previous versions were all deleted?
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
And what exactly does going to another universe mean? Will he meet completely different people? Is he expected to meet the same people with different names or personalities? Or maybe inside of one of the infinite parallel universe where something is slightly changed or have completely changed due to a result of an action?
If only it were possible to see these universes from an observer’s perspective. At least he can tell the obvious like the shapes, maybe the color or levels of energy.
*Sigh
This why he wanted to become a scientist. So that one day, he can understand how the world and universe works.
(Captain Clay, we have arrived at Ramdaman Zero. Automatic control is now being controlled by the base’s Defensive Tactical AI. Ship can still be controlled via Captain’s manual override.)
“Let them do what they want. Are you still able to show me the map to the Mission Hall?”
(Yes, Captain. Be assured that some will come to tour you around.)
“Great!”
Clay familiarized himself with the layout before getting to his feet.
*Clish!
“Welcome Captain to Base Zero. Please hop on if you need my help.” As soon the entrance opened, an A.I. Doll on a flying vehicle greeted him.
“I have a few valuable items to trade for Merits. Bring me to that place.”
“Copy Captain.” Clay said after he jumped inside the vehicle.
As they moved, Clay had glimpse of the area. From his estimate, this outer layer of the base which is the size of the moon is one massive stationary satellite and they are just on the outer layer of the base. The marvel of advanced architecture is truly astonishing if one were to pause and observe.
After three minutes, the vehicle landed.
“Please follow me and I will bring you to your destination.”
Clay looked at the Grand Hall. The building and the entrance is colossal he feels like entering a giant’s house. And contrary to his expectations where it is crowded and filled boisterous and lively cultivators, he could feel that there is only less than 100 people within this kilometer long reception.
While there is little people in the building, Clay noticed how everyone is almost avoiding his gaze. Usually, other cultivators would look at him in scorn and pride yet today, he feels like tyrant.
His guess is his dark-silver uniform and the 1-purple star on his chest.
“We’ve arrived, Captain.”
Clay looked at the hundred-meter door from bottom to the top then whispered to himself, “Just how massive other species are to have designed this gigantic door?”
*Clank
*Clank
Clay felt something scanned his purple ring before the door slowly made an opening.
“I’ll be right outside, Captain.” The mechanical faceless doll said as it stood on the side.
Clay entered the room. He anticipated seeing, huge chairs and furnitures yet as soon as he stepped inside, he saw a High Elven sitting on a regular office set-up.
“Greetings Captain. My name is Nivra, one of the supervisors of the Overseers within this reception area. Your profile as a Captain is not yet establish so we are unable to provide a proper welcoming greeting. If you require a specific tea or any form of beverage, please let me know and I will have it arranged.”
Clay had to take a few steps to reach the center before taking his seat. Then later, he retrieved two spatial rings from his storage.
“You can update my profile and set preferences to, “going straight to business”. Clay said as he handed the rings. “Tell me how much points can they be converted to.”
Nivra is a Rank 7 Ascendant seeing Clay’s actions, he can’t help but scoff inwardly. Thanks to his skill as a receptionist that he can perfectly maintain a warm and welcoming face. If possible, he would like his subordinates take care of this lowly human but since it is a captain of an S-Class ship, he is required to show up.
“The fruits can be traded 2,000 points apiece for a total of 10,000 Merits. The tree though, is non-convertible and not in a bad way. This tree can easily grant someone entrance to Hotspot Planet for a 3,000 year duration and under trading guidelines, you can only trade this for a maximum of 100,000 Merits which can easily be facilitated in this office.” Nivra thought that the items to be exchanged would involve insignificant items yet upon inspection of the spatial rings, even he almost flipped from his chair.
“Can it be auctioned?”
“Yes it can but value of the items should still not exceed 100,000 merits. I hope this human friend to consider his choices wisely. Since you’ve chosen to trade within this base, please consider the Master governing this Star Region. If you need anything, please let me know.” Hoping that Clay is sincere about his preference of going straight to the point, he did not feel the need to beat around the bush.
“What I need are information about specific cultivators and I may ask a few other classified questions however, if the answers are deemed too sensitive, then it can be refused. To show how serious I am with this information, I am willing to exchange the tree for these questions.” Clay may be new to being a Captain and may still have zero knowledge about his position but from his experience on his previous life and information gathering in a library, he knew that some of his questions may require higher level of clearance.
“I thank this friend for hearing me out. I’ll see to it that you won’t regret this decision. Can you kindly wait? I will relay you request to someone reliable.” Nivra stood up and slightly bowed with his fists.
