Upper World, Lutrania Galaxy, E-kelum Star System, Destich Planet Outpost

A gigantic cuboid-shaped spacecraft with a length of eight kilometers has just landed for resupply. While the ship is massive, compared to other ships, the size is but average.

The ship had a mission to investigate an uncommon spatial distortion which transpired twenty days ago. While it is common for spatial tears to form especially on areas mark Forbidden Zones, the type of distortion detected this time has similar signal properties similar to when deeper dimensional subspaces are forcefully penetrated.

They believed that a group of amateur cultivators must have used a forbidden technology to open a portal from the Lower Plane. However when they arrived at their destination, they only found a human floating in space barely alive and if not of his Essence Flame which triggered the cultivator’s preservation state.

The Captain of the ship wanted to ignore it but as a Dao practitioner, he felt a trace of an unfathomable Fire Dao from the Essence Flame so he decided to rescue the human.

Today, they plan on leaving the human on this planet.

Meanwhile, inside the infirmary of the ship, a human just opened his eyes. He is none other than Clay.

The last thing he remembered was that the Topaz Matter exploded and if that mysterious cultivator had not erected a barrier to shield him from the initial impact, he may not have had survived. Clueless as to why he had been attacked, he reckoned that it probably is related when he had the chance to inquire about Immortal Green Mist Soul Sect back when he traded the Kantrafeya tree.

Clay got up and sat on the bed. During that moment of explosion, he had to use all his strength to protect his body from the colossal amount of pressure from the sudden shift of unstable spatial dimension.

Yet today, his body felt invigorated. There is a bitter aftertaste on his tongue indicating that someone had rescued him.

“Mrrggghh!”

Clay was still collecting his thoughts when he heard someone cleared his throat.

When he looked to his side, he saw a huge well built man with a height of almost three meters looking at him.

Clay was not alarmed a bit and assed his condition as well as his surroundings. This giant cultivator looks like an orc with tannish red skin and two horns forming a ring around his head.

He wanted to talk but before he could open his mouth, the other party pointed on a bluish crystal ball on a table not far from him.

Clay understood there is a language barrier but as for what this stranger wants him to do, it could be interpreted like he wanted him to touch the crystal ball. He had once experienced this kind of information transference back at Gar Wahger planet.

He got up to his feet and walked towards the table. As he take a step, he realized he still wearing tattered clothes and realized all his spatial rings are missing and were caught during the explosion.

Clay ignored everything else and touched the crystal ball. When his hand came in contact with the ball, nothing happened but when he injected a bit of his Qi, the ball reacted and released a mysterious energy that crept through his skin and into his head.

He did not resist and after a second, he his head felt like it had been pierce.

*Arggh

Clay moaned in pain as he clenched his teeth. While thinking what will happen next, the stranger spoke again.

“Follow me.”

Clay was confused as he actually understood what the guy just said. It looks like they mysterious energy that fused to his head was like knowledge pertaining to language.

Seeing the guy left the room, Clay obediently followed.

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

There are many things running in his mind but despite his curiosity, Clay kept his silence as he walked. For now, at least he cannot perceive any threats.

After fifteen minutes, they finally entered a spacious hall where another cultivator was seating on chair like a king on a throne. Similar to the cultivator he just followed, this man has similar appearance.

Clay wanted to greet and kowtow with his first but when his Godly Eyes revealed that the other party is a Divinity expert, Clay bent on one knee and did not dare look up.

“Did you come from the Lower World, human?”

“I indeed hail from the Lower World. They call me Clay and I am but a lowly itinerant cultivator.” Clay humbly introduced himself.

“We found your body floating in space and while I could have let you ran out of energy and freeze to death, or maybe made you my slave, I chose to become magnanimous and decided to spare your life.”

“I am indebted to this senior for saving my life. If this senior has any instructions, this junior will be obliged. ” Clay sincerely expressed his gratitude. He was wondering why he had not been enslaved but it turns out his life is at the mercy of these unknown cultivators.

Seeing that Clay was submissive, the Divinity expert tossed a coin towards him.

Ting!

Clay looked at the coined that softly landed before him.

“I care not of your origins and what your intentions are and given your ability to manifest Fire Dao, I will give you a chance. Join the ranks of our sect’s Alchemy Hall.”

Clay recalled what Dalkaga said about cultivators with Fire Dao.

“I wish to replay this senior in future.”

The other party did not respond but after a moment of awkward silence, he said,

“You’re dismissed, human.”

Clay wanted to say something and express his gratitude but before he could speak, he sensed a cold and murderous aura like he is about to squished.

Clay clenched his teeth and extended his arm and picked up the coin. He then stood up and before turning around, he kowtowed with his fist then quietly followed his guide until they reached the exit.

When Clay had a view outside, unlike the moon bases he had encountered, there was only one ship currently docked and it is the ship which rescued him.

And not even seconds when stepped down the platform, the ship started to move and after a few more breaths, the ship departed.

Clay sighed as he watched the ship disappeared.

He still in disbelief they saved him and is not asking for compensation. If he had his spatial ring with him, he would not mind gifting a Heaven Qi Vein if he has to. Too bad the ring on his finger was on the hand which the mysterious cultivator cut and the other ring he has as a necklace, even the spatial earring was caught in the midst of that explosion.

He had always thought he had the worst of luck yet miraculously, he survived life and death situation and ended up with the mercy of good Samaritans.

Thinking back on the series of misfortunes he had encountered, it appears that no matter what he does, trouble seem to find its way. That time alone at Grizzly School, he hid his cultivation and kept a low profile to the point that he did not fight back and students would bully and pick on him yet after a year, some numbskull challenged him forcing him to escape which then lead to another trouble the eventually lead him to present.

Sometimes he wished he could just kill himself and be reborn and just start over.

As Clay is absorbed in his thoughts, a messenger from the planet’s Alchemy Hall had already arrived to pick him up.

“To be personally recommended by Kelum Race, you must have some real skills. It makes me wonder what Alchemy level does this friend has.”

Clay turned to greet his guest. “I greet this senior. I am called Clay and if I may be honest, the highest pill I was able to concoct is Core Formation Breakthrough Pill.”

“Ha ha ha There is no need to humble yourself. Sooner or later, you’ll have to display your skills. Not to brag but I am currently a Tier VI 2 Star Rank. It’s Alva, by the way.”

Clay looked at the Alva. Crimson eyes, wearing lavish robes, at least Rank 8 Ascendant but more importantly, there is a thin trace of Class Essence Flame which he cannot figure out but certainly felt superior to Heaven Class.

“I really am just an insignificant Alchemist.” Clay responded as he materialized his Essence Flame. Clay has no idea what being recommended means so he decided to reveal his Flame to set Alva’s expectations.

Alva thought Clay was just shy and playing humble but upon seeing the Essence Flame, his excitement crumbled. Had he known that the incoming guest has garbage Essence Flame, he would not have even bothered showing up.

Earlier, they received a communication that a Divinity expert of Kelum Race wanted to use his authority to recommend someone and since it is Kelum Race that is making a fuss, the expectation is they are sending someone with real talents.

And this prompted Alva to volunteer and take a break from his busy schedule with an intention of establishing a good impression and later exchange pointers yet it looks like he had been played.

“I don’t know who is so extravagant to pull this prank but this has to stop.”

“May this senior enlighten this junior.” Clay slightly bowed sensing sudden shift of Alva’s tone. At the same time, he opened his palm to reveal the coin given to him by his unknown savior.

Alva’s countenance turned serious seeing Clay’s cluelessness. Judging from Clay’s reaction and the coin he is holding, it looks like there is really an intent to be recommended.

“I don’t know what you’re looking to accomplish here but this is not a place to play around.” Alva took the coin from Clay’s palm and replaced it with a small rectangular jade. “You’ve never met me and I advise you that if you do anything that would tarnish my reputation, then I will have you feel what hell is like.”

Clay watched as Alva disappeared.
