THE SUBJECT OF THE LOG:
Dreaming Wolf, a young catseye, Sacredwoods hunter. Wolf appeared as a young adult male with foggy yellow eyes and snow-white hair. He had the strong, lean, and agile body of a hunter as well as the killer instinct of one. He had a boyish, quiet voice and spoke in short sentences that didn’t waste a single breath. From the way he moves to the way he thinks, this young man has perfectly adapted to the Sacredwoods hunter lifestyle. He donned pieces of leather that stick close to the skin on the vital parts of his body. After every hunt he fought, he kept a part of his prey as a ritualistic trophy. These small parts of wildlife complete his apex predator look while also showing proof of him defeating even the greatest of hunts.
ADDENDUM: A DREAMY FIRST ENCOUNTER
My first encounter with Dreaming Wolf was shortly after my arrival at the Sacredwoods. As I was flying low over the forest, a bouldermammoth caught my eyes with its gargantuan size. I comfortably perched and started observing but before I could even get a sketch, I saw Wolf. I saw how his body turned, shifted, morphed, and adapted at rapid speeds. The way he hunted was wild, ferocious, and primal. Furthermore, it was controlled, deadly, and perfected. Gemcraft surrounded his body and gave it canine shapes. His jaw widened and bared jaggy teeth while a thick white coat of fur took over his skin. The more his body shifted, the more erratic his moves became.
The hunting of the bouldermammoth finished shortly after Dreaming Wolf’s appearance. The white-clad young man stood hunched like the beast he was on the spoils of his hunt. His hands pawed at the massive tusks, feeling their surface before cleanly removing them one by one. His eyes never glanced at me but I could notice that he was aware of my presence. I dropped from the tree I perched on and landed before him. He communicated with his body as much as he did with words.
“Well hunted, young man! Allow me to introduce myself. I am Travelling Drizzle, log-smith of the free hearts. I’m here to work on a Sacredwoods log.”
His nostrils moved, he was memorizing my scent. The gemcraft that transformed his body was slowly fading, the beast gradually left us alone.

“Travelling Drizzle… I, Dreaming Wolf… You want?”
What he did after his slow and intense words will shock you, dear reader. He offered one of the enormous tusks of the bouldermammoth to me! For an individual as unique as him, this common gesture kindled our friendship and bridged the gap betwixt us.
ADDENDUM: SONG OF BODY AND SOUL
My appreciation of Dreaming Wolf deepened as I spent more time observing his hunts. He accepted me more as we shared the spoils of his hunts. He started explaining what it was to be a hunt-chosen catseye. While every catseye shares a connection to the wilds, Catseye bestows a guardian spirit upon the hunt-chosen ones. However, Dreaming Wolf told me that he has three guardian spirits while having more than a single spirit is unheard of. He explains this council of voices inside his head as a tug of war for territory.
The wise goldeagle is a calm, calculating, and cunning spirit. Dreaming Wolf respects the goldeagle’s way of thinking. When the goldeagle becomes the dominant voice, Wolf takes more mindful approaches to his problems. However, the goldeagle is greedy and selfish. It will do anything to win and conquer, and never afraid to make any needed sacrifice for it.
The mighty sandbear is a ferocious, powerful, and tough spirit. Dreaming Wolf respects the sandbear’s strength. When the sandbear becomes the dominant voice, Wolf’s physical effectiveness sharply increases. However, the sandbear is destructive and cruel. It will crush everything in its way, and never cares about the collateral damage its overwhelming power causes.
The wild ivymonkey is a free, feral, and laid-back spirit. Dreaming Wolf respects the ivymonkey’s soul. When the ivymonkey becomes the dominant voice, Wolf never wavers or doubts. However, the ivymonkey is lazy and ignorant. It will take the action that its instincts are telling without hesitation, and never follows the rational mind.
I saw three spirits shine inside him but Dreaming Wolf was wrong about them. It was still him, the young and talented hunter, shining the brightest among other voices. While I did observe drastic changes to his behaviors when the spirits took over, his soul always showed its wild flames.
