Walking down the stairs, Olivia began to think about what she should do after all this blew over. Not only did she try to kill Oliver, but now there was an overwhelming feeling of shame growing inside of her.
"Could I be... Jealous of Oliver?"
Olivia shook away that thought almost immediately. Of course she wasn't. He might've defeated a high ranking fester all by himself; but he was still the same brother she grew up with.
"He's still weak and fragile so I gotta protect him! But... Why does he have that look of conviction in his eyes now..." Olivia thought, putting her hands in her jacket pockets.
Reaching the bottom of the stairs, Olivia sighed as she began walking out with her head hanging down. Her callousness caused her to bump into a wall.
"Argh! Damn wall!" Olivia said, angrily.
She was about to punch the wall, but as she cocked back her hand and looked up, she realised the "wall" was Ren. He looked down at her, raising his eyebrows.
"Um... Hello?" Ren said.
Olivia immediately put her hand down and bowed furiously.
"I'm so so sorry captain! I didn't know it was you! I thought I bumped into a wall, but I guess your body was so hard and tough it had me mistaken- can I touch your abs by the way" Olivia said, incredibly flustered.
Ren was even more confused, but nodded due to a mixture of pity and shock. Olivia immediately took advantage of his permission by poking at her abs while making an unsightly grin. Ren felt a little weirded out by his subordinates' actions, but Olivia was too into it. Even if he asked, he doubted she would stop. After a few minutes of poking, Olivia's eyes began blinking as she looked up at him.
"Um... Why are you at Mr Sieg's house?" Olivia asked.
"What do you mean? It's my house too. He's my dad…” Ren responded.
Olivia paused for a few seconds to really get this information into her head.
"So you're Mr Sieg's son... And Katherine is Mr Sieg's daughter... So that makes you two...." Olivia said slowly to herself.
As if a light bulb turned on in her head, she perked up a bit.
"You're her cousin!" Olivia said confidently
"I'm her brother..." Ren corrected.
"Yeah I was totally off the mark... Wait, that means!" Olivia has a terrifying thought.
She turned around quickly and started running up the stairs.
"Huh?! What's gotten into you?!" Ren asked, shocked by how fast she went.
"I have to apologise to Katherine for all the shit I've said to her!" Olivia said, already at the top of the stairs.
Ren was even more confused, but he was honestly proud that she wanted to apologise.
"O- okay then... Um after you do that... I boiled some tea. You can have some with me if you want?" Ren said, not really knowing what else to say.
Olivia stopped in her tracks, before rushing down stairs. In the blink of an eye she was sitting at the dining table, lacing her fingers together while making a serious face.
"Yes I would love that thank you, Captain" she said.
At this point Ren had gotten so used to her antics he began to pour the tea without questioning her.
"Geez... just what kind of people are in my squad..." Ren thought, scratching his head.
He then turned his attention to the stairs, looking rather serious.
"But I'm more worried about that man upstairs... Apparently father called him a threat to humanity..." Ren thought to himself.
Back in Oliver's room, he sat cross legged with his arms crossed and a serious look on his face. Sieg and Katherine stand in front of him, both ready to answer any questions he has.
"Now... The first question I wanna ask... Where's my driver?" Oliver asked.
Sieg pulled it out of a bag before placing it on Oliver's lap. Oliver quickly grabbed it, hugging closely as if it were his child.
"I've missed you" Oliver said, tearing up a bit.
Sieg found it quite weird, whilst Katherine chuckled at his behavior.
"Well... there's your 'driver'. I've never heard a transformation unit be called that before. However I like the sound of it" Sieg commented.
Oliver examined his driver, checking it thoroughly for any changes they might've done to it. Once he checked everything was in order, he placed it in a gap created by his crossed legged sitting position.
"Okay... Next question. Why did you suddenly come out of nowhere to help me?"
"Well, a very simple answer. You see as your beloved handler, I ca-" but before Sieg could finish his sentence, Katherine interrupted.
"He asked me to stalk you for weeks," Katherine said nonchalantly.
Sieg turned to Katherine with a shocked expression before beginning to shake her. Well it was more like Sieg was using her body as a handle to rock his own body.
"Katieeeee! Why did you tell him?!!" Sieg said practically whining.
Oliver was filled with rage as he began clenching his fist.
"You stalked me?" Oliver said, his eyes narrowing.
Sieg and Katherine both turned to Oliver, laughing awkwardly out of guilt. It took him everything he had to not put on his driver and beat the shit out of the two. However after thinking about what he'd lose from doing so, he calmed down. Besides, the revelation gave him the opportunity to ask even more questions.
"... And why exactly did you stalk me?" Oliver asked, sighing.
"Cause I wanted to protect you from bad gu-" however once again, Sieg was interrupted by Katherine.
"He didn't want my mom yelling at him for getting you hurt," Katherine explained.
"Katie!" Sieg yelled again, this time looking even more pathetic.
Oliver sighed, dumbfounded by how nonchalantly they were being. Though this did put a thought into his head.
"Why did you call Katherine to stalk me of all people? Wouldn't it be easier to ask Olivia to stalk me instead? What is your relationship with her?" Oliver asked, looking suspiciously at her.
Sieg looked back and forth between Oliver and Katherine to make sure Katherine wouldn't interrupt him. Once he was satisfied, he took a deep breath and revealed the truth.
"She's my daughter- aha you couldn't interrupt me cause I didn't lie! Nye Nye, "Sieg said, sticking his tongue out.
If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.
Katherine rolled her eyes and crossed her arms before turning away.
"I- I wasn't going to interrupt..." Katherine said, her face slightly red.
In truth she did want to interrupt. It was the only thing she had ever wanted to do in life. Truly a pitiful existence to live, if you're not able to do what you desire. She teared up a bit.
"Stop being dramatic geez..." Sieg said, looking at her with disappointment.
After sighing a bit, Sieg realised how quiet the room was now. He turned to Oliver who looked as if he had just seen a ghost. His mouth was agape, his pupils were dilated and he was visibly shaking.
"HOW ARE YOU TWO RELATED?!" Oliver asked, shocked beyond belief.
Sieg blinked his eyes a couple times before tilting his head in confusion.
"Yes? Why?" Sieg responded.
"I mean like you don't look similar... Wait... Um actually now that I think about it..." Oliver said, holding his chin and narrowing his eyes.
He began squishing their faces with both of his hands, closely examining the two. The more he looked, the more Oliver began noticing the resemblance.
"No wonder you sent Katherine out to stalk me. I mean she is your daughter, and since I found this fact out just now, it meant that she would be the last person I would think of..." Oliver said to himself, his hands still squishing their faces.
He was too busy thinking about his next question to even realise what he was doing.
"Hey Oliver could you stop?" Katherine said, trying to hide her annoyance.
"Squishy...." Oliver blurted out, still thinking about what he should ask next.
Sieg turned to look at his daughter. The two nodded at each other knowingly before slapping Oliver.
"Hey what was that for?!" Oliver said, rubbing both of his cheeks.
"You were pushing it kiddo. Now we don't feel like answering questions. Right Katherine?" Sieg said, crossing his arms. Katherine nodded in agreement.
"O- okay I'm sorry! I was just thinking about what I should ask next! Please just one more question!" Oliver begged.
The two whispered to each before looking back at Oliver.
"The answer is n-" but before Sieg could finish, Katherine interrupted.
"Yeah sure" Katherine said, a huge smirk across her face.
She finally fulfilled what she had dreamed of. The shackles she was put in have been broken. She was now free. She teared up once more.
"... Sometimes I wonder if my parenting is flawed..." Sieg said, looking at Katherine with a blank expression.
Laughing awkwardly, Oliver began rubbing the back of his head as he spoke quietly.
"So can I ask one more question...?"
Sieg sighed before nodding his head. Oliver paused for a few seconds, really thinking about what he should ask next. Should he ask them what happened to Pierro? No he'd probably get that information back at HQ. Should he ask why Katherine's mother desired his safety so badly? That would probably be some family issue he had no rights in. As he began thinking and thinking, one thought couldn't leave his head.
"Um... Are you guys... Going to tell everyone about what happened?" Oliver asked, hesitation in his voice.
Sieg's facial expression softened as he shook his head.
"Don't worry. I won't tell anyone about your secret. While I am a high ranking operator, I believe that your safety comes ultimately first. If F.A.T.E were to know you had a transformation unit in your possession, let alone be able to use it... I doubt your life would stay peaceful and quiet." Sieg answered, holding his chin.
Oliver looked down at his bedsheets, gripping it tightly.
"Thanks... I promise I'll repay you somehow" Oliver responded.
Sieg smiled before he had an interesting thought.
"Actually... You can repay me now." Sieg said, still smiling.
"Really? H- how?" Oliver said, sounding a bit relieved.
Sieg turned his head to Katherine, gesturing for her to leave the room. She nodded, and left the room almost immediately. Seeing this, put fear into Oliver's heart. Even still, Oliver trusted Sieg. He wouldn't hurt him... Would he?
Pulling out a chair, Sieg sat upright in a professional manner as he narrowed his eyes onto Oliver.
"Now Oliver. Depending on how you answer this; I'll either help you out... Or I'll make your life slightly more difficult. Also I absolutely loathe liars... So answer my questions truthfully" Sieg explained.
A lump formed in Oliver's throat after hearing those words. He slowly nodded, before speaking.
"Please go ahead... Ask your questions... Sir..." Oliver said, terrified.
Sieg raised his head slightly before asking his first question.
"Do you want to continue down this path? As I think you should know... This path is filled with death and self loathing. You might start your journey with innocence, but you'll end it with pain and suffering. So I'm asking you... Do you wish to continue?" Sieg asked.
Oliver paused for a moment, before answering.
"I do... I've realised now. In the end this is a war for survival. There are no good sides or bad sides. Just the side I'm on, and the side I'm not. So as long as I'm on the side of humanity, I'll protect it. Cause I loathe the idea of losing those I care about… especially if it's because I was weak and cowardly” Oliver clenched his fist tightly.
Laying against the head of the bed, Oliver began looking out the window.
“...Besides, I'm done living a life where I'm content with staying on the ground… even if it's tough, I wanna fly to the moon too." Oliver said, conviction in his voice.
Sieg was shocked by his answer.
"No... I shouldn't be surprised... You're... Nevermind. On to the next question..." Sieg said, his expression softening.
Oliver sat up straight, ready to answer any question he had.
"So Oliver... where did you get this driver of yours? I've never seen a transformation unit like this before" Sieg said, holding his chin as he examined his driver.
Oliver began scratching his head as he smiled wearily.
"Um... Would you believe me if I said it came from a capsule toy?" Oliver said, laughing awkwardly.
Sieg chuckled, but once he realised he wasn't joking, he looked at him with shock.
"W- well it wasn't a normal capsule toy... It came out of a capsule from the treasure Fester I fought." Oliver explained.
Sieg nodded, though he was still confused by the driver's origin.
"I can hazard a guess and say you don't know where this came from?" Sieg asked.
Oliver shook his head, causing Sieg to sigh.
"S- sorry sir..." Oliver said, lowering his head.
Sieg waved dismissively as he closed his eyes.
"It's not your fault... Stuff like this usually ends up this way anyways..." Sieg said, leaning back into his chair.
"So... Anymore questions?" Oliver asked.
Sieg shook his head.
"Nah nah you basically answered everything I wanted to know" sieg said, standing up with his hands in his pockets.
Oliver breathed a sigh of relief, feeling that overwhelming pressure being lifted away. Sieg pat Oliver's head before walking away.
"Rest up. Tomorrow is a big day. Also don't do anything weird in here. This is still my guest bedroom after all..." Sieg retorted.
"Right I won't.... Wait, why is tomorrow a big day?" Oliver asked.
Sieg grinned before turning around to look at Oliver.
"You're getting a promotion," Sieg said before leaving.
Oliver was too dumbfounded by that revelation to stop Sieg from leaving. All he could do was blink his eyes and sit in his bed, stunned. It took him a good 2 minutes to recover, but once he did.
"HELL YEAH!"
Oliver's voice was so loud, that he could be heard throughout the whole entire house.
"Geez, what's his problem?" Olivia commented, rolling her eyes.
"Your brother seems happy doesn't he?" Ren commented, smiling a bit.
Katherine, who was sitting in her bedroom, chuckled as she heard his screaming.
"Huh I hope mom didn't get woken up though..." Katherine commented, placing down the book she was just reading.
Laying back down in his bed, Oliver couldn't himself but smile. His whole body was giddy and ansty, rolling around like a schoolgirl who just learned her crush liked her back.
"If I get a promotion... It means I'll be a B tier Investigator! Wait no, considering I killed a hyper class Fester today… I'll be an A tier Investigator! That means I'll get way more respect right? Also I heard B tiers and above actually get paid! That means I can give back to aunt Susan too!" Oliver thought.
He quickly grabbed his driver, lifting it high up.
"I think... Things are going to be looking up from now on. And it's all thanks to you!" Oliver said.
He couldn't be more happy.... Although in life, equilibrium must always be met. Which meant only one thing. Oliver accidentally dropped his driver on his face.
"Damn you... Sweaty palms..." Oliver said before losing consciousness.
Hearing a thud, Sieg, who was in the hallway, intended to check up on Oliver. However, his plans were interrupted by a call.
"Hello hello Sieg here!" Sieg said, doing a salute.
"You know I can see you saluting right?" A man's voice said over the phone.
"Oh you're stalking me now? How cruel..." Sieg said, smirking.
The man sighed, not wanting to deal with Sieg's antics.
"Does he know about the corpse?" The man asked.
Sieg shook his head.
"He's completely oblivious to it. Though I find it cute he calls it a driver..." Sieg said, making circles against the nearby table.
The man paused for a while before continuing.
“Did anything notable happen during the battle?” The man asked.
Sieg was hesitant but he soon brought up the fact that Oliver took pity on a Fester.
“He played with a Fester so it's last moments wouldn't be one of mockery. I couldn't understand why he would do such a thing, but it was quite heartwarming to see. Made me remember that he wasn't a total monster…” Sieg said, chuckling to himself.
“Is that so… hmm… I think I'll make a reservation at a restaurant. I'll send you the details tomorrow. Please relay the information to Oliver and Olivia. I wish to speak to them" The man said, robotically.
Sieg smiled before leaning against the wall.
"Oh? Sure. They both deserve a nice meal. Though I wonder why you're being like this. Did the tin man finally grow a hear-" but before Sieg could finish his sentence, the man interrupted.
"I don't need a heart. Something like that would only hinder my abilities as an Executioner" the man said coldly.
Sieg clicked his tongue before sighing.
"Fine... also, why did you let Oliver face off against a Disaster class Fester. Even if he had that driver thingy, a Disaster class Fester requires at least 5 A tier Investigators to handle…" sieg commented.
"I wanted him to become stronger. It's for his own good. Besides... I know he would win" the man responded.
Sieg smirked before raising his phone's mic close to his face.
"Wow what a statement coming from the great Shirou Mitsuzane... But I have to cut this conversation short. It seems my darling little moon is awake and she's quietly fussy..." Sieg said, looking at the blue haired woman hiding behind his bedroom door.
The man paused before apologizing.
"Please don't let me keep you waiting then... Also, thank you. For helping me" the man said.
Sieg shrugged before pulling the phone away.
"Of course, what're friends for?”
