It was cold and dark. It seemed like Oliver was back in that void once again. Though this time; he wasn't sinking. His feet were touching the ground and he could freely move about.
"Is this my reward for beating that bastard?" Oliver thought to himself as he looked around.
Surveying the area, Oliver noticed something in the distance. It was pure white; which contrasted with thy pitch black background. It was clearly calling out to him, but he was still hesitant.
"Will it attack me? No... If it did I would've been killed a long time ago. Besides... It's a dream. Nobody dies from dreams" Oliver said to himself as he began walking.
While walking he realised that he wasn't actually moving. The area around merely shifted behind him to make the illusion of progress. This realisation made him a bit angry.
"Hey bastard! You wanna talk to me right? So why won't you lent me get to you?!" Oliver yelled running faster.
The faster he ran, the more the figure began to move away. Even still, he couldn't let it get away. Whatever it knows, it must be important enough to make him come here again.
"Don't run away bastard!" Oliver said, closing his eyes and running even faster.
He believed that if he closed his eyes, the moment he opened them back up he'd reach the figure. However no matter how fast he ran, all that was in front of his way pitch black darkness. Eventually, he stopped, too tired to run anymore.
"I can't... Believe... You can get tired... In a dream..." Oliver said, holding his knees and panting.
As he began to recover, he decided to open his eyes. Opening it back up, Oliver found himself in a new place. He seemed to be in a house, specifically the living room. It was one he's never seen before; yet somehow nostalgic. Looking around, he noticed that the front door was opened. Walking towards it, he was about to close the door when he heard the sound of crying outside. Curious and bored, he stepped outside to investigate. The outside of the house was extremely bright; enough to blind him. He quickly used his arm as a shade before using the crying as a guide. It took him awhile to reach it, but he found that it was much less bright that before. He put him arm down as his eyes began to adjust to the light. Blinking a few times Oliver looked down at the point of origin for the crying.
"Mommy please get up! Please please!" A young boy with white hair said as he was sobbing.
Looking at what the boy was holding, he saw a woman with black hair and yellow eyes bleeding out to death. Oliver took a few steps back, feeling a bit sick to the stomach. His shock led to him callously bumping into a little girl and falling. He looked up at the girl, seeing it was a younger Olivia... And behind her was a man.
"Olivia...? What the..." Oliver said, dumbfounded.
He tried to touch her, but he completely fazed through her.
"Right it's a dream..." Oliver thought to himself; embarrassed by his forgetfulness.
Looking back up to Olivia, he noticed that was she was crying too. He felt really bad seeing her that way, and would give her a hug if he could. The younger Olivia turned around to look at the man before hitting him repeatedly.
"Why? Why?! Why did you kill mommy? Don't you love her?" Olivia yelled, sobbing as she hit him.
The man didn't respond, only blankly staring. Though, even behind his emotionless expression, his eyes were filled with an enormous amount of pain.
Olivia gripped the man's shirt before falling to her knees. Oliver instinctively tried to help her, but stopped after hearing something absolutely terrifying.
"I'm a terrible father... My daughter.... My son..." the man said looking down at Olivia, before turning to the young boy.
Oliver's eyes dilated as he sat up. He shook his head repeatedly, his mind racing in every direction.
"Huh? What? I don't remember this? And I don't look like that? What the hell? This must be a joke right? Yeah, just a nightmare! I'm just having a nightmare!" Oliver rationalized to himself as he began laughing.
His laughing seemed to catch the attention of the young boy as he stood up and began walking to Oliver.
"How long will you stay in denial? It's pathetic to see..." the boy said, stepping closer to him.
Oliver crawled back a bit, scared by the young boy.
"Shut up... You're not me... My parents died in a car accident! In an accident! And besides... you look nothing like me! You're just... You're just a glitch! Yeah. Dreams can have glitches too. Sometimes the human brain will mess up how you look... But... Human brains also can't create faces... So why... Why do you look so real?" Oliver said as crawled backwards.
The young boy was silent before smiling.
"Mommy said to always look both ways before crossing the street" pointing at Oliver.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
He was totally creeped out by the gesture, but also really annoyed as well.
"What're you talking ab-" but before he could finish his sentence he was run over by a car.
Jolting forward Oliver began screaming loudly. Olivia, who had been sleeping in a chair beside him, immediately woke up and hit him on the head.
"You fucking scared me!!" Olivia yelled, still a bit shaken.
Oliver rubbed the part where she hit him, looking disappointed at Olivia's rashness.
"Yeah yeah sure... Bet you wanted to hit me on purpose..." Oliver said, looking away and pouting his lips.
Olivia hit him again before crossing her arms and leaning back into her chair.
"Don't say that after I waited two days for you to wake up..." Olivia said, sounding upset.
Oliver was shocked that he had been asleep for that long; though considering the fight he went through, it did make sense. Laying back down with a sigh, Oliver looked at the ceiling with his hands on his stomach.
He was still hung up on his dream just now. It must've just been all the fighting and terrifying situations he's been messing with his brain, but even still, it was too real and detailed to be swept under the rug.
"Hey... Do you remember how mom and dad died?" Oliver asked Olivia.
Olivia paused for a moment to think about his question. Honestly she had never really thought about it. The only thing she remembered was that their aunt told them that they died in a car accident, and that they'd be living with her. She accepted that fact rather quickly; so she never had the reason to think about it.
"They died in a car accident I guess" Olivia said nonchalantly.
Oliver immediately sat up and grabbed her by the shoulders.
"Exactly right? Right?!" Oliver said, sounding desperate.
Olivia was startled by his sudden reaction. The only thing she could do was nod awkwardly, in hopes that he would let go. Realising the situation he put his sister in, Oliver let go and sat back down on his bed.
"Yeah... S- sorry.... I'm just... Nevermind" Oliver said, scratching the back of his head.
Seeing Oliver look so conflicted, made Olivia feel sad. She wanted to cheer him up, but she honestly couldn't think of anything to say. Because she herself had conflicting feelings she hadn't worked out.
"Um... Yeah it's fine. You're just tired because of all that fighting... Also... I'm sorry I like tried to hunt you and kill you..." Olivia said, clenching fists and looking away.
Oliver calmed down a bit as he turned to look at her. He shook his head vigorously as he began to apologise.
"No no no! It's my fault! I should've told you that day... But I was scared you'd kill me or something" Oliver said, laughing awkwardly.
The two sat in awkward silence for a moment before Olivia stood up.
"I- I'm.... Going out for a walk... I'll call Mr Sieg so you won't be here alone..." Olivia said, quickly making it to the door.
Oliver was about to stop her, but after thinking about it; the best course would be to give each other space.
"Alright then... Be safe" Oliver said, smiling wearily.
She nodded before leaving. Watching her leave, Oliver laid back down in his bed. After getting used to the comfortableness, he immediately sat up once again.
"Wait, whose bed am I in?" Oliver thought, looking around frantically.
He tried to get out of bed, but unfortunately it seems like his body hasn't fully recovered.
"Shit... Just how much damage did I take last time?" Oliver thought to himself, cursing his recklessness.
Remembering his fight, Oliver began wondering where his driver was. It wasn't on his waist anymore, and it wasn't anywhere he could see. He could only hazard a guess; and think it was Sieg's doing.
"Right, that actually reminds me... I need to ask him a lot of questions..." Oliver thought, clenching his fist.
After walking out of the room, Olivia immediately pressed her back against the door. She slid down until her waist hit the floor.
"Fuck fuck fuck... Why? Why does it have to be like this? I'm supposed to protect him...." Olivia said, holding her head in her hands.
Before she could have a full mental breakdown, Olivia felt something cold against her neck. She jolted up like a cat who just had its tail stepped on.
"Geez that was cute" Katherine said, laughing to herself.
Olivia glared at her before wiping the dust of her blouse. Katherine smiled at her reaction, wondering what she might do next.
"What do you want?" She asked, crossing her arms.
Katherine leaned her back against the wall opposite of Olivia as she took out a popsicle from its bag.
"Well... I was going to check up on Oliver. But then I found you sitting on the floor. You know it's dirty right?" Katherine teased.
Olivia clicked her tongue as she looked away.
"Just go check up on him. I was going to leave anyway..." Olivia said.
Katherine paused for a moment before tossing her another popsicle. Olivia caught it, but was very confused.
"It's not really your fault for not knowing Oliver was that crow guy. Don't beat yourself up over it. Also don't take this the wrong way. I just don't like people moping around in my house" Katherine said, placing her hands behind her back.
Olivia chuckled before taking the popsicle out of its packaging.
"You're a bitch... I hope we can work along better." Olivia said as she walked off.
Katherine watched her walk off as she chuckled to herself.
"I didn't expect that from her. But what should I have expected? Those two are full of surprises..." Katherine said, chuckling to herself.
Though Olivia walking away wasn't the only thing that caught her attention. She noticed a strand of pink hair poking from behind the door beside, causing her to sigh.
"You can stop hiding dad..." Katherine said, calling out to the man hiding.
Sieg walked out of the room, looking a bit guilty. He pressed the tips of his index fingers together as he lowered his head a bit.
"S- sorry... I just didn't want to interrupt your bonding just now." Sieg said, laughing awkwardly
Katherine rolled her eyes before making it to Oliver's door.
"Geez... Well whatever. We gotta check up on your little apprentice don't we? After all, mother entrusted him to you..." Katherine said, turning the door knob.
Sieg sighed before putting on a smile.
"Yes yes... Geez I love that woman but she made me miss out on my squad leader duties.." Sieg said, walking behind her.
"And since when did you like working?" Katherine said, smirking.
Sieg leaned forward with his hands behind his back and a smirk on his face.
"Since my two darling children entered my squad" Sieg said, chuckling.
Katherine responded with a slap to the back of his head, causing Sieg to help audibly.
"Meanie..." Sieg said, rubbing the part she hit.
Katherine blew on her hand as if it were a gun that had just been fired before crossing her arms.
"Well speaking of your children... Gege is here right?" Katherine asked.
Sieg nodded, which caused Katherine to sigh.
"Even more reason to stay in the room" Katherine said, pushing the door and walking in.
Sieg sighed at Katherine's response, but he couldn't change how she felt. All he could do was lightly discipline her with a pinch.
"Don't be mean to Renny. He's a good boy" Sieg said, pouting.
Katherine rolled her eyes.
"Yeah whatever. Now... You must have a lot of questions right... Oliver Rand?" Katherine said as she smiled at the determined looking Oliver.
