The two stood opposite of each other. Olivia was ready to kill, no matter what tried to stop her, while Oliver had no intention whatsoever to hurt Olivia. Two contrasting forces in motion to clash. A shield and a spear situation.
Taking one step back, Oliver was met by a blade to the face. His body instinctively dodged it, as if he knew that it would mean certain death to be hit. Olivia stood still in the same position she attacked. For a few moments there was silence, until she slowly turned her head to face him.
"Luck won't save you twice"
The way she said it, made Oliver want to just give up right then and there. However if he did that she'd surely kill him. Besides, he killed a super strong Fester, what's his sister going to do? So, instead he punched a nearby wall, causing an explosion of dust. Olivia shielded her eyes from the dust, giving Oliver enough time to escape using the hole he just created. As the dust settled, Olivia wiped away any residue on her coat. It was at that moment that she realised, she had been getting messages from Ren this whole entire time. She clicked it, and was met with only one sentence.
"If you pursue that Fester, you're fired"
"Fuck off"
After saying that, she threw the device in the ground crushing it with her feet. Cracking her neck, she made her way to Oliver. Despite the head start he got, the labyrinth that was F.A.T.E headquarters really put him in at a disadvantage. It didn't help that his fight with the Greed Fester left the place unrecognisable. Even still, all Oliver had to do was find a way out.... Simple right?
Just as he was about to calm down, the pillar beside him was sliced in half. He barely managed to dodge it, but he was more concerned with the implications of the attack. Turning around, he saw Olivia slowly walking towards him. He was confused how she could cause such an attack considering her sword lacked any ranged capabilities... at least that's what he thought. She whipped her sword, causing it to extend out like a flail. The attack left marks all over the room, it was a miracle Oliver didn't get hit.
"Oh come on, at least fight back? Or are you that pitiful?" Olivia said, her lips curling up into a sadistic grin.
Olivia definitely enjoyed tormenting Oliver, because to her; it was what he deserved. She took one step forward, then dashed towards Oliver. The whip-like blade surrounded her, acting as both a defensive barrier and an offensive counter. Oliver tried running away, but he was stuck at a dead end. With no way out, Oliver could only go up. Oliver threw up his scarf, using it to propel himself upwards. The force he exerted was strong enough to break through the ceiling, letting him reach the floor above. Though, the floor was no different than the one before. Another destroyed labyrinth that had practically no escape... Although, his little stunt gave him an idea. If he can't find a way out, why not just make a way out? The thought made him grin.
However, the moment he thought of that, Olivia was already on the floor with him. He felt a tad bit annoyed, since she ruined his high. He turned to her, and even underneath the mask she could tell the expression he was making. A disgusted look of annoyance that one would make if they were interrupted by a cockroach whilst enjoying beautiful scenery. Olivia didn't care however, because to her, he was the insect. She ran towards Oliver landing a kick right in his stomach. The armour blocked some of the attack, but he could definitely feel it. The force of the kick sent him flying back, crashing into two walls. While the attack definitely did damage to Oliver, he was actually happy she did something so ruthless.
"The more and more she breaks things without thinking, the more chances I can escape without being detected... Besides, I think I have a plan to save her too..." Oliver thought to himself, noticing the floor had changed from steel to white sanitary marble.
It wasn't long until Olivia caught up to Oliver, but the man had already formed a plan to get out of his situation.
"Stop running away you bastard... Fight me! It's no fun to beat down an opponent who's too scared to fight back!" Olivia said sounding completely deranged.
Oliver was disturbed by her words, but he couldn't really blame her. What he could do though, was distract her. Standing up, the masked crow began laughing.
"Well well well. You really think I'm scared of you? How foolish you are. I'm holding back, because I believe you're not even worth my time. Because at the end of the day, I'm the superior one. I'm a Fester, aka, the only predator to mankind. You can use all the fancy gadgets you want, but you can't top naturally born power" Oliver said, holding his face as he began to walk around.
He tried his best to imitate the Fester from earlier whilst ad-libbing some lines when he couldn't think of anything else to say. It was all for dramatic effect, but he could practically feel the embarrassment consuming him as he spoke. Despite his efforts though, Olivia wasn't antagonised one bit. In fact, it actually made her resolve much stronger. It made her remember why exactly she wanted to become an investigator. To destroy those who could hurt her loved ones.

"I'm sorry I wasn't able to protect you Oliver.... But I'll stop this guy so nobody else can get hurt... No more holding back" Olivia said, flicking a switch on her attachment unit.
The weapon extended out on its own as the wire holding onto all the segments began glowing red.
[Rank B attachment unit, Durandal: Burst mode]
The excess descent energy running off the weapon was like steam. It was obvious this weapon could use much more descent energy than the puny rank C attachment unit Oliver used from before, however that did come with some caveats. For one, the descent energy would deplete much quicker, however that wasn't usually the concern when dealing with a rank B attachment unit. The amount of descent energy leaking out of the weapon could cause serious effects to the user if they're not careful. This phenomenon was coined as "kickback" in reference to the recoil you'd get from using a chainsaw. This is why the usage of rank B attachment units and above are only permitted to those with proper training, or have the A tier and above. The signs of the kickback were already showing in Olivia, as her hands became scarred and darkened, as if she was being burned. Oliver could tell the pain she was in, yet her heart never wavered. She wanted to protect others no matter what, and if it meant being burned, she'd gladly accept such a fate. Oliver's opinion had changed from earlier. Olivia did mature, it's just he couldn't see it... Because he hadn't matured yet. He didn't realise that what she was doing from the start was extremely selfless. Risking her life, risking her job and even getting revenge to an extent was all done because she wanted to protect others; specifically him. Oliver felt awful, as all this time he'd been acting all high and mighty. Dodging, not landing a single on her, trying to protect her... They weren't noble. They were just excuses Oliver made so he wouldn't look like the bad guy.
Her rage filled him with sickening guilt… and terror.
Oliver clenched his fist, then began running.
"I'm sorry sis... For being such a dirtbag... But I'll be better! Although I don't think I'll have the chance if I don't escape so... Please forgive me for doing this!" Oliver thought to himself as he made his way to a specific room. However, this would be much easier said than done.
Olivia barraged Oliver with attacks from every direction, each hit causing devastating damage to the surroundings. If not for the healing properties of his armour, and his light weight, he would've surely perished. Stopping for a moment, Olivia took the time to analyse Oliver's movements. By estimating where he would land by the direction his head was pointing at and the trajectory of his previous jump, Olivia whipped right underneath his feet. Once the whip reached Oliver, his arm got caught up.
With a tug, Olivia completely tore Oliver's arm off. The smoothness of the attack, it was as if she was cutting meat using an extremely sharp knife. Oliver couldn't help but scream in pain. Falling down, his body began rolling like a can of soda; each roll making a dent in him. Oliver held the stump of his arm which had already begun healing, however Olivia intended to make the wound permanent. She whipped once more, although this time Oliver managed to dodge.
"Tch... Stop running..." Olivia said, looking down on him.
Oliver gritted his teeth, before looking around the room for anything that could turn the tide. Noticing his attention was elsewhere, Olivia became enraged.
"Hey... Look at me when I'm speaking to you!" Olivia said, retracting the whip so she could use it as a sword.
The descent energy that was once dispersed in each segment of her weapon had now been focused into one point. Such concentrated descent energy... Was exactly what Oliver needed. Right before the blade could make contact, Oliver pulled the trigger on his belt. The descent energy from the blade was consumed by the belt, causing the hit to be far less effective.
"Huh? What the...?" But before she could
respond, Oliver pushed the trigger back in.
"Finisher: Reversal.... Flick"
Oliver used only 70% of the energy he got from Olivia's attack, concentrating it on his fingers before flicking the air. The force created by the expulsion of heat and kinetic energy from his flicking finger caused the air to push Olivia backwards. She crashed into a wall, which should've broken her bones, but thanks to her quick thinking, she managed to minimise the damage by grappling onto a wall; using her whip to slow herself down. Even with the help of her specialised coat absorbing the impact however, she had to take a few moments to recover from the shock. In that time, Oliver used the remaining descent energy he had and focused it all on his missing arm. This sped up the healing process, which excited Oliver to find.
"I guess I can use this ability in a tough situation…" Oliver said, admiring his recovered arm. “Wait why am I so happy about losing my arm?”
Despite worrying about his priorities, the boy shook his head as he focused on the situation at hand. Not only had his arm recovered, Olivia had finally gotten back up - this time even more mad. Even though she was enraged, Oliver was less scared than before.
"Just know I absorbed all the descent energy from her attachment unit. While it's still strong, it'll do less damage. All I gotta do now, is get there"
Standing up, Oliver gave her one last antagonistic push. He smirked underneath his mask before doing an emphasized shrug.
"Wow you're so weak... Your squad leader must be a loser if this is the best he can train" Oliver said, in the most antagonistic way he knew how.
His words sent Olivia into a blind rampage. She began to chase Oliver down, with no care about her surroundings. Any room Oliver would enter, she'd just break down in an instance. No matter where he went, Olivia was behind him, ready to kill. However, that was exactly his plan. It was a tough 10 minutes of running and dodging, but once he saw specific beige doors, he ran right through. Olivia followed him, ending up in a dark room. She searched around for a couple minutes, but couldn't find a light switch, nor Oliver.
"So you're going to be a coward about it huh... Fine... Then how bout I do this!" Olivia said, extending her whip so it would hit the entire room.
Suddenly she heard a hissing sound. Like the sound you'd hear when releasing air out of a balloon,
or from a gas pipe leak.
"You're way too easy to fool"
