Chapter 2: The Lost Woods
In a forest, Link was walking around, searching for the Master Sword, ever since Ganon is now filling Hyrule with darkness, and the fact that his girlfriend Zelda had now became Ganon’s right hand man since she gave into the corruption that Gannon is now spreading, as Link witnessed that it also infected the rest of Hyrule, including the Sheikah, who are all now a part of the Yiga Clan, in addition to Zoras, Gorons, Rito and the Gerudo, with many now worshiping Ganon. Link knew that the Great Deku Tree and the Koroks were now killed off, but he still hoped that the sword was still there, so he can end Gannon’s corruption over the land once and for all. He eventually encountered the Master Sword in its pedestal, in front of the withered Deku Tree, now as dead as a husk. He grabbed the sword and lifted it in a heroic stance. As corruption is happening in Hyrule, Link figured that the Master Sword would help him out, and put a stop to Ganon's ruining of the environment, and seeing weird creatures he never seen. He continued to prepare for the purple and blackish substance that’s still unknown to him.
He would later see a yellow mouse-like creature sleeping. Link was cautious, but he carried on, but he suddenly got attacked by two weird humanoid creatures wearing green, and then got surrounded by corrupted knights of Hyrule, along with the usual enemies he fights against Stalfos, Lizafos, Moblins and Bokoblins. He took out his sword, and the yellow creature woke up and saw that Link was in trouble, and decided to help out the Champion. The yellow creature told Link through repeating his name that he’s Pikachu the Electric Mouse Pokemon, and wanted to help the Hero after that he is enemies with those unknown creatures. Link nodded, as he knew that at this point, he needed an ally despite doing this by himself a lot fight against Bokoblins, as he knew they were more powerful than ever. After fighting some of the purple and black creatures, and going across the forest trying to find the way out, they came across a person who happens to be Mario, who was unconscious. Pikachu shocked him to give consciousness, out of concern for the man, as Link noted that to the Pokemon after all attempts failed. Link was not happy that Pikachu tried that method, as the plumber was in a rude awakening, and was angry. Pikachu apologized quickly, and explained the situation. Link would ask Mario if he has any recollection of how he got there, after all, Mario looked unusual to the Champion. Mario remembered nothing about what happened to him, but was glad he found help, wanting to remember and to have help in a land unknown to the plumber. So then Mario, Link and Pikachu teamed up to fight against what seems to be turning all their homes into twisted versions, hoping to save them.

As the three teamed up, they find themselves fighting against some more enemies, and dealing with the maze that the Lost Woods is made up of. Link was already having a hard time trying to transverse the maze, as it was different from lost time, and he keeps getting upset. Pikachu had the same attitudes, as he was getting angry that he lacks his trainer, as he was used to traveling only in a Poke-Ball across forests like this, or following her around. Mario told Link that he has been in situations like this before, and he thinks he can get them out. Both Link and Pikachu hoped that Mario can get them out, as they have doubted it. So they went along still having to fight against some monsters on the way, including more of the green humanoid creatures they have never seen. Mario just got them lost even more, and the three argued, until a man with a wide grin, and a whole collection of masks appeared. He told them the path out, and said that he is the Happy Mask Salesman. The H.M.S. told them the way out, and Link and Pikachu just wanted to get out, although Mario was suspicious, as he did not know who this man was or even how he even has the plumber's mask. However, the H.M.S. was gone. Without any choice they followed his directions, and they all got out in one piece. The trio were relived, as Link said that he would like to head right away to Hyrule Castle, as he points to the direction, as he told Mario and Pikachu about Zelda and how he would like to cure her of the corruption as he thinks that the Master Sword could actually stop this corruption. The two were exited, as Mario mentions about his home at the Mushroom Kingdom that he would like to save Peach and the rest from being evil, while Pikachu agrees, he refuses to tell them what happened, and they were willing to let it go. They walked a bit, and saw that it was nighttime already, so Mario said they should take a rest before saving Zelda as he thought that Gannon whom Link told him about could take advantage of their lack of sleep, and Pikachu agrees. So Link decided that his companions might be right, so they decided to camp out, and wait for their siege on Hyrule Castle.
