Chapter 4: Battlefield Fortress

A castle in the middle of a barren desert, as a circular ball was dropped in the field, as then two R.O.B.s came along and opened up the bomb, as it counted down. The R.O.B.s can’t disconnect and are required for the bomb to function. Once the timer reaches zero from three minutes, it explodes releasing “Subspace”, a black and purple light that releases Shadow Bugs into the area. They all formed into those monsters, known as “Primids”. Those Primids were heading in the direction of the Battlefield Fortress, or the castle, which now has many other monsters alongside them such as zombies and many more. The Fortress was barricaded off, with many fortifications defending it from attack, but there were too many monsters to fend off against. In the watchtower, there was Deedlit, a high elf seeing with her own eyes that she’s screwed over. She was the only one there, as she escaped from her world after everyone there but she now worshiped Kardis, the Goddess of Destruction along with Ashram the Dark Knight as her loyal servant. All her allies that lived with her in protection were either killed, or turned evil. With her guilt, she knew she had to carry on, so she took out her rapier and raised it above her head. She went down into the castle, and saw that the first Primid had entered, killing it. Then she saw more. She moved forward into the castle, through the halls as she tried to escape, and saw that more monsters had broken in from many edges. She was surrounded, as then more minions arrived and then the general came, who was none other than Ashram himself. He said that he’s doing all this in the service of Kardis, and he now leads the Marmo Empire as second in command to Beld they plan on conquering the whole world rather than simply Lodoss, as they then plan on just keeping the war on Lodoss happen forever, as they were convinced by Karla, who took possession of someone who resembles Leiya, and then the Kingdom of Marmo is now in control since they are making the war last forever. Ashram told the elf shaman that he captured her, and plans to corrupt her into another of his servants as he grinned in a wicked manner.

However just when Ashram was about to tie up Deedlit and her into a portal, a katana wielding boy came out of nowhere and stopped this ordeal from happening, as he jumped in and killed one of the goblins. He killed most of the monsters and freed Deedlit. Now both are surrounded by more monsters. Ashram was not angry, and just told them to kill them both, as opened a portal to corrupt other worlds through the Shadow Bugs. The elf would later thank the katana wielder for his help, and he said no problem, as he did as he wanted an ally to survive the corruption after going through alone, and knew that she could help. He told Deedlit that his name is Crono, being ready to fight, as he states that the will have to deal with this before any introductions aside from names. Crono and Deedlit nodded their heads at each other, knowing they had to work together so they used their swords to mow down the monsters in their paths. They both pass through the hallways. They managed to get out of the castle and ran across the battlefield where they decided that they had to flee, and try to find a portal to another world. They had to camp out, as it was getting dark, so both Deedlit and Crono set up a fire, and decided to rest for a while. They talked about their situations, and what happened back in their home realities. Deedlit talked about how in her world, long after her love interest Parn had died, along with her other friends, everyone she knew among the mortals. All of a sudden with all High Elves turned evil, as she noticed as her close friend Leaf, and many started to worship Kardis, and then the Dark Lord Beld and Ashram, who got resurrected through unknown means and were now using the Shadow Bugs to corrupt Lodoss and the rest of her world. She felt down after talking about her experiences, as she had to escape, and found a portal which led her here to the world they are in. Crono said that after he married the princess of his land, he was bored with being king and preferred his old life of sword practice and killing monsters. However, all of a sudden Marle, his wife had became evil, and she’s now got the mystics, the Enlightened Ones, the Reptiles and the berserk Robots to take over the timeline, and have all Ordinary Humans, or the “Earthbound Ones” be slaves. Crono fought back to defend the people across time, but he gave up quickly, and found a portal to another world, which he took, as he had the Key that Lucca gave him, to see that the Shadow Bugs were apparently there too. He did not question how this came to be and just decided to go around slaying any monsters, viewing this as his chance to live another life of adventure, and thought that Guardia was just a lost cause, as he thought there is no way anything can go back to normal.

Deedlit was disappointed in Crono’s decision, but was worried that he may actually be right, that everything might be irreversible, maybe the corruption is permanent. Then she sensed with her shaman powers that Sylph sensed that more soldiers are coming along from the distance, and it happened that more Primids and other creatures are coming, but they seem to be different. No matter, the two have to escape, as the High Elf knows where there is an escape route from being there for the Corruption so far, so she leads Crono there. It was an escape tunnel that had a minecart, so they rode on it. The ride was bumpy, and they had to get off before it crashed into a wall, as they quickly got out. The duo crossed further along, until they found the light, Crono thought that it was fun, until Deedlit told him that she hopes she does not have to do this again, sighing to herself.

Upon leaving the tunnel and headed off in the distance as Crono was about to find the right place to open up a portal to another world, as he still has one portal ball left. However, they were now surrounded by many zombies and monsters, then came in Carmilla and 3 other female vampires, being Stella Lacarde, Lorretta Lacarde and Charlotte Aulin, who now have similar elegant clothing as the two sisters. The four were too powerful for the magic-sword users to defeat, and the four vampires claimed that they will take over this world, since Ashram decides to retreat and take over other worlds. They decide to turn them into vampires, so they used their monsters to hold them in place. The two magic-swords-people were scared about their situation, suddenly a golden two handed sword appeared behind Carmilla, then a mercenary grabbed the sword and slashed Carmilla with it, doing effective damage. The man was none other than Ike. He was able to defeat them all due to the Aether powers that came from his sword, the Ragnell. The four vampires retreated back into a portal for now, but sent out more monsters. Ike easily defeated most of them with his skills with the two-handed sword and his strength, then more came. Crono and Deedlit decided to help him, as they knew he’s on their side, as why would he help them if he won't. Ike was glad that he made two allies, knowing that saving people would grant him favors, as the elf shaman and the time traveler teamed with the Radiant Hero as they still got monsters to defeat.

They went on their path to defeat the remaining monsters, while running to a safer location. After that they made it to a cliff to rest for a while, Deedlit asked him what happened to where he came from, as neither she nor Crono have ever met him before. Ike explained that his world was also corrupted, as his friend Elincia was turned into now the Dark Queen also known as the Tyrantess of Blood, who declared a total war on Daein, and done a complete genocide of the Laguz races, who also turned evil and did the same and the leaders of both sides were in kahoots and want the war to last forever, as Ashnard took control and got resurrected, and allowed everything to happen, along with the Black Knight who also came back to life. Ike felt helpless with this confusion, so he managed to find a portal to escape and coped with simply taking down any operations by the villains and their many new minions that he came across. They both admired what he did to relieve himself, but the three knew that they now had to stick together to survive and be on the run constantly. Ike asked them both how they got to where they are, and both Deedlit and Crono mentioned that they have used these portal balls, as Crono showed, but he accidently dropped it down the cliff, as Deedlit and Ike got annoyed at him for this mistake, as Crono apologized for this mistake. Ike had none, but he states that they all may need to continue traveling to the north and for now flee any Shadow Bug monsters that may be in abundance until they actually can rest and hopefully find any portal balls that might be lying around. So then the three went off, and headed towards where they saw an area of green grass, as Deedlit sensed that there is another castle that is occupied, so they can rest there and maybe get help.
