Chapter 12: Research Facility II

Samus and Pikachu were now running through the Research Facility’s hallways, as alarms had gone off while they were trying to sneak around. As they ran, they made it to an elevator, which leads towards sections of rooms hoping they can find that Energy Tank, as they went through every, they eventually found it.

However, was on a platform surrounded by a deep pit. They crossed the bridge to find out that it has a password. Samus had no idea, but she can’t go elsewhere or else she and Pikachu will be caught by security. She tries to guess it, although Pikachu wanted to help, Samus was not in the mode, getting more angry that she can't crack the password. After many failed attempts, by putting in the wrong password over and over, further alarms went on, as the room was in quarantined as the doors slammed shut, glued together as if something was stuck with superglue. She warned Pikachu that they will have to get ready for what lies for them, believing this may be a trap. Then a giant mechanical robot appeared and tried to use its claws to capture them. None of Pikachu’s electric attacks or Samus’s arsenal had any effect. Then a blue robot appeared out of the pit, wall jumping his way through, grabbed the ledge and used a charged shot to destroy the giant robot. He landed to show that he’s Mega Man X, the prototype for all Reploids. Samus and Pikachu were suspicious of him, as they were unsure if he was a guard or not. Mega Man X had to explain that he’s not with the Mavericks who want to kill all organic life and reasoned with them that he’s here to defeat the Federation who do trade with all the evil organizations that exist through all universes. The bounty hunter and her mouse friend did not believe him until security happened, as the exit opened and R.O.B.s went into the room all saying that the three are under arrest. Mega Man X shot his Mega Buster on instinct, destroying half the R.O.B.s, and Samus followed him, realizing that he’s right, and was not on the side of the now evil Federation. Pikachu grabbed the energy tank that they needed, as Samus explained to him that they need the tank for her ship so they can escape to another world, as she saw that the Shadow Bugs have been turning everything in their path to be sinister. Mega Man X knew that, as he came to get it, as he had believed it to be a portal ball that has unlimited uses.

With enough talk, the Pokemon, Bounty Hunter and the Reploid went out of the room, and headed towards the exit, where they went outside the Facility into the park. Or they intend to as they try to make their way there. Upon reaching said exit, on another platform surrounded by a pit, the bridge back from where they came closed, and as soon as they were about to leave, Samus was attacked by Sigma, Mega Man X’s worst enemy. He tries to save her, but Sigma uses her as a shield making him hesitate, as then Pikachu used his physical attack to force him to let go, as then Sigma grabbed Pikachu as ease to do the same to the Pokemon, as he then mocked Mega Man X for his hesitation to shoot, and also the fact that he teamed up with organic lifeforms saying he is a disgrace to the Reploid Race. He said that all the Reploid in existence realized that he’s right about everything, that humans were hindering the process and that he was the useless one protecting such useless forms. Mega Man X spoke out, saying that he’s going to stay with his goals until the very end to eliminate Sigma and make sure that his idea of “evolution” never passes. He quickly ran, went to the side to use his Launch Missiles at Sigma to free Samus and Pikachu, as they stood by the side of Mega Man X. So then the three teamed up, and fought against Sigma, destroying his body in the process when they are finally done with.

However, Sigma said that they have not truly destroyed him, as he is going to simply download into another body. He laughed as then his body got destroyed. Mega Man X felt depressed that he can’t fight for his dream, but Samus said that they have to focus on survival for now, as she said that fighting against evil is hopeless, so they should try to leave to a reality that is not the case. The Reploid understood that survival is priority number 1 and with his two new friends, he can’t give up, as that goes against the legacy of Dr. Light and the original Mega Man. They went outside where there is a nice green outdoor atmosphere along with some ancient structures, as they were everywhere with the exception of the exit they came out of. The three saw Samus's Gunship on a parking, so they went there to start the installation process so they could finally escape the headquarters and head to a potentially safe world. They would have to sneak into there, as there is heavy security, something that Samus does not want to do again, but Pikachu and Mega Man X came with a plan to sneak in, as they said they could only install when the guards don't know they are even in the ship.
