Chapter 20: Colossus

‘Deep breath’ “........... Suzi is in critical condition.”(Samantha)

“...... ‘Deep breath’ Critical condition as in she is in the medical bay or starting to cause mass murder?”(Diuscrucis)

“Medical bay.”(Samantha)

Hearing this I immediately teleport to the medical bay that Mom created under the family mansion so I can see my sister. The bay itself is more like a large room split four fifths of the way through in order for the doctors and healers to have plenty of room to deal with up to three patients. The room itself has a full set of medical tools and has saved my life multiple time. The last fifth of the room is like a hallway separated by a large one way mirror and a heavy anti-evil steel gray door. The little hallway is only a dozen feet wide and a dozen or so feet long. Directly across from the door are the stairs leading to the mansion. When I teleported into the hallway, I was standing a few feet behind Samantha who still had my sister’s phone next to her ear and we are facing towards Suzi in the medical bay. Looking past her I see into the pitch black room with a glowing red monitor. The monitor has slightly brighter zigzag lines that are showing her heartbeats. One of her hearts seems to be beating very very slowly, while the other is going at a regular pace. The light resting on my sister shows how much she is sweating and the fact that everything but her head is covered in bandages. Looking back at Samantha, I put my phone away and phrased my next sentence as nicely as possible..

“Tell me where I can find the fucker that did this to her.”(Diuscrucis)

“...That… doesn't sound like the right question to ask.”(Samantha)

“It wasn’t a question.”(Diuscrucis)

Glancing over her shoulder to look at me, Samantha’s eyes glitter for a few seconds before she answers me.

“A giant golem next to the old Alamonian fort did this to her.”(Samantha)

“Thanks.’(Diuscrucis)

Hearing what I needed to hear, I teleport to the Alamonian fort. Appearing on the stone roof of the 100m tall round central tower, I start walking to the edge of the roof to find this “Giant golem” that Samantha told me about. ‘Boooom!’

“Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!”(Unidentifiable people)

Hearing an explosion and bloodcurdling screams behind me, I turn around and see the enemy I’m looking for.

{Samantha said Suzi was taken out by a giant golem right?}(Diuscrucis)

{Then this guy isn’t who were looking for.}(Diuscrucis)

The “golem” I’m looking at is a 130m tall genderless bald man with no mouth, ears, nose, or reproductive organs. It looks paleish gray and has huge glowing white veins across it’s body and glowing white eyes. Beyond that it looks like a giant naked human who is about to punch a hole through the central toweerrrr. Oh Crap! ‘Booom’

Running towards the edge of the collapsing roof, I jump into the air and grow a set of large, scaled green wings from my back. Flying to my left, I avoid his fist that went through the tower and into the air.

Ok. So it is a golem so, taking out it’s head should be able to stop him. Flying several dozen meters from this guy’s head I summon several dozen swords and launch them into his face. ‘Ting’ ‘Ting’ ‘Ting’ ‘Ting’ ‘Ting’ ‘Ting’ ‘Ting’ ‘Ting’ ‘Ting’ ‘Ting’ ‘Ting’ ‘Ting’ The blades bounce harmlessly from the guys head and fall to the floor.

Ignoring Lulu’s little statement, I fly further away from Colossus and get ready to attack him again. Creating machine guns by the hundreds, I possession hem around his head and fire. ‘Piu’ ‘Piu’ ‘Piu’ ‘Piu’ ‘Piu’ ‘Piu’ Hundreds of neon colored bullets fly at him and disappear immediately after hitting the thick skull. After a minute or so, Colossus walks through my guns and destroys them on contact with his face. Not paying any mind to the guns behind him, it just keeps walking forward. Looking at his skull that was no longer covered entirely in neon light, I see slight dents in the skull. Beyond that. No Gods Damn Damage! What the hell is this guy made of?! Magic?!

{The enemy doesn’t give a fuck about your tickling.}(Lulu)

Creating a super sized rifle that is easily 20 ft long and three two ft tall, I load it up with magic and aim it at this guy’s eye. ‘BOOOM!’ ‘Crunch’

‘Look of shock’ “Bullshit! That one bullet had more firepower than all the attacks I threw at you combined!”(Diuscrucis)

Firing the rifle. I watch in shock as the bullet flies into his right eye and gets flattened upon contact with it. As the flat disk falls to the floor, I turn around and fly away at top speed.

‘Panicked voice’ {I’m sorry! I was only trying to help improve your bad mood.}(Lulu)

{Try later. For now we are retreating. We are going to need to reevaluate how to handle this.}(Diuscrucis)

Flying several miles away, I land in a deserted town. It has farm mills, coal mines, a general good store, several dozen stone houses, and a tall red bell tower was positioned in the center of town. Looking around town, all the windows are broken, the doors are wide open, and roaches are scurrying around all over the place. Walking towards the bell tower, I see a lone man standing in front of the bell. He is a large red skinned man with two large black horns sprouting out from the top of his forehead. He stands nearly ten feet tall and is moderately muscular. His short hair is a flaming black that seems to be eating the light around it. His eyes are an oily black with a sinister glow to them. He is wearing a gloomy gray tracksuit and is staring into the distance behind me.

“Hay dude! Mind if I join you up there?!”(Diuscrucis)

Giving me only a glance, he takes a step to the side and goes back to looking into the distance. Taking that as a yes I jump several meters into the air and land on the platform in front of the bronze bell. Turning back around, I take a seat on the ledge of the bell tower and start swinging my legs as I look towards where I came from. Bringing my wings back into my back, I stare at Colossus as it slowly makes it’s way here.

“You know I only went to that fort once in my life and it was for military training. However, the month and a half I was there I got more combat training and history lessons than anywhere else. It’s also the place where I got laid for the first time. I’m going to miss that old place. It’s too bad that it’s now a ruin.”(Diuscrucis)

Holy shit! I’m talking to a guy who can kill me so hard my soul will be kicking its own ass until next millennium! Why the fuck is the creator of Hell here?! Looking away from him I just absentmindedly stare into the distance. Shortly afterwards, Hell starts talking in a low deep voice that was many octaves lower than most demons in horror movies. It also seemed to vibrate the vary air around him.

“I felt trouble……. Came to see why……. You?”(Hell)

“I came to kill that thing.”(Diuscrucis) ‘Point towards the distance’

“.....”(Hell)

Pulling a cigar from his pocket, Hell brings it to his hair and then hands over the newly lit drug to me. Taking it from him. I stare at it for a few seconds before talking.

“Why?”(Diuscrucis)

“You're going to die……. Think of it as your last smoke…….. Everyone deserves one before death.”(Hell)

“Thanks.”(Diuscrucis)

Taking a whiff off the cigar I start to smoke it slowly while thinking of a way to kill Colossus. After close to half an hour of thought, I finish my cigar and look at Hell who is currently smoking a pipe.

“Do you know a way I can kill it then?”(Diuscrucis)

Not saying anything, Hell walked over to the giant bell and touched it. The bell behind me immediately starts glowing a bright red and begins to shrink. When it went from it’s standard several meter size to being the size of a baseball, he tossed the molten piece of steel over his shoulder and at me. Catching it, I wince at the extreme heat melting my flesh until the ball went halfway into my bones. After a few seconds, the ball cooled down enough for me to pull it out of my hand with minimal effort. Holding the still steaming black ball with my good hand, I look at Hell while shaking my broken hand.

“So this is..?(Diuscrucis)

“It will kill it….”(Hell)

“And how do I use it?”(Diuscrucis)

“......”(Hel)

‘Sigh of defeat’ “Ok then. Looks like I need to figure it out. Thanks for the help.”(Diuscrucis)

Saying that I fall off the ledge and land on the floor. As I teleport back to my family mansion, I hear Hell whisper something under his breath.

‘Whisper’ “Good luck cocksucker.”(Hell)

{I met Hell. I got his help. Then he cussed me out as I leave. This is just ridiculous.}(Diuscrucis)

Teleporting into my old room, I take a look around to see how it’s faring. My old room is large with a king size bed in the middle of the room, a work station with old forging equipment in a corner of my room, an altar dedicated to me at the foot of my bed, and a bunch of spare crap pushed to the opposite side of the square room.

‘Heavy sigh’ {......Suzi.}(Diuscrucis)

{She seems to sleep on your bed and she even cleaned the room itself.}(Lulu)

{She threw out all my stuff. All that’s left is everything I told her to never touch….. She even built a shrine in here.}(Diuscrucis)

{When you used to send me to keep an eye on her, I would often see her by this same altar in her room. She must have moved it here.}(Lulu)

Saying that I look at the thing in front of me. It is a small shrine that seems to be made of hair and bones. Inside it I see pictures of Suzi and I placed throughout it with bonding circles and blood engravings everywhere. Looking at the center the altar, I see a black book with red runes on the top of the cover and a plain ring is resting next to it. Walking up to the altar. I grab the book and try to open it. As I touch the front cover more forcefully to open the book, I drop it and break into a cold sweat.

“Fireball.”(Diuscrucis) ‘Frooom’

“Ssssccrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeee!”(Black book)

Casting a fireball, I set both the altar and book on fire. After a second or two, I watch the black book hop around and scream. Taking a step back, I watch as the book wither away and turns to dust.

“I almost made a horrible mistake.”(Diuscrucis)

Unlike eating trespassers like those originals, These send their captives to a prison of their master’s design. The prison can only be accessed by the mimic or its master. After watching the fire consume the altar, the book, and my bed. I turn around and start searching through all the crap that has been pushed to the side of the room. After looking through it for several minutes I find the watch I was looking for. This watch is a small golden pocket watch that was given to me by an old friend. It looks like an ordinary watch but when you push in the top dial that normally attaches to a chain, It slows down time around it to one third its normal speed. Meaning, three hours with it is only one hour everywhere else. Walking to my workstation, I sit on the stool and activate the watch.

‘Tic’ ‘Tic’ ‘ti……’{Let's get started. Lulu. Record all the parts needed for this thing as well as how to put it together.}(Diuscrucis)

{Right away Dad!}(Lulu)

Activating the watch, a gray sphere grows a few feet around me and starts to slowly pulse a golden light. Placing the black ball on the table in front of me, I look at all my tools on the wall in front of me and pull a screwdriver and a handkerchief from the wall. Plugging up my nose to slow down my nose bleed, I start carefully breaking apart the ball in front of me.

- Several hours later -

‘c’ ‘Tic’ ‘Tic’ ‘Tic’ Turning off the watch, I grab the bloody bomb with my slightly glowing green hands. Putting the ball away, I heal my still bleeding nose and head towards the medical bay.

{I think that went well.}(Diuscrucis)

{Yaaayy! We’re still alive! You’re also in a much better mood.}(Lulu)

{Indeed I am. That little bomb we were messing with could have exploded but it didn’t. This may still prove to be a good day.}(Diuscrucis)

When I reach the medical bay, I see Samantha doing one finger push ups in a corner of the hall. While she is balancing her entire body into the air while having only one finger on the ground, I can faintly hear her counting in the 950 something range. Her long blue hair rests perfectly on her back and her balarrr. I mean valkyrie uniform seems to be in perfect condition. If anything, She seems a lot more lean than she did the last time I saw her.

“Hay Samantha! I need your help.”(Diuscrucis)

“Give me a minute.”(Samantha)

Giving me a quick response, Samantha pushes herself off the floor with one finger and does a flip in the air before landing on her feet.

‘Clap’ ‘Clap’ ‘Clap’ “Great landing. 9 out of 10. Some of your hair went past your ears.”(Diuscrucis)

‘Slight pout’ ‘Whisper’ “I almost had it. ‘Regular voice’ So what do you need my help for and…. Why are you lightly glowing green?”(Samantha)

“Oh this? This is just some minor radiation poisoning. Nothing to worry about.”(Diuscrucis)

After hearing me say that, Samantha went from having her normal calm demeanor to looking annoyed.

“You just got back and the first thing you do is leave and get radiation poisoning. What would your mom and sister think if they saw you like this? I mean umm!!! Sorry.”(Samantha)

“It’s all right I have more or less moved on. Now what would they say…. Mom would be like. ‘Imitating mom’s voice with over exaggerated hand movements’ Oh Diuscrucis! You have made a new technological advancement that puts all but the most powerful of Demons to shame! Give Mommy a hug! ‘Kiss’ ‘Kiss’ ‘Kiss’ ‘Regular voice’ Suzi would be all like. ‘Imitating a pouty Suzi with dead eyes’ Why didn’t you get more radiation poison? If you did then you would be forced to be in the medical bay and I will be able to take care off you for a long time… Hehe….”(Diuscrucis) ‘Crooked smile’

“........Ok but what would they say if they didn’t have a few screws loose?”(Samantha)

‘Sigh’ Fine. I will be more careful in the future.”(Diuscrucis)

“Good.”(Samantha) ‘Slight smile’

“Now onto the matter at hand. I need your help to kill the giant golem.”(Diuscrucis)

“What do you need me to do?”(Samantha)

“I need you to distract it while I make a hole big enough for me to drop a bomb into the back of it’s neck.”(Diuscrucis)

“How big is the bomb?”(Samantha)

Polling the black ball out to show Samantha, She looks at it and drops to her knees to pray. After she a few minutes she gets up and looks at me with determination.

“Let’s do this!”(Samantha)

“Cool. I’m going to call Suzi’s phone and I want you to keep the call going so if we need to communicate during the fight, we can.”(Diuscrucis)

Saying that I call her phone but before it can even ring, Samantha already picked up the call and placed the phone in a breast pocket that I didn’t even know she had.

“Two questions. Firstly, where did that breast pocket come from?”(Diuscrucis)

“Suzi altered the armor a bit.”(Samantha)

“Ok. Lastly, What time is it?”(Diuscrucis)

“About 4am, why do you ask?”(Samantha)

“Gods my night’s nearly over. ‘Sigh’ Let's teleport to its location.”(Diuscrucis)

“You know full well I can't teleport Diuscrucis.”(Samantha)

“Just leave it to me.”(Diuscrucis)

Grabbing Samantha my the hand, I teleport us a few miles from the nameless town I was at earlier. After letting go of the blushing girl’s hand, I look around for Colossus.

“I see him. Samantha. Stop your daydreaming and let’s go.”(Diuscrucis)

Finding Colossus in the distance, I look at Samantha to tell her and find that she is looking off into empty space. Snapping her back to reality, I release my black and white wings and we set off to fight Colossus. After a short flight, Samantha flies in front of the golem and started attacking it. Seeing it focus on her I move to the back of it’s neck and create two pick axes. I then immediately start attacking a small concentrated area of the golem’s neck. After a few minutes, I hear Samantha releasing a cry from the the phone.

‘Musical high note’ “AAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!”(Samantha)

Before I stop to see if she was ok, I hear her voice come around the golem and I am filled with a newfound determination to blow this fucker up. Ignoring the notice that just popped up, I start to redouble my efforts. Every attack of mine soon started chipping away armor far faster than the tiny dents and scratches I was creating earlier. After a minute or so of work. I finally made a hole big enough for the bomb. Placing it in the hole, I call out to Samantha.

“You need to go! Now! You have one minute.”(Diuscrucis)

“Got it! What about you?”(Samantha)

“Don’t worry. We’ll meet again.”(Diuscrucis)

Saying that I turned off my phone and started counting 60 seconds. When I finished, I create a small pistol and shot the bomb at point blank range.

{We died again Dad. That’s twice in one night.}(Lulu)

{Yup. The worst part is that the explosion happened so fast that we didn’t even register the sound or the pain…… I want a nap.”(Diuscrucis)

Opening my eyes, I look around the area I am in. After a few seconds I realize that I am in my home. The room I am in is a study and it is mostly covered wall to wall in books. The center of the room is clean with a single gray recliner being the only seat in the room. Looking across from the recliner I see the grandfather clock in front of me saying that it is currently 4:57 am.

“Looks like I have an hour to power nap.”(Diuscrucis)

Getting off the floor I lean back into the chair and get ready to nap. Before my consciousness fades, I hear faint voices from outside the room.

“Are you sure what that man said is correct Vali?”(???)

“I’m sure. That man had a high opinion of Revaline and he said that she should be living here with some kind of reaper.”(Vali)

“I hope this reaper is friendly…”(???)

Opening my eyes I start getting up from my chair.

‘Sigh’ ‘Whisper’ “For fucking…… ‘Small shout’ Tonight is just one fine damn productive evening!!!”(Diuscrucis)
