Chapter 13: Tomo’s training (part 2)

“It looks like we have a long way to go.”(Diuscrucis)

“So how long did it take?”(Crescendo)

“About a year and a half.(Diuscrucis)

“Why are you asking that Crescendo?”(Samantha)

“I was wondering how long it took him to make her want his dick.”(Crescendo)

“What?! I was referring to how long it took me to train her on how to fight. I don’t know when she started wanting sex.”(Diuscrucis)

“To bad. I was hoping to get a few pointers.”(Crescendo)

“For the last time Crescendo! Angels do not mind-break people!”(Samantha)

“Come now Sammy. I was only curious.”(Crescendo)

“The answer is still no!”(Samantha)

I wonder if she realizes that the stunt she pulled less than a hour ago can be considered mind-breaking?

“How did you train her?”(Death)

“Just beat the shit out of her, made her use the proper form when practicing, killed her a few hundred times, and lots of exercise. you know, the simple Underworld training stuff.”(Diuscrucis)

“I can see why she turned into such a fierce little monster. Now where were we in the story?”(Death)

“I’ll continue from the day we started heading toward west zone.”(Diuscrucis)

* Several thousand years earlier -

* Three weeks after training starts -

“I’m impressed. Ever since you changed “Student” from being a sub profession to being your primary one, you improve greatly with every fight.”(Diuscrucis)

“I still have a long way to go before I can beat you sensei.”(Tomo)

“That may be true but, I am happy with the progress you’ve made. Now let’s head out. I want to reach the west zone as soon as possible.”(Diuscrucis)

“May I have one last match before we leave sensei?”(Tomo)

“Sure. This will make the 300 thousandth match. Let's see who wins. I hope you don’t mind but, I'm getting bored of this bleak white scenery.” ‘Clap’ ‘Clap’(Diuscrucis)

Clapping my hands, the space around us changed. It went from being a white void to being a clearing next to some castle walls. The sky has a beautiful sunset. To the right of us is a large brick wall spanning a few dozen meters in all directions. To our left is a sparse forest with tall peach trees. In the clearing, Tomo and I are standing a few meters from each other and she is getting ready to start the battle. Facing her I smile and motioned for her to make the first move.

{She’s gotten a lot better compared to when we started.}(Lulu)

{I know. Now she can make any piece of her leather armor harder than most metals. Her belt shoots its spikes like bullets. She even learned how to turn her bandana into a kind of whip.}(Diuscrucis)

{At least she wears it on her head now instead of on her face.}(Lulu)

“Why didn’t you change the scenery before now?”(Tomo)

“I didn’t feel like it.”(Diuscrucis)

“.......And why did you change it to this scenery?(Tomo)

“I thought it would look great for our last fight in this training room. Also, I’m going to hold back in this next fight. This way you can actually get a real fight instead of me wiping the floor with you every five seconds or so.”(Diuscrucis)

“Ok. Firstly, in the last few hundred fights I lasted longer than a minute.”(Tomo)

“Usually only by a few seconds.”(Diuscrucis)

‘Sigh’ “Then let's see how much I’ve improved over these last few weeks.”(Tomo)

After pulling out her sword, Tomo started charging at me. Pulling out a pitch black claymore from my shadow, I got ready to block her attack. About half way towards me she jumps the rest of the way with an overhand swing. ‘Cling’ Deflecting the blow with my sword, she is pushed to my right. ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ After crossing swords a few times we are put into a stalemate with our swords pushing against each other in an X shape. Swiping my foot under hers I forced her to trip. As she tried to catch herself, I knocked her sword into the air and grabbed her by the throat. Lifting her off the floor I throw her at the wall. changing my grip on the sword, I throw it at her like it was a spear. Grabbing her sword as it fell to the ground I started running at her. Hitting the wall hard, she coughs out some blood. As my sword reached her, she leaned her head to the left and managed to avoid getting stabbed in the face. Seeing me closing in she pulled my sword out of the wall and ran at me. ‘Cling’ ‘Clang’ as we reached each other our swords breathily met. I was aiming for her lungs with a stabbing motion and she diverted the attack with her sword. When my sword was no longer in the process of stabbing her, she threw the sword towards the forest and took off her bandana. When I saw that my attack was deflected, I changed my hand motion from a stab to a swing. Before it could reach her armor, Tomo blocked the attack with the bandana.

{Ha! She’s learning.}(Diuscrucis)

{I’m just wondering why she threw away the sword.}(Lulu)

Smiling, Tomo did a backflip into the air and used her bandana like a long pole. It extended several meters and flew at me at high speeds. Stepping to the right, I avoided getting hit and her attacked impaled the ground next to me. Looking at the part of the bandana stuck in the floor, I couldn’t help feeling excited. If I was a few hundred levels lower then she would have made a great training partner. The bandana rapidly shrunk as it went back into Tomo's hand. Watching it go back into her hand, I noticed that she was running toward the sword that she threw to the forest earlier. Running after her, I get ready to stab her in the back. Before I can reach her, she dives for the sword and picks it up. Turning mid roll, she jumps at me. ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ ‘Cling’ When our swords collided, we were both pushed back several meters. We would then jump back at each other immediately after landing. Every time our swords met, the area around us would shake a little and we would be pushed a little to the side. After going in a circle with a few dozen hits, we started landing on trees and started going higher into the air. Reaching the top of the tree line we flew at each other.

‘Ug!”(Tomo)

When we met in the air. I used the sword to block while I sucker punched her in the stomach. As she flew higher into the air, I landed on the floor. Looking up I can see her falling while performing flips in the air. She was holding her sword in a hacking motion. Getting ready to receive her attack, I put my sword in the air and waited for her to reach me. ‘Cling’ When our swords met, the black claymore snapped in half. Since it was a weapon made of shadow magic it immediately started to fade away. Taking the opportunity to attack, I did. ‘Clang’ ‘Clang’ ‘Clang’ ‘Clang’ ‘Clang’ ‘Clang’ ‘Clang’ ‘Clang’ ‘Clang’ ‘Clang’ ‘Clang’ ‘Clang’ ‘Clang’ ‘Clang’ ‘Clang’ Every time I lunged at her she used her bandana to minimize the blow and push me to the side. Unfortunately, she couldn’t fully block my attacks and kept getting cuts all over her body. After half a minute or so, she closed her eyes and swung her bandana like a sword. When she did this, her bandana hit the sword and the rapier broke in half. I jumped a few meters back in order to not lose my eyes. Putting the handle in my back pocket, I ran at her again. Looking at me with her brown eyes, she smiles. While running at her, I slide past Tomo to avoid her swing. While I do so, I grab her leg and bring Tomo down. As I got back up, I spun in a circle and threw her into the wall. Running after her, I did a fly kick into her stomach. As we both hit the floor, I get up and pull out my weapon…. Or at least what's left of it. When she managed to get up on her feet, I punched her once more in the gut. I then gave her an uppercut to the jaw in order to stand her up straight. Stabbing Tomo’s arm with what's left of the sword, I nailed her to the wall. I immediately created a blue sticky bomb and placed it on the wall next to her. I then got out of her arm’s reach. Seeing the bomb start to slowly flash red, Tomo started to panic. She desperately started trying to pull the handle out of her arm but, it is stubbornly stuck in the wall. Smiling at my work, I started jogging away. After a few seconds of jogging, I felt something wrap around my leg. Looking down I saw her bandana holding my ankle tightly. Looking back at her, I can see her smiling brightly and she pulled the bandana. I then flew at her. Tomo then finished pulling the sword out of her arm and jumped at me. In the air, she used the sword to stab my arms that were protecting my face and push me toward the bomb while pushing herself away from it. Landing next to the bomb I see that it’s about to go off. As it did, I changed into my shadowy appearance and the explosion goes right through me without doing any damage. Waiting for the smoke to clear, I can hear Tomo celebrating.

“Hell ya! I finally won! After 300,000 matches. I’ve finally won! He may have been taking it easy on me but, who cares?! I finally won!”(Tomo)

“It’s cute how you think a little bomb would be able to stop me.”(Diuscrucis)

Walking out of the smoke I change back into my human appearance and see a look of shock on Tomo’s face.

‘Shock’ “Why?! How?!”(Tomo)

“I’m just amazing that way. Now, better luck next time.” ‘Snap’(Diuscrucis)

Saying that, I snap my fingers and several spears impale Tomo. She died instantly. After the spears disappeared, she regenerated and looked as good as new.

“I’m glad the training rooms repair weapons and armor after every fight. If it didn’t, I would have needed to buy several thousand sets of armor.”(Tomo)

“Good job Tomo. You actually managed do damage to me. This is the first time you managed to hit me. You also went the entire fight without screaming once. That’s a new record. I am fairly certain that you now have the skills needed to take on a few level 80’s with only minimum injuries. Although, that all depends on if they trained or not.”(Diuscrucis)

“What do you mean?”(Tomo)

“If a person is properly trained, they can take on enemies who are many times their level. Unfortunately, most people are not well trained and much weaker then they should be. For example, if a high level soldier is stabbed in the heart by an assassin, he will die immediately. This is if he is untrained. If the same soldier is well trained then he could kill the assassin, pull out the knife and probably get himself healed before dieing. Training is everything in this world but few are willing to put in the time to properly train.”(Diuscrucis)

“I don’t understand how training would make such a big difference.”(Tomo)

“While training, you will develop skills that can help you make what your training easier. When you master these skills they become part of your masteries and they greatly improve your ability to adapt. If you don’t train then you can’t develop those skills.”(Diuscrucis)

“Ok. Why did you plant the bomb on the wall and why did you use the bomb at all?”(Tomo)

“I wanted to give you a chance to escape and it’s been awhile since I last blew you up. So I figured, why not? Now, are you ready to go?”(Diuscrucis)

“I’m ready.”(Tomo)

“Then let’s go.”(Diuscrucis)

Leaving the training room, we went up stairs and toward the bounty board.

“Alright Tomo. Bounties are very easy to deal with. The top of the paper tells you the name. The center shows you what they look like and how much they are worth. Right under the picture shows you if they are wanted dead or alive and the bottom of the paper tells you where they are most likely located. Now help me pick up every single one that’s for west zone.”(Diuscrucis)

“A lot of these have a rank next to the name. Won’t that mean we can’t hunt them unless we are that rank or higher?”(Tomo)

“Ranks are suggestions and as long as you complete the bounty within a year you're fine. Any longer after that and you can no longer participate in that person’s capture.”(Diuscrucis)

“Why do you know that? I thought you weren't an adventurer until we joined it.”(Tomo)

“I wanted to join them for several years now but, never got around to doing it. So I just read up on some of the rules they have.”(Diuscrucis)

“I see.”(Tomo)

After several minutes of searching, we had a stack of nearly three hundred bounties. Heading towards the reception counters, we stepped in front of Ghost.

“Ghost, we want to accept these bounties.”(Diuscrucis)

“It’s not a problem but, do you think you can handle all of these?”(Ghost)

“Don’t worry. They will all be done within the year.”(Diuscrucis)

“Then we have no problem. Come back with proof of imprisonment and we will pay you for your services.”(Ghost)

“What’s the proof of imprisonment?”(Tomo)

“A special symbol that is added to your guild card. When you click it, it says who you captured and brought to jail.”(Ghost)

“Let’s go Tomo. Ghost. Next time we meet, let’s grab a few drinks.”(Diuscrucis)

“Sounds like fun.”(Ghost)

Leaving the building, Tomo and I start walking towards the city gate. Reaching the gate, I look around for a bus stop. Finding it, I take a seat next to the sign and we started waiting alongside some other groups of people.

“So, are we going to walk to the west zone or do we have another form of transportation?”(Tomo)

“A bus should pass in a few minutes. We’ll take that to the guild in west zone and start my job.”(Diuscrucis)

“Would that red double decker bus be what we're waiting for?”(Tomo)

Looking around for a few seconds, I spotted the bus in the distance. It has a big C-W right under the the front windshield.

“It looks like it.”(Diuscrucis)

After about a minute, the bus stops in front of us. After a crowd of people got off the bus, we boarded it alongside a few dozen other people. Sitting at the back of the bus, we waited for the skeleton driver to start driving. After a few minutes of waiting, we started the long journey toward west zone.

“How long will this take?”(Tomo)

“A few hours. Probably. I suggest you take a nap. This is going to take a while.”(Diuscrucis)

“I’m not ‘yawn’ that tired.”(Tomo)

“Just take a nap. You’ve barely slept during training and you even look tired.”(Diuscrucis)

“Hmmm…”(Tomo)

Making that sound of acknowledgment, Tomo closes her eyes. After a few minutes, her head lands on my arm and she continues sleeping while leaning on me. Five hours later, we reached the west zone. An hour later, we finally arrived at a city. After waking up Tomo, we get off the bus.

“So this is a west zone city. I am surprised to see how different it is compared to central zone.”(Tomo)

“Well this zone is suppose to be the gathering place of every despicable thing in the Underworld. It makes sense that this place looks like a mix between a party city and an oversized corporation.”(Diuscrucis)

{The sounds of turf wars, gun shots, cries for help, and clanging metal in the distance. The smells of lust, blood, fire, and drugs in the air. This place feels like home.}(Diuscrucis)

{To bad we need to fix up all of west zone.}(Lulu)

{Ya. To bad.}(Diuscrucis)

{This city is suppose to be three times as big as the city we came from. It also has quite a few casinos, brothels, strip clubs, slave training centers, and established crime dens. all of which are surrounded by hundreds of tall business offices. There also seems to be an Adventurer’s Guild five blocks north of here. It is the only one in the city.}(Lulu)

{Thanks.}(Diuscrucis)

“The guild is up ahead. Let’s go Tomo.”(Diuscrucis)

“Why are we heading to the guild? Please tell me we don’t need to re-register.”(Tomo)

“We don’t. I just want to grab a bite to eat and pick up the bounties for this area.”(Diuscrucis)

“Then let’s go.”(Tomo)

On the way to the guild, I picked pocketed everyone I passed and crushed the hands of anyone who tried it on me. Upon reaching the guild, I took some time to admire it before walking through the front door. This building is several stories high with the guild initials engraved onto the doors. Beyond that, it looks like an average white collar workplace.

{I’m a little disappointed.}(Diuscrucis)

{You would expect something more grand.}(Lulu)

After walking into the main lobby, I couldn’t help but say one thing.

“This place is a lot bigger on the inside.”(Diuscrucis)

The main lobby looked like an average guild hall except, on a much larger scale. Where normally it can hold a hundred or so people and maybe five receptionists. This place could easily hold several thousand and a few hundred receptionists. From outside the building, this place looks like it can only hold a few hundred people per floor. Tomo even closed the door and reopened it just to make sure she was seeing things correctly.

“This is so cool!”(Tomo)

“Go to the bounty board and pick up all the bounties for the west zone.”(Diuscrucis)

“Sure thing sensei.”(Tomo)

{Lulu. Keep an eye on her. There are a good thousand or so people here and I am sure that some of them are rapists.}(Diuscrucis)

{No problem Dad.}(Lulu)

With that done. I sit down at a table and motion for one of the waiting waiters in the area. A man in a tuxedo walks over to me but before he reaches me, Lulu speaks up.

{Dad, I have bad news.}(Lulu)

{What is it?}(Diuscrucis)

{ A group of dudes knocked out Tomo with a handkerchief and are running off with her. Also, everyone in the room is staring at you. Most of them have a hand on their weapons and are ready to attack.}(Lulu)

{Gods damn it! How bad is my luck today? Thank you for letting me know.}(Diuscrucis)

“If you lot are going to attack me then make it quick. I have a student to save and I rather not keep her waiting.”(Diuscrucis)

After saying that, everyone froze. They even stopped pretending to talk to each other. Then they all charged at me when a blue haired elf yelled.

‘Yelling’ “Get him!”(Blue haired elf)

{Lulu. What level is my karma at?}(Diuscrucis)

{Moderately high. Bad.}(Lulu)

I wonder why it’s so low. ‘Snap’ thinking that, I snapped my fingers and hundreds of spears flew out of the ground and impaled most of the people in the room. Everyone but the receptionists and I were killed in a matter of seconds. Willing all the spears to vanish, I walked over to the bounty board to have a look at what's there. After searching for a minute or so, I found what I was looking for. Taking it from the board I walk over to a receptionist. Looking at the white ghost woman who looked like she was about to piss herself, I started talking in a slow, calm voice.

‘Smiling’ “How long has this been here?”(Diuscrucis)

“Ahh….. Ahh…… A few years sir.”(Receptionist)

“Interesting. Now, Can you tell me who would put a bounty of 750 billion credits on me? I don’t remember pissing anyone off a few years ago in a way that would make them come at me like this. And this makes it look like I killed the guy’s children after fucking his wife and pissed all over his best friends grave.”(Diuscrucis)

“It was the King of Crows sir…”(Receptionist)

‘Big smile’ “Good. now can you tell me were those assholes took my friend.”(Diuscrucis)

‘Sniffle’ “Most like to the “Scarlet Mansion” a few miles north of here…”(Receptionist)

“Thanks for the help.”(Diuscrucis)

Saying that, I start walking toward the door. Before I reach it though, Death walks thru it. After he looked around for a few seconds I could practically see the greed in his eyes.

“Why are you here Death?”(Diuscrucis)

“Karma wanted me to bring you something. Here, catch.”(Death)

Saying that, Death tossed me a small white rectangle.

“What’s this?”(Diuscrucis)

“Demons call this device a “flip phone”. The newest advancement in long range communication. It’s suppose to be an improvement to the old communication crystals and they are a lot more portable than those oversized rocks.”(Death)

“Flip phone? Oh my god! This thing has a little glowing screen!”(Diuscrucis)

“Want me to explain how it works?”(Death)

“Maybe later. For now I need to go rescue a hero. Before I go. Death, can you send all these guys to jail for me. If you do, I will give you half the reward for any of them who has a bounty on their head.”(Diuscrucis)

‘Wicked smile’ “Consider it done.”(Death)

“Thanks.”(Diuscrucis)

After saying my goodbyes, I bolted out the door and started running north.

{Lulu. How far is the “Scarlet Mansion” from here?}(Diuscrucis)

{It’s supposed to be a large castle like mansion that is completely red in color. At least that is what the map shows. It should be up ahead.}(Lulu)

When Lulu finished talking, a huge red castle was in view. Jumping over the large stone walls, I landed in a patch of short grass. The castle had some sort of alarm system and it immediately went off the moment I touched the ground. Standing up straight, I shapeshifted into a more intimidating and battle ready attire. I grew to seven and a half feet tall with glowing golden eyes and sharp teeth. My tail grew out and made a hole in my pants. My left hand turned black as it became covered in scales. It also became thicker and much more dragon like. Most of my skin then became covered in velvet scales. Creating a clawed gauntlet, I equipped it onto my right hand and started running towards the castle. Blowing down the front door, I started killing every person that I saw. Ripping people’s arms off and beating them to death with them, cutting them in half, crushing their skulls and chests in, and even some full on disembowelment. I thoroughly searched through every floor looking for Tomo. After checking the last five floors and the basement, I am finally on the last floor. Passing by a guy who had his dick torn off for some reason, I was looking at the last door on this floor. Standing in front of it is a white haired vampire. He is wearing a black clock, had red eyes, and seemed as old as hell.

“Alright wrinkly old timer. I am fairly certain that a friend of mine is in that room so, let her go and we don’t need to fight.”(Diuscrucis)

“You think you can stop me? I’ve lived in the Underworld for over a hundred thousand years and am a level 567. You honestly think that……..”(Monologuing vampire)

{What is my karma level at Lulu?}(Diuscrucis)

{Low. Good.}(Lulu)

{My god. I’ve been killing a lot more assholes than I thought I was. Let’s try out that new spell.}(Diuscrucis)

Pointing at the vampire, I started casting my spell.

“[Plot Hole Armor]”(Diuscrucis)

All karma has been used. Target has suffered from loss of life.

Your level has increased from 370 to 375.

“Uuugaa!!!!!”(Vampire)

The vampire stopped talking and grasped his chest. He then fell to the ground and went limp.

‘Stare’ {.....Did he just have a heart attack?}(Lulu)

‘Stare’ {........I think so……...}(Diuscrucis)

Walking passed him, I changed my eye color back to velvet and unequipped my gauntlet. Changing my teeth to a much friendlier jaw shape, I opened the door. Inside this master bedroom with a king sized bed was Tomo. She had chains around her legs and was missing her shirt. While she looked at me with a look of shock and some blood running out of her mouth, I stared at her chest.

“Oh my god! You have boobs!”(Diuscrucis)

Covering her chest with her arms, she yells at me.

‘Blush’ “Of course I have boobs! Did you think I was a boy?!”(Tomo)

‘completely serious face’ “No. Just that you had a flat chest.”(Diuscrucis)

“I have a B-cup damn it! I usually have them tightly wrapped in order to make my chest as flat as possible!”(Tomo)

“First off, at best those are A’s. Secondly, why?”(Diuscrucis)

‘Growl’ “I want the person I end up with to like me because of who I am. Not because of how I look.”(Tomo)

“I see.”(Diuscrucis)

Taking off my hat and shirt, Tomo starts to panic

‘High pitched scream’ “What are you planning to do?!”(Tomo)

“I’m planning to give you my shirt and to cut those chains.”(Diuscrucis)

Tossing her my bloody tank top, I throw my fedora at the chains around her legs. The chains snapped instantly and my hat flew back into my hand.

“And that is why my fedora is made of metal. Now come on. I still haven't eaten anything all day and I refuse to eat these assholes.”(Diuscrucis)

“Coming sensei!”(Tomo)

Turning around to give Tomo some privacy, I started walking away. She quickly caught up and stayed in step with me after putting on the bloody shirt. As we went down floors, the scenery got bloodier and bloodier. At first she was fine but, she quickly threw up. After we finally made it to the first floor, She looked at me with confusion in her eyes.

“Why are you staring at me like that?”(Diuscrucis)

“Did you do all of this by yourself?”(Tomo)

“Yup.”(Diuscrucis)

“What is your profession?(Tomo)

“My profession is Horseman of Death.”(Diuscrucis)

When I told her this, she looked at me in shock.

“A horsman can do all this? Can you teach me how to become one?”(Tomo)

“No.”(Diuscrucis)

‘Look of disappointment’ “Why not?”(Tomo)

“Because of the kind of training they go through. The combat training you're going through right now is child's play compared to what they go through. If I put you through that kind of training…… I won't be able to guarantee your mental health. You could very easily break psychologically. Not to mention spiritually.”(Diuscrucis)

‘Look of determination’ “I’m fine with that. I will do whatever it takes to become a horseman.”(Tomo)

‘Putting a hand on her head’ “Are you ok? You’re not broken are you? I came here as fast as I could but, I still don’t know how they got you here so fast.”(Diuscrucis)

‘Swatting my hand away’ “I’m fine sensei. Don’t worry about me so much. If you are so worried for my mental health then fine. If I start to feel my sanity slipping from the training then, I will let you know. That way we can go back to normal training and you don't have to worry.”(Tomo)

‘Sigh’ “So be it…. Let’s go. I also have a question for you.”(Diuscrucis)

“What is it?”(Tomo)

“Do you know how to use a flip phone?”(Diuscrucis)
