Book 2 Chapter 10: Doctor of the Horsemen

* Diuscrucis’s -POV -

‘Whisper’ “Duci?”(Solomon)

“That answers so much. Wait. ‘Looks over to Samantha’ How come when I talk about sex your all like “Don’t you dare!” but when Solomon talks about it you act like you don’t give a damn?! That is some biased as bullshit!!!!”(Diuscrucis)

‘Shrugs’ “I never cared for the guy. What can I say? You have been the only man for me so when I hear you talk about fond sex moments with them I kinda get pissed.”(Samantha)

“Besides. My husband and I have far better sex stories than you anyway.”(Falisha)

“Oh ya!? Well this one time I…… You know what? Nevermind. Let’s just continue the story.”(Diuscrucis)

As much as I would love to gloat about my own sex life, I stopped the moment I felt Samantha’s hand rest on my shoulder. For some reason I felt myself shaking under her glare.

“So after I switched clothes and got my fedora, I changed genders and pull out my phone to call up my boss.”(Diuscrucis)

* Walking the streets of central zone -

“Yo Karma.I have a question for you.”(Diuscrucis)

“What do you need?”(Karma)

“What do you know about the most recent hero summoning?”(Diuscrucis)

“I know a woman named Falisha tried to summon a man from another world and failed. And since Monday has been unsatisfied with the time it takes for you to summon the heroes, he decided to give her a hand and keep him in her care.”(Karma)

“And you didn’t give me some kind of heads up about this because?”(Diuscrucis)

“I’ve been busy. ‘Snap’ ‘Unintelligible screaming’ Very busy.”(Karma)

“Ook…. So where can I find this Falisha woman?”(Diuscrucis)

“She lives in the house of the oldest acting horseman. I’ll send you the address in a minute. When you get there please play nice. I would like to have the relationship between horsemen to remain as friendly as possible. The underworld might not be able to handle a war between members.”(Karma)

“I will try.”(Diuscrucis)

Hanging up the phone I wait for the text with the address and start walking towards my destination. As I casually walk down this unusually long empty street, I am joined by a strange individual. He is six feet three inches tall and is wearing a black cloak with a white mask. The mask has an extended front in the shape of a beak and from what I could see of his eyes, they are dark gray.

“So what brings a strange man like you to a place like this?”(Diuscrucis)

‘Calmly said with a weird accent’ “I am simply heading home my good sir. What about you?”(Bird faced man)

“I’m heading over to collect a hero from what appears to be a love crazed wife.”(Diuscrucis)

“Hm. It’s been a long time since I have heard about the profession of hero. What might a horseman of Death want with one?”(Bird faced man)

‘Light laugh’ “That is mighty perceptive of you. What gave it away?”(Diuscrucis)

“Well I guess some introductions are in order. The name is Diuscrucis De Reaper. The Horseman of Death at your service.”(Diuscrucis) ‘Tips hat towards the horseman’

“... Doctor. Most just call me the Plague Doctor. The oldest of the Horsemen.”(Doctor)

“Interesting name Doctor. Still. Why do you sound so disappointed about the prospect of a new war?”(Diuscrucis)

“I still have much to do my friend and I fear that I am no longer capable of performing my job.”(Doctor)

“I would love to hear the details if you would let me Doctor.”(Diuscrucis)

‘Light laughter’ “I have this growing obsession with these new dead creatures called zombies. I recently found a cure for them but even though I can get rid of them all in this world, I fear many other worlds are suffering from this same problem with no one to cure them from this unnatural disease. I would love to go and carry on with my work but I have a child to look after and a job I can not leave unattended. With these things I find it difficult to head into a new war.”(Doctor)

“Then lets deal with these problems one at a time. Tell me about your daughter and I will see if I can help you with that problem first.”(Diuscrucis)

“Very well. My daughter Falisha is a highly emotional girl who tends to go through violent mood swings when she believes those she cares about are abandoning her. She has low self esteem but a strong drive to prove herself to be better than me when it comes to medicine.”(Doctor)

“Falisha? Your daughter wouldn't happen to have peach skinned with long black wavy hair that goes down to her waist, green eyes, and c cup breasts right?”(Diuscrucis)

“That’s her. Have you met my darling daughter before?”(Doctor)

‘Nervous laugh’ “She tried to kill me earlier today.”(Diuscrucis)

“Did you break up with her or something?”(Doctor)

“You want to move on with life so you are trying to push all responsibility for your daughter on to someone else.”(Diuscrucis)

“That is correct.”(Doctor)

“Then from that I can assume you want to choose the next horseman to replace you before you can leave as well.”(Diuscrucis)

“That is also correct my friend.”(Doctor)

“This may sound dumb but…. Why not make your daughter a horseman?”(Diuscrucis)

“I tried. She is incapable of becoming one.”(Doctor)

“She can’t become a horseman but…..”(Diuscrucis)

“Is it possible to transfer over a profession from one person to another?”(Diuscrucis)

“... It is. The person who gains the profession will need to start from square one but it is still doable. Why do you ask?”(Doctor)

“Your daughter might have the makings of a hero if she gets her act together so I was wondering if you can test her husband. If he is worthy of being a Horseman then you can transfer your profession to him, his hero profession will go to her and you will be free to go.”(Diuscrucis)

“It is an interesting idea but only if he is a worthy candidate for being a Horseman. If he is not then I must keep looking elsewhere.”(Doctor)

“I only ask that you give him a chance.”(Diuscrucis)

{He is so going to be a Horseman.}(Diuscrucis)

With all that said we continue walking silently to his house. When we arrive I look at the building he calls home. It is a three story, windowless, white building with only the front door being visible from the front yard and a triangle roof. When we went inside after crossing a sea of green fire by walking on stone platforms, I looked around the white room to see that I am in a kitchen. To my left is a table with two chairs and Doctor is making himself something to drink.

“ So where might your daughter be Doctor?”(Diuscrucis)

“Her room is through that door and down the hall. Her room is always open so you should see her if you look around a bit.”(Doctor)

“One more thing before I go. How is it possible that you have green fire in your front yard but it releases no heat?”(Diuscrucis)

“The flames are the fires of plague. They release no heat but causes you to get cancer upon touching it.”(Doctor)

Huh. That is some dangerous crap….. Looking at the door farthest from the front door I walk through it and enter a long white corridor.

{This place looks like a hospital ward.}(Diuscrucis)

{At least we know it’s his house without a doubt.}(Lulu)

Walking down the hall I feel myself physically change. My hair shortened and took it’s traditional black and white pattern. My left arm became black while I grew a few inches and my skin changed from pink to a more tan color. Stopping momentarily to look at myself I smile bitterly before I continue walking.

{This is an interesting development.}(Diuscrucis)

{It seems this hallway was meant to eliminate disguises. I’ll let you know if I figure out a way around it Dad.}(Lulu)

After a while I slowly start to hear moaning.

{She works fast.}(Lulu)

{I should probably hurry up then. If this guy is going to be my new coworker then I will need to make sure he isn’t broken.}(Diuscrucis)

Picking up speed I follow the moans until I arrive right outside a door. Before I could open it I heard a grunt of pain so I figured she just popped so…

{On the count of three.}(Diuscrucis)

{1. 2. 3. KICK IT DOWN!!!}(Lulu and Diuscrucis)

Kicking the door open I am immediately greeted by the new love birds fucking each other on a metal table. Both of them are naked and Falisha is riding him. Looking at Solomon I could see fear in his eyes. He looked so scared but all I felt towards him was an unusual feeling of begrudging joy and it annoys me. I don’t know why but I can feel it. This guy is going to cause me so much trouble and I am going to enjoy doing the same to him.

“The one with two souls… I did not expect to see you again. So this must be the other soul who shares your body…. I don’t know why you’re here but I am in the middle of something so…”(Falisha)

Hearing Falisha speak I look up and stare her down. With each word after the word souls I could see her get more and more tense. Before she could finish talking I interrupt her because as much as I would love to test out the theory of scaring a person to death just by looking at them... I have better things to do.

“I’m sorry to interrupt the love making but I need your husband. Don’t worry it is for a completely non sexual activity. Now get off him before I have to yank you off.”(Diuscrucis)

It was at that moment I saw it. Her eyes dulled and became a darker shade of green. Even though she recognizes me, she is still hostile. Slowly she got off of Solomon and backed away from him. I should probably say something to get her to calm down or at least to not have her kill Solomon….

“Thank you for your cooperation Falisha.”(Diuscrucis)

“How?”(Falisha)

‘Light laughter’ “Your husband speaks quite highly of you friend. You should feel proud to have a husband like him.”(Diuscrucis)

Glancing at Solomon I start to consider how I’m going to have him pay me back later for saving his ass here when…

‘Lovely sounding female voice’ {About eight inches… I wonder if that is comfortable.}(???)

There’s that damned voice again! Who the fuck is talking in my head!?!

‘Whisper’ “Duci?”(Solomon)

‘Slight smile’ “I know you two have a lot of sex to catch up on but I need your husband in the kitchen so release him and then the both of you need to get dressed. I’ll wait outside the room.”(Diuscrucis)

Walking out the room I close the door and notice that my hand is bleeding.

“I didn’t even notice I was squeezing my hand so hard. Hurry up you two! The Doctor is waiting for you!”(Diuscrucis)

After a few seconds the door opens and Falisha runs down the hall. Solomon slowly stumbles out in a full red suit and shoes.

“Looking good. Now hurry up and meet her father. I have things to do like question a god about his patience.”(Diuscrucis)

“Thanks for saving me back there Du…”(Man who almost got his spine ripped out through his mouth)

‘Resting my hand over his mouth to shut the fool up’ “Diuscrucis. My name is Diuscrucis. No matter my gender that is my name.”(Diuscrucis)

Giving me a nod, I smile and seperate my hand from his mouth.

“Now get going. We don’t have all day.”(Diuscrucis)

With nothing to do for the foreseeable future, I start wandering this house. Room by room. For twenty minutes.

{You would expect more than just five rooms full of stuff for a house with like a hundred doors.}(Lulu)

{Eight rooms because three rooms are bathrooms.}(Diuscrucis)

“What are you doing?”(Falisha)

“Looking around to pass the time.”(Diuscrucis)

Turning around I see Falisha softly panting while looking at me curiously with her bright crystal green eyes.

“...You are easily bored aren't you?”(Falisha)

“Why do you sound so amused saying that?”(Diuscrucis)

“You are going to be my husband’s new coworker so I figured I should get to know you better.”(Falisha)

“Ha ha! Then when you know me better you can stab me in the back because you got me to lower my guard.”(Diuscrucis)

“Only if I find you flirting with him.”(Falisha)

‘Ha. ‘cough’ Ok. then let's see how well we can get along…… I heard on the news this morning that two pedestrians died in a collision the other day. My only question is…. How fast were they walking!?”(Diuscrucis)

Hearing this caused Falisha to go into a fit of laughter before she said her own.

“What did the green grape tell the purple grape?”(Falisha)

“What?”(Diuscrucis)

“Breath Gods damn it!”(Falisha)

‘Light laughter’ “Ok. We are going to be great friends. The name is Diuscrucis De Reaper.”(Diuscrucis)

“Falisha Hyodo. Happy to have a new friend.”(Falisha)

Shaking hands, we give each other a wide grin and head down stairs when we here Doctor calling for us. When we got downstairs I see the Doctor at the door and he is getting ready to leave. Solomon is collapsed on the floor and seems to be waking up.

“With this I am done. I shall now go to other worlds and cure this disease wherever I may find it. Solomon. Take care of my daughter or I will find you and use you as my lab rat. Diuscrucis. Make sure these two live a happy and active life.”(Doctor)

“Don’t worry Doctor. I’ll make sure these two leave the house at least once every other day to do something productive.”(Diuscrucis)

“Bye dad! Make sure the disease doesn’t turn into a pestilence while your helping other worlds!”(Falisha)

“I will.”(Doctor)

With that he smiles and walks out the door with a black suitcase.

“Well then. Now that all this has been taken care of I should get going but first. Solomon.”(Diuscrucis)

“What?”(Solomon)

“What kind of Horsman are you?”(Diuscrucis)

Pulling himself off the floor, Solomon takes a seat before answering me.

“.... Legion. I’m the Horseman of Legion.”(Solomon)
