We went straight back to the hangar bay with Bimic since we weren't sure if more of those assassins would be sent after us. If we're lucky, we would be out of the station before those guys even know we already left.
As much as I would like Amber to take it easy right now, she still needed to fly her own ship out first before she could dock with mine.
Lea and Bimic went ahead to board my ship and we stuffed as much of his things as we could into my ship's storage room but we ended up needing to leave some of the things outside in the corridor as there wasn't enough space.
Bimic was looking around my ship in wonder, "So you're really well off I see. I guess that makes sense if you were able to hire a Gold ranked Merc as your bodyguard."
Lea gave me a look, wondering if I was going to tell him that I was actually a Mercenary myself but I decided that there was no need for me to do so and just let him arrive at his own conclusions.
He was about to approach the rooms when I stopped him, "Nope, you're coming with me first. Lea? Take anything you need to my room first. Take your time."
I wasn't sure if Lea had any private stuff in her room that she did not want Bimic to see so this was her chance to move them over.
At first, I had told Bimic that the best I could do was give him a space in our ship's corridor for him to sleep but Lea had offered the room she was staying in instead.
I thought she was going to share the room with him but she intended to move into the room with Amber and myself while he was there.
I felt this was unfair to her but Lea said that she did not mind and Amber also expressed her agreement on the matter.
Since they already said that they were fine with that arrangement and I did not mind it either, we just decided that we would just go with that plan.
I thought Lea would much prefer to sleep with the plants that she was growing but she surprisingly gave her room up rather easily.
I was assuming that she might take a few plants over so that she could feel at ease there, which was also part of the reason I'm dragging Bimic to the cockpit with me and letting Lea do her stuff.
I quickly completed the take off sequence and flew out of the station with Bimic strapped to the seat behind me, boosting us out into space once again.
We didn't need to get far before a familiar ship pulled up beside mine and requested for docking permissions which I quickly granted, prompting Amber's ship to lock its docking hatch with mine.
"You guys do this often, eh?" Bimic commented.
I didn't bother denying it and just nodded at him.
"Damn… You really must be rich huh…"
Why does he keep harping on that?
I mean… Sure, right now we're not poor, but I won't be able to just throw out a million Credits either.
So in that sense, I wouldn't call myself rich actually… But I suppose when we're compared to the common fold in Denibi stations, we could definitely be considered rich.

There was just one thing though…
"Didn't you say you came from the inner colonies? Aren't the standards of living there much higher?" I asked while turning to face him.
He looked away and scratched his cheek, "Eh? Ah! That's right! But you know… It's been a while since I've been there so… Ahahaha!"
I don't get this guy at all. Maybe he's been out in Denibi for too long that it messed with his head or something?
Oh, I know! He ate too much shitty synthfood so he's jealous of us, right? I guess I don't mind making something simple for all of us later.
I'm obviously not going to make anything using the organic stuff or else it would be problematic if this guy grows too attached to my food and refuses to leave us.
Then again, he did say that the synthfood in the inner colonies tasted better so this might be a good time to test out the difference between mine and those synthfood.
Who knows? Maybe he might even give me some pointers on how to improve my cooking?
Setting that aside for now, I set my ship's destination to Theeve system and engaged the autopilot, letting the ship's computer take over the controls.
Right then, the doors to my cockpit slid open and Amber strolled in, though I noticed she had been clutching her side right before the door opened.
I scowled at her, "Go and rest, Amber. You're still hurt."
She pouted, "So are you. Or did you forget you were hit in the arm?"
I nodded at my upper arm that still had the hardened foam, "This? It's just a flesh wound. It barely even affects me while yours is making you uncomfortable."
"Huh? No it's not?"
"Don't even try to lie to me, Amber. I've seen how you clutch at your side the whole entire time, don't even try to deny it."
"Ngghh… I'm sure it'll get better if you rest with me though! So let's go~"
I could continue arguing with her but I decided that I could take a break myself as well. I might not show it but the fight with that blade guy did take a toll on me mentally.
I waved at her, "I'll be there in a bit. Just need to get this guy settled into his room after Lea moves her stuff out."
"Oh, her? I think she's already done. I went to check the rooms before I came in here and she's already settled herself in your room."
That was fast.
"Alright, alright. Then you can go to sleep first, I'll go off in a bit."
"What?! No way!! We haven't even had dinner yet!!"
I raised an eyebrow at her, "Are you hungry?"
"I'm never not hungry for your food!"
I can see that…
I turned to Bimic, "Right… Do you want to eat with us then?"
He perked up, "Oh! What will you be having?"
"Just some stuff I'll be making with synthfood."
"Ah… Then no thanks. I have my own."
"But it'll be synthfood that isn't processed by a food processor though?"
"Nah… I'm good. I don't think I can stand the taste of anything outside of the inner colonies already. Don't need to worry about me. I still have enough food packed to last me the entire journey and then some."
I wanted to explain to him that he had the wrong idea but Amber cut in right then, "Oh well! I guess that just means more for us! No need to feel bad about it! We can finish your share too!"
…
Right, I guess there's no need to actually let him know about the food that I make if the person himself was unwilling to partake in it in the first place.
I could just look for someone else from the inner colonies to taste my cooking after I practise cooking a bit more.
Now that I know there are better food processors out there, I'm feeling a bit hyped up that I might be able to eat actual food for once and not just the crap I've been tasting before this.
If I find a way to also make what I cook with synthfood look aesthetically pleasing as well, that would be a complete win for me.
Too bad it's hard to do that when the ingredients you have to work with are such piles of slop.
I went ahead to confirm our heading and lock it in before getting out of my chair.
Bimic also took that as his cue to get out of his and the three of us left the cockpit.
Amber went to our shared room while I guided Bimic to his temporary room.
"Remember, this room is lent to you and does not belong to you. The original owner of this room is literally giving it up temporarily for you so respect that, ok?"
He frowned, "Owner? Forgive me if I'm wrong but… Wasn't that Alv a slave?"
I nodded, "What of it?"
"Slaves aren't allowed to own anything, aren't they? I thought she was just occupying a cage in some corner of the room?"
"Ah… I guess I wouldn't be surprised if some ship captains treat their slaves like that but I'm not that kind of captain," I explained.
He shrugged, "Well alright, as long as the slave isn't sleeping on the bed I'm sleeping I guess."
I believe Lea should have already pulled her bed's mattress to our room so there should only be one bed available there now anyway.
I simply assured him that it was the case and wished him a good night.
Now… I have two girls I need to cook for.
