I was given a list of food I could buy through a message on my Codex.
I only wanted to try out that teppan grill so I just ordered some ingredients that I was familiar with instead of anything too exotic or complicated to prepare.
Still… They have quite a variety of stuff to choose from with some that were clearly not human ingredients mixed in there as well.
By that, I meant ingredients that I've never heard of with very weird sounding names like Ramps, Cardoons and Gurnard. Like what kind of names are these? Are these even the names of human food?
Anyway… I placed the order and expected the food to be delivered tonight or something.
In the meantime, I was practically dragged by the girls to the pool who were interested in seeing me swim for some reason.
Ok, that's not actually true, they just kept asking about it so I just told them to follow me to the pool. As for the matter of purchasing our new ship, we decided to discuss it over dinner since it would involve everyone anyway.
"Are you really sure this is safe?" Amber asked, looking quite concerned at the water.
I squatted down and poked at the water surface, "I guess so? I mean… They wouldn't put this here if it's dangerous right?"
"Actually, Mistress… I did a search earlier and I found some reports that pools like these were sometimes used to dispose of people," Lea commented.
What? Why? I mean… Don't the bodies just float onto the surface eventually? It won't help you hide the body itself, right?"
My thoughts must have shown on my face because Lea added, "More accurately, it's used to kill people, not to hide the bodies, Mistress."
Ok, so I now know that swimming is probably a skill that was no longer common, which meant they could just toss someone in the pool and let them drown in it.
I looked back at the pool of water, wondering if it was used to kill someone before… Because if it has, there's no way I'm gonna swim in that.
Amber spoke up right then, "If I'm not wrong, I think the guide mentioned that these apartments would only be given to Battle Royale winners who have also won a bet with the station owner and gotten his approval. So no one actually stays in them until they are granted that right."
Which meant that we would most probably be this apartment's first tenants. That's good to know.
Not gonna lie, this place makes me feel like it's worth falling into that money trap scheme just to be able to enjoy the amenities…
Ries's ears twitched, "Eh? Didn't they say that all Battle Royale winners get to stay here for free anyway?"
Amber nodded, "Stay in the station, yes. But not getting an apartment like this."
The cat girl nodded her head in understanding.
Alright, whatever, might as well just try it out.
I went ahead to strip myself out of my clothes since we don't have any swimsuits but I guess it's fine since we've already pretty much seen each other naked anyway.
"Waahh! What are you doing, Tera?!" Amber gasped, though she was looking at me with her usual lewd gaze whenever she sees me naked.

"You can't swim wearing normal clothes, Amber. Like how your clothes would get wet which could weigh you down. You would need specialised clothes that are waterproof to prevent something like that from happening."
"There's clothes specialised for swimming?" Ries gasped.
I gave them a pointed look, "Wait… Have none of you been on a planet?"
All three of them shook their heads.
Right… I guess that explains a lot.
I went to the water's edge and eased myself into it.
Oh… Wow.
I was expecting the water to be cold but it was actually warm. Damn… To keep an entire pool of water warm like this…
Oh wait, I forgot, this is the future. They might be using some better way of keeping such a large body of water warm without racking up gas bills or something.
In fact… Are we even still using gas burners at all? Or have they already phased out of existence at this point?
The pool itself was also surprisingly deep and it looked to be at least two metres in depth. Although it does seem like it gets to a metre and a half deep at the ends so it was only that deep in the centre.
I then started doing a breaststroke to try and acclimatise myself with swimming after a long time and I quickly realised there was a problem that I didn't think I would face…
I had two really big things hanging on my chest which seemed to affect my swimming… Especially when it seemed to want to keep floating upwards when I wanted to push down into the water.
Ok, I guess I did not account for something like that… I suppose I'll have to get used to this new body for swimming in general…
It wasn't really that hard to be honest and I was already swimming rather normally within a minute or two.
I then switched to freestyle and that encountered a little bit of difficulty as I was basically trying to swing two heavy mounds side to side but nothing serious enough that I couldn't deal with.
At this point, it actually feels rather good now. The warm water was also making it feel like I was just swimming in a really large bath.
Damn… This really feels comfortable… I wonder if we can afford installing one of these on our new ship as well.
While I was enjoying my time floating in the water, I suddenly heard a splash followed by a panicked gurgle and then panicked splashes.
Turning to the side, I saw Amber in the water and flailing about before she managed to grab onto the ledge and pull herself out.
I would have thought she had fallen into the water mistakenly was it not for the fact that she was also naked and her clothes were folded neatly at the side of the pool, meaning she had entered it willingly.
The other two girls were trying to pull her out of the water but were having trouble doing so.
I quickly swam over towards her and boosted her up from the water, letting her climb out and collapse onto the ground.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"It… Huff, huff… It looked so easy… I thought I could… Ughhh… I thought I could do it too…"
"Why didn't you just call out to me before you jumped in?"
"I… I wanna swim with you too… I wanna flirt with you in the pool…"
Ugh… I can't even be mad at you if you were to say it like that.
"I'll teach you how to swim later, ok?"
She turned to look at me, "Would I be able to swim as well, Tera?"
I was genuinely curious, "Why not?"
"Because I'm not you… You look so graceful and it looked like the water was even supporting you… But for me I just started to sink straight away…"
"That's why I said it's not dangerous for me because I know how to swim but it's a different case if you don't know how to… But don't worry, I believe all of you should be able to learn how to swim. In fact… I'm thinking if I could install one of these in our new ship."
That seemed to get Ries's attention as she got down on all fours to match my height in the water.
"I wanted to talk to you about that, Boss! We can order the ship online through their site but if we want to get a custom order, we can also head directly to one of the company's shipyards to make an order for it! It'll be more expensive of course but I think it's worth it!"
"Which company is it?"
"The primary manufacturer is Dragoon Ship Industries and they have a shipyard in this very system too! We can make an appointment to meet with their sales representative and tell them what we need!"
I frowned, "But… That would mean they have to build the ship from scratch right? Wouldn't that take a long time?"
Ries sighed, "Yes… It would take longer than if we were to just buy one from their stock and refit it…"
Yeah, that's what I thought… That might take years to build so I don't think we could do that. I'm not going to spend millions of Credits to buy a ship that I could only see after several years. I might as well just--
"It would probably take like three to five days before we will get it but I thought since we have accommodations here anyway, it should be fine for us to just stay here while we wait for it to finish building it," Ries continued.
…
Wait, three to five days just to build a C Class Combat Freighter? A ship that's big enough to house two B Class ships with space to spare only needs a maximum of five days to build?
Damn, let's do it! We can wait five days!
