CHAPTER SIXTY FIVE
History and mystery tend to go hand in hand
~
The nymphs were not unlike the race of elves that Hawk knew well
She had once been stationed in the forests where they dwell
But unlike elves whose hair was silky and whose skin was fair
The nymphs had scaly scaly skin very short and spiky hair
Grey brought Hawk down through a complex maze of sea caverns
Passing by crystal formations growing like small ferns
Hawk wished she had time to stop and look at everything
But the world had little time for normal researching
“This way human, the chief of this region is in here
But be careful, rarely does such a strange guest appear”
The cavern opened up to reveal a grand entrance way
Decorated with gems she’d not seen before that day
Passing through the massive shining gate, there was a room
The air of which was nothing like the caverns eerie gloom
Crystal furniture hung from the tall ceiling of stone
Hundreds of nymphs clad in armour kneeled before a throne

The eldest of the Nymph Kings who still lead the ocean floor
Once a fighter, he wages no battles anymore
Instead, he devotes his talents to raising his kin
Helping younger generations find the strength within
The king had just concluded a speech, offering advice
Warning that the trails ahead demand a heavy price
The room cleared out while Grey hid Hawk in a pillar’s shadow
Once the room was empty, the king knew she was there though
“It’s been many ages since I met a human child
Not since long before the kingdoms’ treaty was defiled
Tell me, does the lineage of Randal linger on?
If his descendants rule you, I’ll demand that you be gone”
Achievement: Historical Significance
You have just been questioned by an ancient enemy
But the line he speaks of lives only in history
Several lines have come and gone before King Beam’s ascent
You now stand before a very ancient government
Hawk’s smile radiated innocence and great respect
She had so many questions and old stories to connect
But she thought it best to be straightforward just for now
She needed to deal with the portal issues somehow
“I serve no such king, nor has one reigned for many years
My kingdom at least, shan’t be a just cause for your fears
I am searching now for answers to a current threat
Have you come close to understanding the portals yet?”
The Elder King, whose eyes were grey, looked cautiously at Hawk
Then when he appraised her he was greeted by a shock
“All Seeing is give to those whose eyes burn with greed
The God of Wisdom blesses you, that’s very rare indeed
To think a human child has so much hunger for truth
If only these young subjects of mine were as wise in youth”
The king smiled at the General who rolled her deep blue eyes
His comment seemed out of place in a room so grand in size
“Your majesty, it pains me not to have much time to chat
But there’s a mystery at hand, and I must tend to that
Have you any knowledge of the portals in the sky?
Do you have any records that might help to explain why?”
The king looked closely at the human mage for quite a while
Then spoke to her in a hushed voice with a mischievous smile
“You’ve seen a red status screen lately, so you tell me
Have you stumbled on some hidden knowledge recently?”
