CHAPTER FIFTY
Funny how things change, but what is there a boy can do?
~
His god had finally succeeded in sealing his fate
The message had distracted him and he’d noticed too late
He couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of it
As far as jokes could go he had to respect it a bit
But as he fell, he didn’t fall atop the rocky ground
He found himself entangled in a soft and moving mound
He started to imagine all the monsters it could be
But when he opened up his eye, Leaf was all he could see
They stared in silence at each other for what felt like days
The impact and the sudden meeting left them in a daze
Twig waved to his friend, but as he stood up off the ground
Leaf remembered something and began to look around
Twig joined him in glancing here and there curiously
Unsure what his friend was looking for furiously
Before they found it though, a sound caught the boys by surprise
“Do you think we can get moving, hurry up you guys…”
Leaf turned around quickly happy to have heard from Sky
But Twig was already there, and Leaf knew not how or why
Twig had moved from one place to another much too fast

But if he asked him now, that question might have been his last
Twig looked down at Sky and felt a feeling worse than fear
“No, this isn’t right, how come the both of you are here…”
He couldn’t look away from his friends fragile, mangled frame
And knew at once that for her wounds, his alone was the blame
Achievement: This Cannot Be!
How come Sky is lying there and all covered in blood?!
She should be at home, not out here dying in the mud!
Do something about this you infuriating child
Throw away your hesitation, go ahead, go wild!
She looked too weak to move, she barely looked alive at all
But as Twig started panicking, he heard the young girl call
“Twig, it’s good to see you, but we really need to move
We’ll talk later if our day should happen to improve”
Achievement: Listen!
Do as your friend says, you need to get them out of here
You have seconds before fifty more monsters appear
Maybe you could act as a diversion or decoy
Give them an escape route, you annoying little boy!
“Twig, get up, I’ll carry her, so try to follow me
We need to run toward the mountains, can you move quickly?”
Twig backed away and looked around as Leaf picked up young Sky
And noticed all the monsters they were now surrounded by
Achievement: Move!
Why are you just standing there in shock you stupid brat?!
Your friends are both about to die, are you okay with that?
Wait, it’s too late for you to run, here the monsters come
Your friends don’t have much time, so just try to buy them some
By the time Leaf noticed them, it was too late to run
It seemed like their final encounter had quickly begun
Leaf turned round to find there was a wall of huge monsters
Moving in on their humble party of three members
Achievement: Throw a Punch!
Okay, I’m sorry for that little trick I pulled on you
But now’s no time for overthinking, you have work to do
Your first kill was traumatizing, that much I’ll concede
But now you’ll die living the life a hero’s meant to lead!
