Chapter 5: The Goblin Castle

Chapter 5: The Goblin Castle

Inside the 3rd Tutorial’s Dungeon.

[Quest: Find and kill the Goblin King without dying.]

[Additional Instruction: To complete the quest, all five players must survive till the end or else it’s a failure. So please make sure to work together and don’t abandon your teammates.]

Upon hearing that, the players weren't too pleased and found it ridiculous.

“No way, are you serious?!”

“So if just one of us dies, it’s game over?! What the fuck?!”

“Yeah, what’s this bullshit?! It’s already difficult enough to take care of ourselves, but now we have to worry about our teammates too?!”

Many players were dissatisfied, and couldn't help letting out their frustration.

[Dungeon: The Goblin Castle]

“The Goblin Castle”, the location setting for this dungeon.

Unlike the Goblin Forest, where players have more space to escape, the Goblin Castle poses a greater challenge. Players are trapped inside the castle, resulting in limited space to run.

In one of the channels, channel number #9,223.

One of the bedrooms inside the Goblin Castle, this was where all the players arrived the moment they entered the dungeon.

“So what’s the plan guys?” David asked everyone.

“No idea, don’t ask me because I suck at leading the team and making plans.” Jack replied.

“There’s no rush. As long as we stay inside this room and don’t open the door, we should be fine for the time being.” Sasha said.

Looking out the room window, everyone could see numerous Goblin Soldiers patrolling around the castle. These weren't your ordinary Goblins from the Goblin Forest; these were well-trained Goblin Soldiers.

"Holy shit! There are so many of them! I can't believe we have to fight all of that in this Tutorial." Carl exclaimed, unable to believe his eyes upon seeing the Goblin army outside.

Meanwhile, the only one who didn’t talk in the room was Dragonire because he wasn’t sure what to say. Also, he didn’t really want to lead the team since he was not confident in his leadership skills.

Since Dragonire was so quiet in the room, he ended up catching the attention of everyone.

The four players looked at Dragonire curiously, and one of them said:

“Hey, why are you so quiet? Don’t you have anything to say?” Carl asked.

“Yeah, please talk to us. We have to work and communicate as a team if we want to make it out of here alive.” Jack said.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to be uncooperative. However, I’m listening so go ahead and discuss the plan.” Dragonire replied.

“Alright! Before we discuss anything, let's introduce ourselves first, yeah?” David said.

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

“Sure…”

“Sure.”

With this, everyone went ahead and introduced themselves to each other.

A short while later, after completing the introduction part, they began discussing who would take on the role of team leader.

After roughly ten to fifteen minutes of discussion, a conclusion was made and David was voted to be the team leader.

Now, it was time to devise a plan on how to make their way to the throne room, as that's where the Goblin King was located. They needed to figure out a strategy for overcoming any obstacles in their path.

During the discussion, Dragonire sensed his teammates looking down on him upon discovering his lack of class. In their perception, his classlessness made him seem like a burden to the team. Despite their discontent, for the sake of teamwork, they had no choice but to get along even though they weren’t too happy about it.

Little did they know that Dragonire was the strongest one in the team, especially thanks to his overpowered skill which pretty much made him unkillable.

“So Dragonire, you said your skill was Regeneration, right?” David asked.

“Yeah, what about it?”

“So if that’s the case, can you be our frontline?”

“Frontline? Ah, you mean tank?”

“Yes. However, are you sure you will be okay? Because if you’re not confident in tanking for us, then we may have to change plans.” David replied.

“That’s right. If you’re not confident in the frontline, please do let us know because if you die, it’s game over for all of us.” Carl said.

“Don’t worry, I won’t die easily.”

"You sure? This is no joke, you know. Your life isn't just yours at stake; if you die, you're jeopardizing all of us."

“I know you guys doubt me because I’m classless, but don’t forget I managed to survive the 1st and 2nd Tutorial, so that alone proved that I’m pretty capable, right?”

“Well, that’s true…”

“Alright then, we’ll trust you. I hope you can stay alive no matter what.”

“Sheesh. You guys really don’t trust me, huh?”

“We’re sorry for doubting you. It’s just to complete the quest, everyone must be alive, so I hope you understand and don’t think ill of us.”

“I understand, I’ll definitely try my best to not fail you guys.”

"Alright. So, Dragonire will be our tank, and Sasha, you will be our support, right?" David confirmed.

“Yup!” Sasha replied.

Team lineups: Dragonire (Tank), Sasha (Healer), Jack (Archer), David (Mage), and Carl (Assassin)

After a long discussion, the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the surroundings into darkness. With nightfall approaching, everyone agreed to call it a day and resume tomorrow.

Currently, everyone was simply chilling. Soon at around midnight, a gentle wave of drowsiness settled in, signaling bedtime for everyone.

"Alright guys, sleep well and get ready for tomorrow."

“Good night.”

“Yeah, good night.”

Before going to bed, David made sure to double-check whether the room door was locked. After ensuring everything was okay, he went to bed.

Just like that, everyone slept like pigs, exhausted from worrying the whole day.

Thankfully, their safety is assured as long as they refrain from making any loud noise that might alert the Goblins. Up until now, the Goblins remained blissfully ignorant of the players' presence in this bedroom.

The next day…

“Haaaaaaaaaaaaa!”

“What a good sleep.”

“Same.”

Everyone yawned out loud as they woke up.

“Everyone, let’s do some stretching and warm up first before we start anything.” David, the team leader said.

“Great idea.”

“Sounds good.”

With this, everyone began engaging in light exercises to warm themselves up.

“Alright, is everybody ready?” David asked.

“Yeah, ready.”

“Yup, I’m ready.”

“Okay! Then let’s do this.”

Standing in front of the room door, everyone gulped in fear, feeling extremely nervous. They knew that once they opened the door, there would be no turning back.
