Chapter 18: Player, Roland Bolt

As the Hobgoblins got closer to the bed area, Dragonire could literally smell their feet from underneath. Too bad, if he had night vision, he would have fought them by now instead of hiding like a coward.

‘Sheesh, I can’t believe I’m acting scared…’

Dragonire’s heart was pounding fast as he could only hope that the Hobgoblins wouldn't find him. Additionally, due to his injured right leg, he needed some time to heal first before he could move again.

Shortly after, the Hobgoblins left the bed area and proceeded to search the balcony.

After a short while, when the Hobgoblins failed to locate Dragonire, they left the room.

‘Phew…’

With this, Dragonire came out from hiding.

Who would have thought for the 6th Tutorial that darkness would be the biggest nightmare for everyone.

RAAARRRR!!!

KRAARRRR!!!

GRAARRRR!!!

In the same hotel where Dragonire was, on the ground floor, inside a public restroom, a party of four players could be seen blocking the restroom door to prevent the Hobgoblins from coming in.

“I don’t think this door can hold for long! Get ready, guys!” Thoran, the party leader, exclaimed.

Everyone responded with nods of their heads.

Thoran’s party lineups: Thoran (Tank), Sophia (Healer), Johnson (Fire Mage), Sebastian (Archer)

Meanwhile, just outside the hotel's entrance, another party of five players arrived.

Roland’s party lineups: Roland Bolt (Warrior), Lela (Ice Mage), Shoun (Fire Mage), Aria (Healer), Jonathan (Archer).

"Hey, did you guys hear something?" Jonathan asked.

"Yeah, it sounds like there are players inside the hotel." Aria replied.

"Ha! That’s great! That means more blood for me to drink!" Roland, the party leader, said.

Secretly, Roland had already killed a total of 43 players without anyone knowing except for his party members. In addition to that, he held a position among the top 100 players in the 'Tutorial Player Ranking' list.

[Tutorial Player Ranking: Roland Bolt, Rank 95.]

Not many players could challenge Roland, only players from Rank 1 to 94 could challenge him or pose a threat to him. However, that’s not to say that players above Rank 96 couldn't challenge him; they could, but it wasn't worth it, as they would most likely lose.

Shortly after, the Hobgoblins broke into the public restroom and attacked Thoran's party.

Fortunately, Thoran’s party was well-prepared, and for the first few minutes, they performed admirably, successfully eliminating many Hobgoblins.

Meanwhile, just outside the public restroom, approximately twenty-five meters away, Roland’s party was effortlessly slaughtering the Hobgoblins. Their strength was overwhelming, leaving the Hobgoblins with no chance of survival.

In just the span of five minutes, there were no more Hobgoblins left in this hotel, as Roland’s party had killed them all.

With the Hobgoblins all gone, it was finally safe for Thoran’s party to come out of the public restroom.

"I don’t know who you guys are, but thank you so much for helping us!!" Thoran expressed his gratitude to Roland’s party.

Everyone in Thoran’s party expressed their gratitude and thanked Roland’s party.

Roland smiled and remarked sarcastically, “You’re most welcome! As fellow players, it’s only natural that we should help each other out at difficult times, so don’t worry about it.”

Little did Thoran’s party know that Roland’s party was up to no good. Roland’s party hadn't saved Thoran’s group out of goodwill; it was evident that Roland was planning to use his [Blood Suck] skill on them. However, for the skill to work, Roland had to be the one to personally kill them; otherwise, it wouldn't be effective.

It was at this moment, Thoran’s party said their goodbyes. However, just as they were about to leave, Roland’s party blocked their path, preventing them from leaving.

“Woah, not so fast! Don’t go yet, I still have something I need from you guys.” Roland said.

"Huh? What is it?" Thoran asked, curiosity evident in his voice.

"Hmm, how should I say this… Well, you know nothing in this world is free, right? Since we've helped you, don’t you think you should give us something in return?"

“......” Thoran didn't know what to say; he had thought Roland’s party helped his party out of goodwill, but it turned out he was wrong about that.

"Well, what is it you want, then?" Thoran asked.

"Isn't it obvious?! Your lives, of course!" Roland declared.

Suddenly, everyone in Roland’s party burst into malevolent laughter out of nowhere.

“Hahahaha!!!”

“Muahahaha!!!”

“Bahahaha!!!”

As Thoran’s party witnessed their sinister laughter, an uneasy feeling crept over them, sensing that something was amiss.

“Alright! I’m getting kinda bored, so let's wrap things up.” Roland declared.

Instantly, Roland's demeanor shifted from chill to bloodthirsty. Without mercy, he went for the kill in a cold-blooded manner.

“Nooooooooooo!!!”

“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!!!”

“Spare meeeeee!!!”

Unfortunately, Roland was too strong, and Thoran’s party had no choice but to accept their impending death.

A few minutes later…

Like a vampire, Roland's eyes temporarily glowed red after drinking their blood. “Ah, this feels so good! I can never get tired of drinking another player’s blood, it’s simply too delicious!”

Roland was immensely satisfied. "Now then, let’s get out of here," he said to his party members.

"Yes, boss!!" replied Roland's party members in unison.

At this time, out of nowhere, Dragonire arrived on the ground floor.

Sensing Dragonire’s presence, a greedy smirk spread across Roland's party members.

‘Heh? To think another player would willingly come to me. Wow, my luck today is truly something else.’ Roland thought, a sly grin forming on his face.
