Chapter 38: Aldric’s Death

Chapter 38: Aldric’s Death

Vexar hesitated for a moment, collecting his thoughts. "Yes, Aldric is currently engaged in a battle not far from here. He's leading an army of demon soldiers against a group of players. If you follow me, I can take you to the location."

Dragonire nodded, a determined glint in his eyes. "Lead the way."

With this, Vexar led the way as Dragonire followed from behind.

Soon, they reached a beautiful, lush green valley where Dragonire witnessed numerous players and demons engaged in fierce combat. It seemed like a small war was unfolding in this picturesque setting.

‘What a beautiful valley… It's like stepping right into a fantasy game, utterly breathtaking.’ Dragonire marveled.

"There's Aldric." Vexar pointed. "So, as promised, you'll spare me and let me go now, right?"

“Yes, you may leave. Thank you.”

“Really?! Wow, thank you so much!”

“Alright, just go now and stop bothering me.”

“Yes, sir! Right away!”

Before leaving, Vexar had a quick look on Aldric and thought, ‘I don’t know what you did, but it look like you fucked up, Aldric.’ and then he left.

WHOOSH!

After witnessing Dragonire's formidable power, Vexar was convinced that Aldric was dead meat for sure.

After Vexar left, Dragonire casted ‘Time Freeze’ and sprint into battle.

TIME FREEZE!

[You have casted Time Freeze, time will stop for 10 seconds starting from now.]

It didn't take long for Dragonire to reach in front of Aldric, and now he was simply biding his time, waiting for the duration of Time Freeze to end before launching his attack on Aldric.

[2 seconds remaining before time will resume.]

Two seconds later…

[Time Freeze has ended. Time will now resume.]

The moment time resumed, Aldric instantly noticed Dragonire was right in front of him.

“Surprise motherfucker!!!” Dragonire said.

“What the?! Where did you come f—?!!”

PUNCH!!!

Dragonire delivered a powerful punch to Aldric's stomach.

The punch was so powerful that it sent Aldric flying away.

While flying in mid-air, Aldric coughed out blood, “KEUK…!!!”

‘To think his punch packs so much power! Fuck! I have to run away quickly!’ Aldric thought.

Dragonire didn’t stop there, while in mid-air, Dragonire appeared right above Aldric and did a hammer punch on Aldric’s head.

HAMMER PUNCH!!!

“Aaaaaaaaaaghhh!!!” Aldric screamed.

THUUUUMMPP!!!

Aldric crashed onto the ground and coughed out blood once more.

“KEUK…!!!!!!”

Many demons and players were stunned to witness a powerful player like Dragonire emerge seemingly out of nowhere. They stood still, speechless and in disbelief, unable to fathom the Demon Leader Aldric being tossed around like a ragdoll. However, this momentary pause was brief, and before long, they resumed their intense battle.

Meanwhile, Aldric thought it was over, but as he gazed ahead, he could see Dragonire slowly making his way toward him.

“Heh, you think you can run away from me?” Dragonire said.

“Y-You monster!!” Aldric said in a shivering voice.

“Monster? Well, you’re not wrong about that. Anyway, you look like you’re suffering, do you want me to help you ease the pain?”

Soon, Dragonire arrived in front of Aldric and grabbed Aldric’s head.

“W-What do you mean??!!” Aldric said.

“You know what I'm talking about. It means, do you want me to help put you out of your misery?”

Suddenly, another Demon Leader, a Warrior, appeared out of nowhere and launched a surprise attack on Dragonire from behind.

VERTICAL SLASH!!!

“Fuck you! Die, you filthy human!!!” The Demon Leader said.

The giant sword struck Dragonire's head with formidable force.

CLANG!!!

Upon impact, the giant sword vibrated intensely, to the Demon Leader, it felt like he was hitting a hard rock.

The surprise attack failed as it did nothing to Dragonire.

[Name: Kain]

[Title: Demon Leader]

[Class: Warrior]

[Level: B-Class]

‘Whattttttt?! How the hell is that possible?! How did that attack do nothing to him?!’ Kain thought, perplexed.

Dragonire turned around and said, “Oh, what’s this? Another Demon Leader..?”

When Dragonire turned around and wasn’t looking, Aldric quickly took out a few bottles of health potions and drank it fast.

In a moment of panic, Kain stumbled backward, and abruptly, he slipped, crashing onto the ground.

“Nooo! Please, don’t kill me! Spare me!” Kain begged.

“Bro, just leave… I’m not interested in you…” Dragonire said.

“Oh, what?! Really?! You mean it?!”

“Yeah, just leave… Bye…”

“Okay. Bye!!!”

Having dealt with Kain, Dragonire redirected his attention to Aldric. However, to his surprise, Aldric had vanished and was already making a run for it.

“Tch! That makes no sense, how did he recover so fast??” Dragonire was surprised.

During this time, Dragonire spotted a few empty health potion bottles on the ground, and finally, he understood why.

“Health potions? Ah, I see, so that's the reason why.”

TIME FREEZE!

[You have activated Time Freeze!]

WHOOSH!!!

SPRINT!!!

In a mere seven seconds, Dragonire swiftly closed the gap and caught up with Aldric.

‘Alright, let’s not waste any more time and end it here.’

FULL BLAST PUNCH!!!

[1 second remaining before time will resume.]

One second later…

[Time Freeze has ended. Time will now resume.]

The moment time resumed, Aldric instantly died on the spot.

Aldric didn’t even realize he had died.

After killing Aldric, Dragonire disappeared from the battlefield and found a quiet place where he could spend his time relaxing and chill for the rest of the day.

While some may argue that Dragonire was cruel for killing Aldric, it doesn't matter; once the tutorial ends, all demons will automatically cease to exist. So, even if Aldric didn’t die now, he would still meet his end later.

Roland sprinted through the forest, the shouts of his infuriated friends echoing behind him. However, there was no remorse in his heart, only a relentless determination to secure his survival in this unfamiliar world.

Leaving his friends behind didn't weigh on Roland's conscience. In his mind, it was a necessary choice to ensure his own well-being.

‘Fuck those guys! I didn’t do anything wrong! I only did what I had to do to survive! If they still hate me despite that, then they can go to hell for all I care!!’ Roland seethed in his thoughts.

To Roland, friends were merely tools for his survival in this challenging world. In short, he only sees his friends as pawns and nothing else, which explains why he didn’t feel guilty. After all, he never truly considered them as genuine friends in the first place.
