Chapter 41: Unexpected Monsters

The impact left Roland dazed and disoriented. He struggled to get back on his feet, his vision blurred from the force of Dragonire's smack.

Dragonire, unfazed and seemingly amused, approached Roland casually. "Still want to continue, tough guy?" he taunted.

Roland, fueled by a mix of anger and humiliation, managed to stand, albeit shakily. His face was swollen and bruised, but his defiant spirit remained unbroken. "You'll pay for this, you arrogant prick!!" Roland spat out, his voice strained.

Dragonire chuckled, finding Roland's futile resistance entertaining. "You're in no position to make threats, Roland. But if you insist..." Dragonire raised his hand, ready to deliver another punishing blow.

Suddenly, a distant noise caught their attention. Both Roland and Dragonire turned to see a group of monsters emerging from the dark woods. The creatures, attracted by the commotion, approached the scene.

ROAARRRR!!!

KRAARRRR!!!

GRAARRRR!!!

"You bastard! That smack you just made created so much noise, attracting the monsters! Now they're coming for us!" Roland accused Dragonire.

"Dumbass! You're the one who kept cursing at me and making so much noise. That's why this is happening right now." Dragonire retorted.

‘Weird. I thought I had cleared out all the monsters in this area... Hmm, I guess I might have missed some of them.’ Dragonire pondered.

While Roland was concerned about the monsters, Dragonire remained calm and relaxed. These monsters meant little to him; he could easily get rid of them. However, for Roland, the T-Rexes were a source of worry.

Despite Roland's formidable strength, he could only take on one T-Rex at a time. The situation became dire when faced with two or more.

The monsters closed in, their menacing growls reverberating through the clearing. Dragonire, with a calm demeanor, assumed a defensive stance, his fists at the ready. Roland, still recovering from the aftermath of Dragonire's assault, unsheathed his sword with a grim determination.

"You brought this upon us, Dragonire! Now, help me deal with these monsters!" Roland demanded, his anger momentarily redirected toward the common enemy.

Dragonire, with a hint of annoyance, replied, "Fine, fine. Just try not to get in my way," as he prepared to face the approaching threat.

The first wave of monsters charged, and Dragonire leaped into action. His movements were swift and precise, his fists a blur as he engaged the creatures. Roland, still recovering from the effects of the smack, followed suit, his sword clashing with the monsters.

Despite their differences, Dragonire and Roland found an odd synchronization in combat. Dragonire's agility and martial prowess complemented Roland's raw power, creating a formidable duo against the monster onslaught.

As they fought side by side, a grudging acknowledgement passed between them. The monsters, once a source of tension, now became a common adversary to overcome. The clearing echoed with the sounds of clashes and roars as the duo faced the relentless horde.

However, the situation escalated when a particularly massive T-Rex emerged from the shadows, its roars drowning out the chaos. Its imposing presence sent a shiver down Roland's spine, realizing the magnitude of the challenge ahead.

Dragonire, maintaining his calm demeanor, assessed the situation. "This one's a bit larger than the usual bunch… Interesting, I’ve never seen a T-Rex twice the size of what I usually hunt."

The colossal T-Rex advanced with purpose, its scales gleaming in the moonlight. Roland, still nursing his injuries, felt a surge of anxiety as he faced the massive adversary. Dragonire, however, remained composed, his confidence unshaken by the creature's imposing presence.

Dragonire, smirking confidently, remarked, "Well, Roland, looks like we've got ourselves a real challenge here."

Roland, eyeing the colossal T-Rex warily, nodded grimly. "I can't take on something that massive on my own. We need a plan."

The duo quickly strategized. Dragonire, recognizing the potential threat, assessed the situation. "I'll handle the T-Rex. You focus on dealing with the smaller ones.”

As the colossal T-Rex charged, Dragonire gracefully sidestepped its attacks. With a single, well-timed punch, Dragonire sent the mighty creature flying. Trees toppled like dominos as the T-Rex crashed through the forest, its roars echoing into the distance.

PUNCH!!!

ROAARRRR!!!

Roland, despite his initial worry, watched in awe as Dragonire dispatched the colossal T-Rex with astonishing ease. With the immediate threat neutralized, Roland turned his attention to the remaining smaller monsters.

Dragonire, with a confident smirk, nodded toward Roland. "I’ve done my part, so take care of the rest.”

Roland, fueled by a mix of relief and determination, faced the smaller monsters with renewed vigor. With powerful swings of his sword, he systematically dealt with the remaining creatures, clearing the immediate area.

As the last monster fell, Dragonire approached Roland, his demeanor unchanged. "See, Roland? No need to worry. I've got everything under control."

Roland, though still cautious, nodded in acknowledgment. "Idiot! This still doesn't change anything between us, Dragonire!"

Despite the monsters defeated, the tension between Roland and Dragonire remained. Roland, fueled by anger and a desire for revenge, attempted to renew his assault on Dragonire. However, Dragonire, displaying a surprising agility, easily evaded Roland's attacks.

SMACK!!!

In a swift motion, Dragonire countered Roland's aggression, landing a powerful smack that sent Roland sprawling backward. Dazed and disoriented, Roland struggled to regain his footing. Dragonire, seemingly unfazed and almost amused by the futile attempts, closed in on Roland.

Before Roland could mount another attack, Dragonire swiftly moved, bringing his foot down on Roland's stomach. The forceful impact knocked the air out of Roland's lungs, and he found himself pinned to the ground beneath Dragonire's imposing figure.

Dragonire, maintaining his calm demeanor, leaned down, his eyes locked onto Roland, "You really don't learn, do you?" he taunted, a smirk playing on his lips. "Maybe this will finally teach you some respect."

‘This loser bastard! Can't believe he deceived me by hiding his true strength all this time. Son of a bitch! I should've run away earlier. Fuck my life! Why did I let anger and pride mess me up?’ Roland thought.

Normally, Roland is a smart guy, known for making wise decisions. However, this time, his anger issues affected his judgment. Also, he always saw Dragonire as a sore loser, so deciding to run away would be a blow to his pride.
