Chapter 13: Quest Completed

While Valon’s team was exploring the battle arena to search for clues, Dragonire regained consciousness during this time.

Ding!

[You have leveled up!]

Level: C-Class >> B-Class

‘Jeez, finally... It took a while, but I'm glad I'm B-Class at last.’

Everyone on Valon’s team was C-Class, while Dragonire was B-Class, indicating a level difference. While a one-level gap might seem small, the power disparity between them was comparable to a lion versus three wolves. As we all know, three wolves aren't enough to beat a lion, so it was pretty much guaranteed win at this point—well, unless Dragonire intentionally chooses to lose; then that would be a different story.

Without anyone noticing, Dragonire rose to his feet, standing upright. He then brushed away the tiny debris that clung to his body. Following that, he began to stretch himself, the audible sound of cracking bones accompanying each movement.

It didn’t take long for Amelia, Xavier, and Valon to sense Dragonire’s presence. The moment they found out Dragonire was still alive, their hearts sank; for a brief moment, they felt as if their whole world had collapsed. It was as though their instincts were warning them that something bad was about to happen.

“What the fuck?! How is he still alive?!” Valon said.

“M-Monster!” Xavier gasped.

“I don’t know why, but I have a bad feeling about this...” Amelia said.

Valon and Xavier were the most terrified, instantly regretting their earlier actions towards Dragonire. Their gut feeling suggested that Dragonire wouldn't let them off easily. In contrast, Amelia felt that Dragonire might show her some leniency. In short, only Amelia would have an easy death, whereas Valon and Xavier were destined to endure considerable suffering before their demise.

Valon and Xavier gulped in fear, their hands sweating, and their hearts beating rapidly.

Meanwhile, Dragonire took his sweet time stretching and warming up. He wasn't in a rush to kill them; after all, there was no time limit for this quest.

Valon's team soon approached Dragonire, and from their body language and facial expressions, it was evident that they harbored a sense of fear towards Dragonire.

“Y-You, how are you still alive?!!” Xavier stammered in a shivering voice.

“Oh, I thought you already knew? Didn’t you call me a monster earlier?” Dragonire replied, his gaze fixed on Xavier, sending Xavier chills down his spine.

“This doesn’t make sense at all! We were certain you were dead just a moment ago. Your heart wasn't even beating, let alone your brain functioning. So how?! How are you still alive?!” Valon said.

“Monster…” Amelia muttered.

“Meh… Let’s just say I’m unkillable.” Dragonire replied.

“Huh?! Unkillable??!” Valon questioned.

“Wait… I thought you were dead just now? So how does that make you unkillable?” Xavier questioned with a furrowed brow.

“Yeah, but I revived.” Dragonire explained.

“Revive? Do such skills even exist?” Amelia asked, curious.

"Ha! I understand now! So, it turns out you possess a Revive skill. Yup, that must be it. That explains why you were able to come back to life." Valon said.

“Eh… not quite… but close enough.” Dragonire replied.

“Not quite?? Close enough???” Valon questioned.

Everyone was confused because if it wasn't "revived," then what else could it be? Respawn? Resurrect?

“Alright, enough talking. I’m getting kinda hungry, so let’s end this quickly.” Dragonire said.

Upon hearing that, Valon, Xavier, and Amelia immediately dropped to their knees, begging for their lives.

"Please! Don't kill us!" pleaded Xavier.

"Yes, have mercy!" begged Amelia.

"We beg you! Please let us live!" pleaded Valon.

"Are you guys serious right now? You do realize that's not how the quest works, right?" Dragonire said.

"Yes, we know! But please spare us!" Xavier pleaded.

"Yes! Please, let us live so the three of us can complete the quest!" Valon urged.

"You want me to die? Are you guys crazy? And why should I do that?" Dragonire questioned.

"Because there are three of us, while you are alone. If you die, it's only one life wasted, but if we die, it's three lives wasted. Three lives are more valuable than one life!" argued Valon.

"That's right! As fellow humans, you should help us and let us live! It's for the sake of humanity, and it's the right thing to do!" Xavier pleaded.

"Holy fucking shit!" Dragonire couldn't believe how delusional and ridiculous Valon and Xavier were.

‘I swear, these two guys are next level. How did they even come up with such logic? Man, I can’t stand these two anymore. I’m just going to end this bullshit right now!’ Dragonire thought.

"Blah blah blah! Just die!" Dragonire exclaimed.

Without mercy, Dragonire killed Amelia first. Since he didn’t hold any grudge against her, he ensured to give her a fast and painless death. Unfortunately, her demise was still brutal—her head was crushed like a tomato.

‘Whoa, so this is the power gap between a B-Class and a C-Class, huh?’ Dragonire couldn't help but feel impressed by his newfound strength.

Observing how effortlessly Dragonire took Amelia's life, Xavier and Valon became even more terrified.

"No, please! Please, don’t kill me! I apologize for treating you poorly earlier!" pleaded Xavier.

"Please, I beg you! I'm sorry about earlier too! Forgive me! Please, spare my life!" begged Valon.

"Huh? Who said I'm going to kill you two, not yet. There's still something much better to do first. Hehe! Don't worry, you guys will soon find out what I mean." Dragonire said with an evil smile.

Witnessing Dragonire's malevolent grin, Valon and Xavier immediately knew what Dragonire was planning to do.

"Fuck you!! You son of a bitch!!!" Valon said.

"Yeah, fuck you!! Motherfucker!! Suck my fucking d**k!!!" Xavier retorted.

Knowing they were going to endure torture and eventually die, they decided to curse Dragonire as much as they could before it was too late to do so after death.

"Hahaha! I knew it! You guys were never sincere with your apology since the very beginning. Alright! Let’s not waste time and get started!" Dragonire said.

"Nooooooooooooo!!!!"

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaghhh!!!"

"Muahahahaha!!! This is fun!!!" Dragonire chuckled.

SLAP!!! SLAP!!! SLAP!!!

PA!!! PA!!! PA!!!

Approximately fifteen minutes later…

[Quest Completed!]

"Woohoo! Hooray! Damn! I never knew that seeking revenge could be so satisfying! Man, this feels so good!"

For Xavier, Dragonire subjected him to only five minutes of torture before ending his life, whereas for Valon, it was ten minutes of torment before Dragonire brought about his demise.

Dragonire wasn’t excessively cruel with his methods; he mostly just slapped them hard on their cheeks throughout the ordeal before ending their lives.

After the gruesome episode, an exit portal materialized, providing Dragonire with a means to leave the dungeon.

“Alright, let's get out of here.”

With that, Dragonire entered the portal and returned to the lobby room, Shroom Village.
