Chapter 69, Overkill.

----------------------------------------

"Ba'ema." Goteka recast his move, Lumoof once again holding his palm up.

"With this little firepower, you do not have a chance of winning." Lumoof spoke, stepping forward, halving the distance between the two.

"You are nothing compared to those back in Vitaria."

In an instant, the Vitarian disappeared, escaping Lumoof's senses.

*BOOM*

A fist was burrowed into Lumoof's side, caving his stomach and forcing him to his left.

"*Cough*, I may admit that you hit hard." Lumoof clutched his right side with his left palm, the free arm flying out and backhanding Goteka into a mountain range hundreds of miles away.

He moved with speed that betrayed his size.

"RAHH!" Goteka yelled from a distance, instantly appearing above Lumoof, knocking the behemoth straight to the floor with a downwards hammer to his head.

"Good one." The titan seemed to dematerialize, disappearing from reality.

"I guess I underestimated you." Goteka muttered, wildly turning, focusing his vision.

"I wasn't aware of average Sacred Beasts having such intricate control." Squinting, Goteka's eyes continued to dart around, his hands itching to move.

"Gotcha!" He said, spinning around and firing a quick beam of energy forward.

It collided with something in space, shattering Lumoof's veil.

But, that didn't stop the beast.

His fist was moving for Goteka, making the latter reinforce his body and brace for impact.

But his prediction was wrong.

Lumoof grabbed Goteka in his palm, crushing the small creature with every ounce of his might.

His grip was so powerful that the air around his fist faltered, heating up to such an extent that one could see the heat waves emitting.

Yet, he could tell that wouldn't be enough.

His other hand was brought into the picture, the palm entrapping Goteka making space for the other hand to slide into position.

With Goteka in the center of both palms, Lumoof squeezed, forcing copious amounts of kreus into his hands.

A greenish-blue light emitted from his grasp, shining so bright that it seemed to drown out even the Iris in the sky.

*BANG*

Lumoof's fist popped open, Goteka shooting out and punching straight up into the behemoth's jaw.

The light that was concentrated within the now open palms, shot out, leveling trees, and forming smaller craters in the ground.

Lumoof had taken the brunt of the attack, violently bringing his hand to his chin, as if trying to swat a bug that had found itself there.

Of course, Goteka moved before his hand could arrive, having maneuvered himself right next to Lumoof's face.

*BOOM*

Lumoof was struck with a strong fist, throwing the 120 meter beast.

"Come on... I've barely taken any damage!" Goteka exclaimed, spreading his arms and beckoning Lumoof's attack.

"I would, but this is a fruitless endeavor." Goteka could hardly twitch his eyelid before he was faced with a scorching pain that seemed to attack him at his very core.

"BAHH!" He screamed, being torched and relentlessly pushed miles away.

The ground rumbled, a creature of just slightly smaller stature than Lumoof, entering the battlefield.

It was reptilian, a well known variant of Sacred Beast to the Beastkin.

A True Dragon.

And the True Dragon in question was one of the more powerful ones. Jefyu, the Harvester.

He was a demon among the Sacred Beasts.

Huge blood red wings that could block out the sun. A long thin neck that held up a malnourished, almost boney face.

It had two long arms, with four fingered hands, and long dexterous legs that had the same four claws.

It was said that Jefyu was one of the originating Sacred Beasts on the continent, having wiped out and butchered countless species well over one hundred and fifty thousand years ago.

The pillar of fire that had threatened to eradicate Goteka's existence had belonged to Jefyu himself.

"Well done gauging its power level Lumoof.” The Blood Dragon spoke rather politely,

”These creatures are special… They have so much kreus compacted into these tiny frames! This small bug has nearly as much life force as me…” Jefyu said, the continent raising by a few degrees.

In an almost instantaneous movement, the hundred meter dragon leaped, traveling a dozen miles and landed on the recovering Goteka.

The sheer heat and pressure of Jefyu’s flames had removed 60% of the Vitarian’s muscle and meat.

“The Sacred Beasts in Vitaria were always too outnumbered to experiment with them… But here, I have enough time to run basic experiments.” A sinister smile appeared on the lizards face, its maw opening.

”But surely that isn’t all you have? Is it?” With his jest, steam started to rise from Goteka’s body, a roaring noise building up.

”STOP TALKING.” The ant roared, bouncing from his fell position, striking Jefyu’s jaw.

In half a second, Goteka repaired 50% of his body, but unfortunately that wasn’t enough to damage a creature like Jefyu.

The dragon took the brunt of the attack, just barely turning his cheek.

The momentum of the strike carried Goteka a little farther, the man having to fight to regain his balance in mid air.

”You have the blood of demon in you, yet you are this weak?” Jefyu taunted, chuckling loudly.

Lumoof crossed his arms watching the scene unfold.

”Where are those Primordials of yours? Perhaps they would challenge me…” The dragon jested, swiping a claw at the unstable Goteka, launching him into the ground.

"This is so disappointing! Where is that Vitarian flame you are supposed to hold?"

If Lumoof had eyelids, he would surely be squinting.

Taunting one of the legendary Vitarian's?

Where was Jefyu going was this... Vitarian's get stronger as they continue to fight, and this was something well known by the Sacred Beasts.

Yet, at the same time they get weaker...

They received power boosts, in exchange for extreme weakness when the adrenaline wore off... It was a powerful ability with heavy downsides of course.

Maybe he was trying to drain him of his power so he was completely unable to fight back after the fact?

"SHUT UP." Goteka screamed, bursting from the ground and sending quite the viscous uppercut to Jefyu's mandible.

Unexpectedly, this one actually had a great deal of knockback, lifting the dragon off the ground and forcing it to take flight.

"Ooh, that one hurt! That is enough." Jefyu seemed to smirk, his maw widening.

"It's time to sleep, little Vitarian."

*BOOM*

It was a piercing laser, apocalypse concentrated into a single, defined beam.

The breath of a dragon, shaped as something much more devastating.

Goteka was pummeled to the ground due to the sheer pressure, being pushed miles away from the battle as Jefyu tracked him.

A deep cavern was created as the dragon's beam cut through the earth, Goteka's physical resilience being challenged.

It lasted a whole seven seconds, scorching the land with its roaring flame.

It was heard around the continent.

Even some that were slightly elevated were able to see it from a vast distance.

The higher ups within the Human's capital being able to see the blinding light from dozens of miles away.

"Overkill." Lumoof muttered, unfolding his arms as he shifted his positioning.

"Not nearly. It will take him time to recover from my fire. He will burn his life force in attempt and become completely manageable." Jefyu responded, touching down on earth.

"They will not take their blood being kidnapped... lightly, to say the least." Lumoof replied, arriving before the unconscious, and half alive Vitarian.

He bent over, grabbing the man, holding him up in his palm.

"Experimentation on these creatures will open up a new future for us. If we learn how to compress our Kreus the way they do... We will become thousands of times more powerful. The size of our natural form should allow for a capacity that is infinitely larger than theirs." Jefyu took the Vitarian from Lumoof, pinching him by the leg and holding him up before his eyes.

"This will be a historical find..." He muttered, "Deal with the Humans and our descendants. They were destined to meet, but they are not enemies. what we need to focus on is combatting the Vitarians. They are expanding at a rate that we have never seen before." Jefyu commanded Lumoof, the latter nodding in response.

In dragon flapped its wings, leaving the ground.

With each flap, trees topped, and lakes were displaced.

"Return to Alacor's Rest when you have finished." With those words, Jefyu took flight, fading out of reality as he left the scene.

"Humans huh... To think you were able to return after we wiped your kind off the face of the earth..." Lumoof noted, turning and looking at the group of creatures laying on the ground, clearly frightened out of their minds.

"I was wondering when our people would meet once more... It's been nearly two hundred thousand years."
