Chapter 58, The Master of Magicka
----------------------------------------
...
Amon continued to study what he dubbed as Magicka. He could feel that when getting his first magic power, he started generating Magicka in his own body, but it was almost impossible to control.
To him, it seemed like an extra layer in his body, built purely of magic. The layer itself was thin, but the magicka ran through every crevice of his body, giving him a visible upgrade.
His muscles became more prominent, and he even grew stronger physically. What he was happiest about however, was his height. He hadn't noticed it earlier because he was sitting down, but it was clear that he had grown at least 5 more inches.
He towered over his old self even though he was 6'2 before his growth. Eventually, he stopped fawning over his new body and looked down at Adam.
He was being held by Amon's hands, and was surprisingly happy, considering he didn't know if he would just be dropped.
He could feel the heavy fear he held, but the satisfaction that he got from flying dwarfed it. He also didn't waste this chance to examine the world around, marveling at the massive forest under them, and mountains that shockingly, made the clouds seem like fog that sat a third of the way up.
"Jesus..." Adam muttered with a shocked face.
Hearing the words come out of Adam's mouth, Amon decided to mess with him slightly.
"Jesus? Who might that be?" He asked with a curious tone, making Adam stutter a bit.
"I-Umm..." Amon continued to look around the forest for the ideal spot to build a home. "He's... a powerful... demi-god!" He answered weirdly. It was clear he had made it up on the spot by his mannerisms.
'Was I really that bad of a liar?' Amon thought with a chuckle.
'I can't just say, "He's the son of God! The one and only!". I don't know what this guy is and it might be insulting...' Were the thoughts Amon heard while peering into his second mind.
"Hmm... A Demigod you say?" Amon started, "I've been absent for quite a long time, so I don't know about the affairs of the gods... Would you mind telling me who his parents are? Or has he risen through the ranks with power?" He enjoyed seeing Adam struggle to answer this question.
'Fuck!' Adam yelled at himself. 'What's God's circle thing?...' He started to sweat beads, thinking he was taking too long to answer.
"N-No. He's the son of a secretive god called the Holy Spirit." He said with unsureness.
"From what I know, he's extremely powerful and has kept his presence hidden for as long as time itself. Not many, if not none know of him besides me."
He went in depth on the background of this God, not wanting Amon to ask anymore questions about the subject.
"I only know of him because... my grandparents were lucky enough to come across one of his few shrines when they were young." Adam finished, hoping this was enough to satisfy his other self.
"He sounds interesting... maybe I should meet him one day..." Amon joked, as he found the perfect spot to build this new home.
He angled his body downwards and flew towards a clearing in the forest. It was surrounded by the tall trees that made it look like an isolated land only available to certain people.
*Woosh*
Amon came to a stop, letting the dust around him settle. He placed Adam on the ground and released his shoulders while he looked towards a few trees in the forest. He walked over to them and placed a hand on one, as if he was speaking to the tree.
But really it was just for show, he enjoyed messing with people and seeming powerful.
After letting his palm rest on the tree for a few seconds, he dug into the tree with his fingers, gripping it with a fierce hand.
Using brute strength, along with charging his muscles with as much Magicka as he could, he ripped the tree out of the ground.
The green and blue electricity that danced around his arm as his veins popped out, and his muscles grew, made him seem like a true god to Adam.
He lifted the tree with his other arm behind his back like he was holding it with no effort.
Well, he could feel the weight behind the tree, but he wasn't actively putting all his strength behind carrying the tree thanks to the magicka running through his body.
*BOOM*
He tossed the tree, which dented the grass a bit. He once again turned towards a tree and put his palm on it.
*Crack*
He gripped it and uprooted it, just like the other.
*BOOM*
It was tossed and landed next to the other tree, before he turned to get another tree.
He continued to grab trees before punching the ground and grabbing the stone underneath, all the while Adam just watched in wonder.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
After having stacks of wood and stone, he lifted his hand and created large amounts of stone like material that was pretty durable.
Then he used one of his special abilities!
'[All Fusion].' All the materials glowed with a faint light and started to combine and reshape. The newly created material was laced inside of the dismantling wood and stone as they formed walls and floors.
It had a property that enhanced any material it was combined with, so he knew this new house would last for centuries upon centuries.
After almost a minute of materials laying over each other, a brand new, large house was formed.
It was reminiscent of a cottage mansion, inducing the effect of taking one back in time a few centuries.
"This'll do for now. Come." Amon spoke, motioning for Adam as he created multiple things inside the house. From things like simple couches to majestic statues, so once they made their way inside, they were both hit by the creativeness of the house.
Though Amon didn't react, he had already seen everything through the walls.
"You can take a room up the stairs... I'll leave you to your own, and you'll leave me to mine. Though you can still come and ask if you need anything." Saying this, Amon turned around and left the house.
'I get what they meant by hard to live...' Adam whispered in his mind, watching Amon leave out the corner of his eyes.
'Considering I'm positive I would still get clobbered by that monkey, it's definitely hard...' Amon said to himself in response to the thoughts he heard.
Leaving the house, he looked at his surroundings. The open area had enough space to fit a few houses, and there was still some space under the trees. 'It could make a good shaded area.' He thought.
'Maybe a pantheon? I could build a council of strong beings and rule the world...'
He continued to question what his purpose in this world could be, well, besides living that is. He eventually came across one point he was unsure of.
'I know for a fact that gods exist in this world, I don't know how, but I do...' He contemplated, sitting on an invisible stone that made it seem like he was floating.
'I also know there are monsters... beasts that are capable of obliterating these gods. So it's clear that I'll need enough power to fend for myself eventually, but will I be able to do it alone? Or with my other self I guess...'
He wondered and wondered what to do with his new life, when he decided to move on and just make a goal to get stronger.
'Magicka...' He muttered to himself and focused on the energy inside his body.
He could only compare trying to move the energy to trying to move an arm when it was stuck in a cast for 5 years. It was like his arm was deathly weak, and its strength was nonexistent. It took a lot of strain to focus 10 percent of his energy into his palm since it was such a small area, but the power he gained from it was insane.
The strength in his hand increased by at least 10 times, and even his skin became as hard as stone, not to mention his bones and muscles.
It seemed that this abundant amount of energy came along with his [Object Creation], and he couldn't complain.
His hand was covered in cerulean electricity, making it seem like his entire fist was made purely of lightning.
After a few seconds it started shaking. At first, it wasn't so bad, but after a few more seconds, it was shaking uncontrollably, then his whole arm was vibrating at speeds that seemed impossible.
It was then that he started feeling sharp pains. They increasingly got worse until he stopped, letting his Magicka disperse back into his body, leaving behind a veiny, pale white hand. The muscles on his forearm had grown massive but they were slowly getting smaller.
If not for his regeneration, the pain that would have been less phantom would have been unbearable.
But now, he could feel it was slightly easier to move his Magicka and pull it out of his body.
He continued to do this "exercise" for months as he mastered his control over magicka. He left an abundant amount of fake books on random topics that Adam would think unbelievable. Like a book on the formation of universes and things like oxygen, while also stating that it was lost knowledge, not common to most.
Adam was able to study and "secretly" grow stronger by furthering his [Adjustability]. He started working out and put on quite a bit of muscle. He was also healed by Amon since he looked pretty disgusting.
Adam willingly renovated the clearing along with the help of Amon at times. Now there was a large pond decorated by stones and a bridge. There was a stone path that connected it to the house, and a storage building that housed food for Adam alongside other things like clothes, and extra books. It was basically his own study room that he used to read and work out since it was relatively spacious.
It was currently morning, and Amon was "floating" in the air with his eyes closed, his armor off since he had long removed it at the start of his training. He was on the verge of having full control over his magic.
Slowly, steam was released from his body as the area around him heated up. He opened his eyes, and lightning bolted out of them.
One of his arms transformed, getting covered by a layer of stone.
The other arm was engulfed by fire.
He opened his mouth and blew out a little air, the wind from his mouth flowing around him visibly.
Both his legs turned silver, hardening themselves.
And finally, water materialized in front of his stomach and moved, flowing around his body forming a protective sphere.
[New skill developed!]
[Meta Power: Nigh-Almighty Magicka]
"So... powerful." He said, releasing all the elements as they disappeared flowing back into his body as an energy invisible to the naked eye.
With his magicka he dismantled the invisible box under him and actually levitated by creating strong wind under him.
"Sir, I've got to ask... How do you do this stuff." Adam asked while curling 400kg dumbbells off to the side.
Thanks to Amon's strange healing ability, Adam's recovery and the speed at which his cells regenerated increased, allowing him to get stronger quicker.
But Amon was too busy examining the sub-energy he could feel in the air now. Before, it was too weak to notice, but now that his power had increased so much, and he was focusing incredibly hard just a second ago, he could actually feel it.
He touched the air, and gripped, pulling a blue-green energy forward that both he and Adam were able to see.
'What is this? A weaker version? Diluted?'
This weak energy was similar to his Magicka, but very different. It felt unnatural when in his hands.
It was like comparing a cup of apple juice to a cup of water with an eighth of juice in it.
He felt this energy could only be capable of transforming into different elements. It was very underwhelming considering he just mastered his Magicka.
But one thing that was extremely important about this energy, was how weak it was. Thanks to the fact that it was so weak, it seemed that normal people who didn't have bodies made of titanium could utilize it.
'It's like someone with Magicka created this for the weak...' He said, believing this was true.
'Since it's still magic, how about... Mana, the "normal" energy that people should be able to use. While Magicka is the power made for the strong.' As he was thinking this, he recalled what Adam had asked him a few minutes ago.
He looked over at him to see him watching the green energy twist and turn in his fingers.
"I utilize Magicka, but you are far too weak to use it." Amon said, letting Adam's hopes down slightly.
"But..." Amon paused. "You should be able to use this. It's called Mana, and it's what I assume weak beings use." He said, earning a flinch from Adam since he was called weak straight to his face.
"Well..." Adam muttered, confused. "Yes, I can teach you how to use it." Amon smiled.
'YES!' Adam exploded in his mind.
Amon chuckled, and let Adam go back to his workout.
