Chapter 67, When Worlds Collide...

----------------------------------------

*BOOOM*

”Haaa… I’ve made it!” A rough man, looking about 20 years old said. He had landed face first in the ground, forming a crater and silencing all nearby wildlife.

He appeared out of quite literally, nowhere, disrupting the flow of nature and accidentally eradicating the colony of bugs that were living a few inches beneath the soil.

"The Observant was correct. There was land in this part of the world..." He muttered, pushing himself to his feet. He hovered a hand over his chest and expelled a strange energy, washing all the dirt and damage off of him.

When looking at him, you would notice his body was riddled with scars, giving him an almost naturally rough skin texture. He had slightly long white hair, having it parted to the side. The sclera of his eyes were black, giving him quite the frightening gaze.

Noticeably, he was incredibly chiseled, having a lean body.

Though, the most noticeable features, next to his incredibly pale skin and lack of clothes, was his height.

The man was easily eight feet tall.

One wouldn't think he was well below the average height for his species...

This two hundred year old man was Goteka, or better known as, "The Vitarian Prodigy".

In an effort to disperse some of his power, the Vitarian Primordial conceived a child. He forcefully imparted a large portion of his power onto the offspring, creating a generational talent never before seen in the time he had been alive.

This child of course only grew as time passed, and now, at the ripe age of 200, he had become a pioneer.

A name that would be written down in the history books.

"To be the first to set foot on another continent is a large accomplishment... I'm sure the Watcher would have done so many millennia ago if he wasn't so occupied these days..." Goteka said, trotting forward as he lamented over his father's predicament.

Chained down by the world, forced to find ways to become weaker so he could be allowed to live? That's something Goteka wished he would not have to experience...

Though of course, by the time he was that powerful, he was sure his father would have long found a way to bypass such restrictions.

He did not have to worry about such trivial matters...

What he did have to worry about however, was exploring this new place, hopefully finding something that could assist in his fathers situation.

"Only God knows how much searching we did back in Vitaria..." He chuckled beneath his breathe, his feet rising off the ground as his eyes silently shut.

He sent out a wave of his life energy, using a well known sonar technique that was develop many years ago in their homeland.

"Sa'onar." He whispered beneath his breathe, his nose, ears, and even eyelids twitching.

He remotely connected his senses with the wave of life energy, feeling, hearing, seeing, and even smelling all around him.

"Two settlements... and I'm directly in the middle of them." He smiled, slowly opening his eyes.

"...And it seems they are both coming to investigate." Seeing this, Goteka sat right back down, crossing his legs and waiting for the strangely unexpected foreigners to reach him.

...

Humanity was in a good spot. It progressed to the medieval age, the human kingdom proudly standing in the center of our continent.

We grew in size, power, and intelligence, becoming powerful enough that some of us were even confident enough to combat the beasts beyond our borders.

Of course the higher ups were sane not to pick a fight with such demons.

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

Why would we willingly fight with creatures that are physically stronger and faster than us, with tools just as powerful as some of ours?

Exactly... We wouldn't.

Though, of course there were some of us that were powerful enough to combat them. The Kings Swordsmen for example.

We are quite skilled, and are some of the few people that have been able to grasp the intricacies of the supernatural.

Despite not holding a candle to the king, we are still a powerful legion of people...

So, it was not completely unexpected that the king tasked us with investigating the fallen object that landed to our north.

When it happened, we had not even known something had fallen from the sky, all that we knew, all that anyone knew, for that matter, was that there was a huge explosion to our northside.

A small shockwave had even managed to reach our northernmost buildings, creating a small earthquake.

Only the king, one of the only people truly able to manipulate his life force, was able to see it.

Even I, the Kings Sword, had not seen anything...

But that does not matter, I cannot expect to hold even a fraction of the power of a true king...

Today is the day we finally completed our mission.

We were ordered to search for the strange object, the king having estimated it was a few days away from us on foot.

Of course as the we are supernaturals, we were able to cut it down to just one day.

Unfortunately, we did not think this day would go down in the history books.

We expected it to be a piece of a fallen star or something of the likes. Maybe even just a stray lightning bolt that just decimated the ground...

We were surely mistaken.

I pushed through the foliage, leading my men to the clearing.

Before us was a deep crater, one as wide as a lake.

"That's big..." One of my men said, forcing me to shush him.

I don't know if it was because I was the most powerful. The one with the most energy... or what.

But I could feel it.

Before I even rounded the ridge, and peered into the cavern, I could sense what was waiting for me.

"Something is down there... Someone is down there." I whispered, halting my men, slowing their approach as I did my own.

Once I had rounded the ridge, my eyes nearly bulged out my head.

Sitting in the center-point, was a man. A strangely large, pale skinned, white haired, and naked man.

Even though he was sitting, it was easy to tell that he dwarfed any man within our kingdom.

Was he the cause?

I thought to myself, sweat dripping down my face.

As a supernatural, I had heightened senses. When looking at the king, it felt as If I was a teenage boy, just barely growing the balls to stand up against my father. When consulting my squad mates, they felt it was like they were an ambitious child, trying to wrestle their grown father to the ground.

And now, staring at this man, I felt as if I was a newborn child, staring into the face of the god of death...

I wanted to turn back, to tell my men to retreat.

But no words came out of my mouth.

I tried to move, but I couldn't, and I unfortunately could not stop my men from rounding the ridge as I had just done.

I heard them choke up, and I could feel their fear with my spiritual sense.

They were scared. Far more frightened than even I was.

But we didn't have time to be afraid.

On the opposite side of the crater, the trees ruffled, bringing my attention to it.

I felt more presences with my spiritual sense.

And, there they were before my eyes.

Four creatures pierced the foliage, rounding the ridge and gazing into the crater as I had did.

But I didn't care about what they were doing, I cared about what I was seeing.

At the forefront was a creature, bipedal, buff, huge even. It looked as if it was a similar height as the man in the crater, but that did not matter.

It wore baggy pants, two hooves peeking out at the bottom. There was a tail that escaped its backside. It's arms were like thick trunks, clearly capable of crushing me to death.

Turning my gaze just a little upwards, I saw a weird fur pattern on its chest, blue spots appearing whereas its whole body was gray. It even wore some ornamental jewelry around its thick neck.

My eyes inched further, and what greeted me was one of my worst nightmares.

it was the face of a cow, two horns protruding from just above it's floppy ears.

I watched as its small eyes widened, its head craning to the small bipedal hyena next to it.

They exchanged words, and I could see an expression resembling that of fear and determination on the hyena's face.

I flicked back to the cow creature, watching as it unveiled a sword from its backsword.

A thick metal object that was clearly almost as long as me.

Instinctively, my hand reached for my scabbard.

I could not let this beast attempt any form of harm on the man below us.

I did not want war to start between our species, and I was sure that if they dared lay a finger on the man in the crater, they would be reduced to smithereens...

"Pitiful! To think you are that powerful, yet not intelligent enough to understand when you have a chance in battle or not? It's quite laughable honestly." The man spoke for the first time, tilting his head directly up, though his eyes were still closed.

"Be grateful I am not here for a fight!" He shook his head, an expression of sadness on his face.

"In fact, I am here to inquire the help of both of your races! I was sent by my father, the Observant, the Man Below God... I am here on a mission!" He said, opening his eyes, revealing a pitch black gaze that struck fear in my soul.

He placed his hands on the ground, slowly standing up.

"I was tasked with finding something, quite literally anything, be it man, item, or even words, that may help my people." He explained.

"I was tasked with a mission that could determine the fate of the world! So do well, and take me to your leaders!" The man smiled, throwing his hands into the air.

...

There was silence.

I was in shock, he had just spoken to both of our parties, and I was certain that the beasts too had understood what he was saying.

"Or perhaps... bring them to me, that is a lot more convenient." He plopped himself back on the ground, wrapping his arms over his chest, and crossing his legs.

"I don't have all year, scurry on!"
