Chapter 4, Revenant

Chapter 4, Revenant

----------------------------------------

Lokreum and Adam appeared back within the undead's home world.

Everything had a grey tint to it, as if time was paused, and life lost its color.

Looking around they both noticed they were back in the cemetery at the point in time where Adam had just removed the heart of Tommy's friend.

They could see the old and much weaker version of the undead peaking at them from the corner of its vision, unable to move but still able to think while time was stopped.

"A remarkable willpower." Lokreum said, approaching the old Adam. He placed a hand on his shoulder and he was immediately transported to his temporary makeshift laboratory resting in the True Abyss.

"How about we give you a new name." Lokreum said, looking at the evolved Adam, who had taken the spot of his previous self.

"Un." Adam grunted a sign of approval.

”Revenant. That name sounds much more fitting of someone like you.” Lokreum said, the newly named undead nodding in confirmation.

”Now you can whatever it is you wish to do. Have fun, and make it an enjoyable scene at the very least.” Lokreum said, becoming disappearing from before Revenant.

….

The God of All Reality had previously spent a few days with his new finding.

Lokreum wasted days within the True Abyss, directing Revenant and having him build his laboratory as to test his capabilities.

This small test included making him carry metals that held the weight of planets, and even manufacturing electronic equipment.

He was fond of the creature, and was going to soak in at least a little of theatrics on “Earth”.

So, he resumed time, letting everything unfold.

"YOU FUCKER!" Tommy yelled as soon as sound could be heard. This caused Revenant to turn around and ignore the falling body behind him.

He had swapped places with his old self, and it was easy to tell something had changed.

His overall appearance differed and Tommy noticed but, couldn't make any sense of it.

His height had increased by almost two feet and he had became many times more built. His shoulders had become much broader with his forearms thickening.

He wore black pants with a brown belt that kept his blue shirt tucked in. Over that was a blue coat that seemed a little too small for him that was filled with holes like the rest of his clothes. His skin was rotten and grey showing how undead he truly was.

Even his mask was broken at the bottom, revealing his mouth that wasn't as deformed as before, but still just as frightening.

His eyes had lost their touch, as what before made him seem somewhat human, were now just dark holes.

He had truly become a demon.

"Tommy..." Revenant growled with his deep and raspy voice, making Tommy shiver with fear.

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

"What the hell... You can talk now!?" He said with panic, picking up the can of gasoline behind him.

"Fuck!" He cursed while opening the can.

Revenant lifted his arms up, giving them a good few cracks while looking at the boy in front of him with an eerie smile.

"Tch."

With the open gas can, Tommy motioned towards Revenant, letting the gasoline touch each and every part of his body.

"Heh." Revenant chuckled, waiting for a few moments as Tommy attempted to light a match.

"What the hell!" He panicked as water dripped on him. Slowly, clouds appeared above the two as water rained down over them.

"Plants need water." Revenant chuckled, feeling the water as it touched his palms.

Thanks to a certain evolution, Revenant was able to connect with the Greater Law of Weather.

He was able to predict the changes in thr weather, and even control them to an extent.

He stood motionless when Tommy was motionless because he knew the rain was coming.

Even though he was fireproof, he surely wouldn’t have allowed the human to just might him aflame.

"Jesus Christ!" With somewhat quick thinking, Tommy turned around and dashed for his car, Revenant smiling and following after with an unnatural walking speed.

With each unbelievably long stride of his, it seemed as if he was truly floating.

He chased after the running Tommy, letting him reach his car at the last second.

*Slam!*

The car door was slammed shut as Tommy started his truck, speeding off as fast as he could.

"Hehe, scared." Revenant chuckled watching as Tommy left him behind in the cemetery.

"Why would you let him go?" Lokreum asked, revealing himself as he towered over Revenant's shoulders.

"Hope." He responded.

"He think he live. He get help. More kill." Revenant said.

He was truly addicted to killing.

...

----------------------------------------

Revenant sped down the roads of the Forest. He used his heightened senses to the fullest to hunt down each and every human soul he came across.

Clearly the speed cars moved at were no match for his teleportation.

"AHHHH!!!" A scream sounded throughout the woods as Revenant finished slaughtering a random couple.

With each kill, he devoured the life force of his victim, adding their kreus to his own and growing slightly stronger and more intelligent.

"Quiet." He muttered, turning towards the trees and teleporting with a gust of black smoke.

*Slice*

His hand cut through the young teens body with unbelievable ease.

"Hah!" He laughed maniacally, taking the woman's head and biting into it as if it was an apple.

"It seems giving you more intelligence made you more psychotic." Lokreum murmured over Revenant’s shoulders, still unseen but being heard.

"Well it does make sense. The trauma you've been put through is immense, basically all you know is murder."

"Fun." Revenant responded, tossing the body away and teleporting farther into the forest.

"Did you hear that?" A simple sentence caught the attention of the two godly beings, making Revenant teleport over to them almost instantly.

There was a couple that had stopped on a back route towards the lake. They had packed quite a bit of gear, so even without peering into their minds Lokreum could easily infer what they were here for.

"They're definitely heading to the lake, they might be campers." He whispered to Revenant.

In response, Revenant stomped towards the stopped car, gaining there attention. They both swiftly turned their necks to see what the commotion was but saw nothing.

Revenant had already teleported, appearing in front the road before them.

"Derrick... We better turn around." The woman in the drivers seat said cautiously, staring into Revenant's ominous eyes.

"What do you mean?" Derrick responded, slowly looking towards where Revenant was.

"Holy shit." He muttered, clearly frightened by the sight of the massive being.

"Ye-"

*Slice*

With a single motion, half the car was cut , a diagonal line appearing across Derrick's body as he fell apart just like the car.

Appearing On top of the car, Revenant pried it apart before yanking the woman, Lizabeth, right from her seat, snapping the seat belt with ease.

"Hello." He said with a smile, before his face was battered with punches and slaps, screams echoing off the trees simultaneously.

"AHHHH!! LET GO!!!" Lizabeth yelled, tears rolling down her face as she continued to scream.

Wanting to toy with her, Revenant deliberately dropped her after receiving her strongest hit.

*Plop*

She bounced on the ground, groaning before she quickly got to her feet.

"Derrick!" She yelled, looking through the car window and seeing the mangled body of her brother.

"Oh god..."

Not daring to look back, she made a dash for the woods with teary eyes.

*Plat*

Revenant dropped to the ground, striding after the escaping woman.

"Fun..." He muttered with a merciless tone laced into his words.
