IMPERIAL BAY
PROGENITOR JORDON
“Come.” Progenitor Jordan, the leader of the Imperium on Serendipity and Fortitude as a whole, said to the arrogant gnome power armors.
He used his identification Art to get information on one of the water-powered armor. They were Diamond Tier, he wasn’t surprised the gnomes were the best crafters in the universe out side of Dwarves, but Gnome’s moral compasses weren’t pointing as north as Dwarves.
The first power armor got to him and transformed from boat to bipedal form in a fluid motion, only to be cut in half by a blade of water and a causal hand swipe. That, of course, did not kill a Diamond Tier power armor; it probably had more HP than him, but the kind of damage did put it out of the fight for a bit so that the cultivator could make short work of the rest.
After about two minutes, there was nothing but scrap power armor parts scattered everywhere and sinking into the bay. Jordan had used quite a bit of Essence fighting them, but it was worth it. He needed to get control of this situation before it got out of control. “Looks like I got to do everything myself now. Stupid children do not know their place. He casually dodged an attack from a long-range Power armor. His water globe pulsed then returned and fired back, taking a piece of power armor in the process. It spun and fell to the ground, but ten more were approaching him. “Are they really judging my strength with these things? It seems they are all in on this alliance. Ah, well, I will change that now.” He released the ball of water, and it exploded, injuring all of the power armors in some shape or form. Seeing that he didn’t kill any outright, he frowned. “Huh, sneaky gnomes.”
Jordan had the water under his heels spin him around. He solidified it for a second, and shot back to his island at break neck speed activating a movement Skill, he had gotten it to Expert, but rarely used the sub-Skill so it was still at Expert 0. He looked at his meditation house and frowned. The power draw to the Vault had increased suddenly. He didn’t know what that meant, but he wasn’t worried if he couldn’t open it, no one on this zone could.
“Why the concerned look pointy ears?” The annoying Mermaid queen smirked at him from her cage. She hadn’t talked in decades until a week ago, but now she wouldn’t shut up.
He ignored her and walked into his house, he stepped out twenty seconds later in full armor, and looked toward the shore line. The Power armors were still making their way to him. “I am going to wipe out your people today,” He said like he was commenting on the weather, “then I will come back and kill you so that you know on your last breath that you would be the last Mermaid ever. Know that you are the reason for the genocide of your people. Your mouth is the reason why I will enjoy it.” He smiled devilishly.
The queen’s smile changed to fear at his words.
“That's better. I prefer your mouth shut and your mind terrified.” With that, he put her out of his mind. He ran to the beach and ran across the water with ease and at a speed the Queen or the power armors couldn’t keep up with.
Twenty or so minutes later, he was already rounding the south bay of the island when he got a Prompt that made his blood boil.

< STRONGHOLD COMPROMISED >
{Your CAMP house is losing Essence at a very high rate because of another player
Time until full depletion and destruction of phylactery: 10M:21s}
_____________________________________________________________
“What?” He stopped and almost slipped into the water before he could control himself. He looked back in the direction he came and thought. ‘What is going on?’ He wasn't even halfway to the Mermaids, but he couldn't chance losing his home, Stronghold, either, particularly his house.

< QUEST FAILED >
{Quest Name: The Elven Vault II
Quest Type: Zone
Description: You have found a great power placed on this island to both suppress it and give the opener more power. Find a way to open it to get rewards.
Requirements: Open the vault(Failed)
Objective 1: Find the key to unlocking the vault. (Fail another did it.)
Penalty: -2000 from all stats except magic and -13,000 Pure Essence.
_____________________________________________________________
The Elf coughed up blood as he lost over 12,000 stats, but more importantly, almost all of his Essence; he needed that much to buy his first Copper Core; it took him over a thousand years to accumulate that amount in this barren suppression zone. He wiped his mouth and started to rush back to his island. This silly war could wait. He was going to kill who ever dare take from him, then he was going to kill them again.

IMPERIAL BAY
COLONEL
Colonel stared wide-eyed at the Mermaid queen swimming away from the island faster than should be possible for someone who had been imprisoned for the better half of millennia. The completion prompts were forcing their way to his HUD, so he just started to read them with a lot of excitement. But was still stucked to the Vault.

< QUEST COMPLETE >
{Quest Name: The Queen’s Vault II
Quest Type: Secret Chain
Description: When The Imperium came to Serenity for balance, the game gave the Mermaid Queen a Vault. Whoever opens this vault will be given great power to expel the enemy. Where they have failed, you have succeeded.
Requirements: Open the vault (Complete)
Objective 1: Use the key to unlock the vault. (Complete)
Rewards: +100,000,000 EXP, +1000 Pure Essence, +1000 Space Essence. Stronghold upgrade mark, the Vault’s contents.
_____________________________________________________________
“Oh yeah, I keep forgetting this is actually a Cultivator trial and not just a Dungeon or quest, this Game,” he sighed. “So there is Space Essence too.” Colonel hadn’t even mentioned the trial to anyone on the island because, until his recent meeting with the gnomes, no one had ever seen a cultivator. He was wondering how this was even a cultivator trial. Then he saw him. The way the elf smoothly controlled his element was so intimidating to Colonel that he just knew that he couldn’t beat him yet.
That didn’t mean he wasn’t going to try. He had one respawn to still get the 100% completion option, and he was already at the end, so he was going for it.
The pressure that was previously on him started to lighten. He shrugged, “Stronghold Upgrade mark? I wonder what that is?”

“Whattttttt? Oh, this is going to make my sergeant major very, very happy. Looks like a base building arch is to come in our story.” Any soldier knew that crossing a battlefield fast and closing with the enemy could do more to end a war quickly than bombing the enemy from afar. He didn’t know what the Stronghold skill points were, but he knew he was going to use them to help humanity thrive.
He went on to the next prompt.

He smiled, that felt good to Colonel, he could see the usefulness of using the both tomes on himself, or giving them away. He would have to check them out later. They were in his soul storage anyway, which he was going to have to organize when he got back. It was full of a ton of supplies, like three armies worth of stuff, and not just any armies, but massive armies of high-tier players. He checked out the next part in his chain quest.

“It doesn’t seem that hard, and I have a lot of time. I am definitely doing hidden objective 4 of the hidden objectives, ten times rewards. There is no way I can turn that down. Does that mean I get ten Art Tomes?”He actually didn’t know what an art tome was. He was sure Peck Joy might be able to explain.
Kekere toppled off of his shoulder, and he caught her; he had felt her on his shoulder but figured she was going through her prompts as well since they shared EXP, and he had gotten quite a bit.
After ensuring she was fine, she was just drained from the vault. Colonel’s pools refiled very fast so he didn't feel nearly as bad. Kekere, not so much. Poor thing had just fell asleep, he put her in his breast pocket. The pressure was almost completely gone at this point, and Keke was breathing much more normally with every new breath she took.
He kept going through the prompts.

_____________________________________________________________
Colonel wasn’t exactly sure how everything work out but he guessed that the vault over drew the power from the house, once it was opened all that excess power shot back through the house destroying it.
He had Art upgrade here, this must be the Cultivator rewards along with the Essence. He looked up to the sky, and it looked like someone had lit fire to different parts of a piece of paper, and they burned evenly across the sky, revealing the night skies beyond and what looked like a space battle happening.
Colonel didn’t have the brain power to process that, yet he kept going. The suppression must have been doing more than he thought originally. He went through the next link in the chain quest line.

That was the most information a temporary bonus had ever given him. He would have to ask Peck Joy what power cost were their for Dungeons in the first place.
Everything was giving him Essence, so he was happy about that. He had a feeling that he would need a lot. He didn’t know why he felt it, but he just knew it.

They must have put all of the Mermaids on his objective, that was the only thing he could think of to get that number, but he also didn’t think that could be right. He couldn’t see where the mermaids had that many players in their population. “The gnomes maybe.” Again he shrugged at the passing curiosity.
An annoying prompt followed.

_____________________________________________________________
The vein at the top of his head started to throb. This quest always reminded him of that dragon and the massive space battle between the Dark elf, Titan and the planets. Colonel slowly looked back up to the sky again. The burning was mostly gone, and the night sky was lit up with a kaleidoscope colors flying back an forth.
“Oh no.” Colonel said not liking where this was going at all.
He shook his head and focused on the next prompt. His Cultivation trial was technically over.

A new time stamp opened in Colonel’s HUD surprising him the prompt that came afterwards was what he was afraid of when he looked up.

< GLOBAL EVENT >
{The RUNIC Protection period has ended. This is the final phase of your planets tutorial before either going forward or being sucked dried for a few million years, and then reseted. This phase has two periods; The sky/heavenly realm battle period, and the mortal realm battle period. The invaders must win both phases in order to win the phase, which means defense is key. The sky realm period had no restrictions on tier of the attacking players, the mortal realm on the other hand is limited to one LAW per basic element for invaders. The GREAT GAME hopes you are ready for the next part of your gaming experience.

_____________________________________________________________
“Whoa! Magic has been on this planet for over three hundred thousand year. Good lord have mercy.” Colonel said out loud as he got another Global Prompt. “Did the suppression prevent Global prompts?” He wondered out loud looking up.
_____________________________________________________________
< GLOBAL EVENT >
{A plague has hit the planet that has corrupted the Mana of the Celestial Body. While she has been fighting it off, she has had little control over her surface, and no way to communicate with her gods, because of that a Legendary demon race of monsters have razed all but two major sapient cities and above nations. Then the demons created demonic lands on top of the bodies of the dead nations. These Demons will give the land of the Mortal realm to the invaders if they control over 50% of the Mortal realm when the next phase begins after winning the Sky realm battle. The demons race has control of 90% of the mortal realm, take it back at all cost for if you don’t you are doom to lose the Mortal realm Battle before it has even started.
Live Well or Die Free.}
_____________________________________________________________
“I guess it did. Ninety percent of the mortal realm of a planet that had been growing for over three hundred thousandyears must be a massive amount of territory. But that proved my theory that the suppression had blocked the global prompts. How else would an entire race take over most of the planet without anyone getting these prompts before.” Colonel mused.

“The gods failed? Is that why Space Wrath wanted me to give them a kick in the butt on Gaia? Would our gods as they currently are lose to invaders so easily? Well to be fair, I don’t know ho-” Colonel’s eyes widen and he pat his breast pocket.
“Human! What have you done?!” The Elven progenitor yelled from behind Colonel. The elf’s face was full of rage and confusion with a bit of fear.
“Colonel turned around slowly with his hands up in a surrender pose.” The narrator began. “He had barely felt it when this monster in elf skin got into his Presence and Legacy perception range. Even then he couldn’t even react until the elf spoke, since his brain was still registering the share power of the man, but Colonel couldn’t help himself. He was still competitive as hell, even if he didn’t show it outwardly. Colonel Clyde Jacob was the youngest of four, and while his older siblings may have done more to advance humanity as a whole than he did, if you were to ask them, they would all say Colonel was the main reason why they could thrive in a world full of monsters.”
The elf cocked his head to the side looking at Colonel standing there with his hands up. “A narrator, no wonder you could open the vault,” He sighed, “You people are just cheat players of the GREAT GAME. Like my father.”
“What do you mean you people?” The narrator said to just Colonel almost causing him to burst out laughing, but he had to much time on his teleport timer to do anything to get himself killed. He needed to stall. If he had ever complained about the narrator before, he most certainly wouldn’t after today. He needed distraction, his narrator gave him a masterful one.
“Sapient entities will always need creators, scientist, engineers, and doctors, but Colonel and his twin brother were warriors, and warriors were the protectors of the creators, scientist, engineers, and doctors.” The narrator continued causing the elf’s ears to twitch show great interest in the narrator’s words. “Warriors were often misunderstood, but ultimately were needed, not more important than those professions, but more needed than creators, scientist, engineers, and doctors.
“Colonel became a warrior for one reason and one reason only; To lead.” The elf looked at the human in front of him with disdain.
“And over the last three decades, he was the finest leader the world had ever produced. The undisputed champion of his sport, the GOAT as the kids would say, the greatest of all time, and his sport was the oldest sport of all sapient civilizations learn; War. He had never lost a battle, not even a skirmish, in practice, in the field, or down range. He had never even came close, he was an unstoppable force on offense, and an immovable object on defense. With that kind of resume, it was impossible for a mortal to stay humble, but Colonel was not your average mortal.”
“I won!” Colonel finally answered the initial question just as he checked the count down to his teleport hitting 10 seconds.
“Okay maybe not that humble.” The narrator said to just Colonel.
“The elf’s look confusion quickly morphed into one of understanding, too quickly.”
“See ya, wouldn’t want to be y-”
“A blue energy covered fist punched right through Colonel’s chest cutting off his words.
“Colonel’s entire back exploded out as catastrophic damage was done to... pretty much everything from the neck to the thighs.” The narrator said rapidly. “Progenitor Jordan used a movement Art covering his arm in water Essence to pierced through the War-titan’s chest right at the heart. It must be said that this punch was a resounding success. Colonel cough up blood, despite not having lungs, or a stomach oresophagus for that matter.”
“You aren’t going anywhere, you worthless piece of...”
“He notice a smile of the legacy’s face.”
“What are you smiling about? You don’t think I couldn’t fix this? Power trumps everything you fool. Once I kill you I’ll even have your narrator. It must be-”
“No.”
“Colonel rasped out. The elf’s look of shock was evident, wondering how does a bodiless head speak?”
“No you can’t fix it, you’re about to be dead. Rebound.”
“Colonel placed his hand on the surprised cultivator’s neck. The whole week of planning this vault heist wasn’t just sitting around and drinking meed and eating sandwiches. Though they did do their fair share of that. But Colonel had used most of that time to accumulate damage from as many sources as possible without dying. He was always keeping that in his back pocket. His legendary legacy shirt bonus could rebound any damage he had taken, and there hadn’t seemed to be a time limit, and or damage threshold that he could see to use it, so he took advantage.
“But as his hand grabbed the neck of the Elven progenitor Colonel also realized he had another shield he didn’t remember even getting, until he took fatal damage from the Peak Iron Cultivator, his first Essence user.”

“You have an Art? How the fu-”
“A flash of light teleported Colonel away leaving the elven Cultivator standing still with his water essence covered hand outstretched where Colonel’s body used to be. The technique petered out as the elf’s hand fell to his side. Kekere alighted on the elf’s headless shoulder, and pecked at the meat inside the neck when a geyser of blood sprayed up bathing the baby rukh feathers in crimson. The body fell forward on the sand, and Keke rode it down like a cowgirl on a bucking bronco.
“Covered in red elf blood of a peak Iron rank cultivator, Keke began to feast on him happy the narrator had spoken loud enough to alert her after Colonel had woke her up.” The Narrator finished.
The bird nodded while eating happily from the pooling blood of the Elf.
Twenty Mermaid warriors had been standing at the shore line watching the entire exchange, and their wide mouth looks was only interrupted by the sound of one them throwing up on another.
“Are you serious Carl?
“Not again Carl.
“What the hell Carl?!” The squad leader said to the mermaid, shaking his head. “At least the Progenitor didn’t see you embarrass yourself.”
“What about his bird?” One of them walk over to Keke enjoying her meal.
“She is really pretty- what the fu-” Keke launched at the mermaid so fast she couldn’t get out of the way from the pecks of the baby rukh. “Ouch what was that for?” The mermaid said as the bird flew back to her kill satisfied with the punishment she had given out.
“I don’t think she likes to be called pretty.” The team leader
“Ahh...is someone going to go after the queen?” Carl said standing up holding his stomach and avoiding the headless corpse, by looking out to where the formerly imprisoned queen ran and swam off to.
“Shut up Carl.” The whole squad said.
