WANCHI

COLONEL

The Colonel ignored the powers being thrown around as the Army chased after the Seven Councilors. He was pretty sure it was hilarious, but he was about to Tier up, and he didn’t want to be distracted by the outside world. He had looked at the options, and went through the process talking to himself. First, he pumped the 2,700,000EXP into leveling up his class to 29.

“No.” The jump in EXP from 29 to 30 was more than what it cost for him to get from 20 to 29. He went through the process of maxing out his Spec for maximum benefits. That cost just as much, 2,560,000, over double the last Spec max upgrade. He didn’t look forward to maxing out his following Spec. All in all, he had spent over five million EXP just to get the option to specialize a third time.

“Hey, Peck Joy, can you advise me real quick?” Clyde asked the Cleric.

“Of course, my Progenitor.”

“Just Colonel, if you don’t mind, can you do that sound thingy, please.”

Peck Joy’s eyebrow twitched a little. He had a high platinum sound shielding device made by the Imperium, and his Progenitor just called it a thingy. He was internally smiling at the changes the man would bring to his island, but at the same time, centuries of traditions and habits were challenging to break.

He activated the sound shield and sat in front of the Colonel. “How may I be of service to you, Colonel sir?” He asked after getting comfortable.

Colonel read over his Specialization prompt.

< SPECIALIZATION MAXED >

{For reaching level 10 in your Spec +20 skill points & +20 to all attributes expect magic.}

_____________________________________________________________

“Well, I just maxed out my Spec and was about to check out my specialization table.”

“I can’t identify you. What is your base class? And what Specialization tier are you? You feel around level 20-30, but your Presence is harder to read, to be honest. Plus, I don’t trust my senses with you whatsoever.”

“I am a warlord,” The Colonel said without answering the first question. After dealing with the attack from the other Legacies before, he was just going to leave that subject alone for now. He had some questions for Adia and Bour when he got back. He had almost forgotten about them with every thing that was going on.

“What? That is impossible,” Peck Joy asked, his professional demeanor gone. “What are you, Colonel? Are all humans this exceptional?”

“I have always been exceptional among my peers, but I believe every human has the potential to be great at anything they put their ten thousand hours into,” Colonel said matter-of-factly. He wasn’t a humble man, but he wasn’t a bragger either.

“I believe you. A Warlord is a Tier 6 upgrade to War Knight True Class. There are only limited slots for Warlords in the mortal realm of Celestial bodies. It is why most War Knights become Inquisitors, Sentinels or Paladins at 70. Once all the Warlord Slots are taken, the True Class is closed to any other player until one dies or ascends. They are the rarest of all True class upgrades, and you have it at what level...”

“29.”

“Oh, you are fine; the level 30 spec is just a straight upgrade to your Previous Spec.”

“Is it always so expensive to level up your Spec?” Colonel asked.

“Yes, most Classers don’t max it out, only level it up to where they can Tier up. That number varies depending on the Tier of Spec and Class. Usually, it is the Tier you are trying to reach. For example, if you are Specializing to Tier 3, you would have to level up your Spec to at least Level 3.”

“Wait, that is an option?”

“Of course it is. If everyone had to max out their Spec, no one would have made it to level 70 in one lifetime without doing some pretty amazing feats.” He paused and eyed him for a second before continuing. “It only keeps getting more and more expensive. Class Quests will allow you to bypass a lot of the prerequisites for tiering up as well sometimes, there is more than one way to advance in the GREAT GAME.”

“Ah well, I have the EXP anyway.”

“I would imagine so since you killed two armies and an Ancient tier Wyvern. Check out your options. There should be a max of two if you already have a True Class in this Specialization. It’s the first bridge Tier, so it would usually try to put you on two or three paths, but getting a True Class as a Spec early, while not unheard of, it is incredibly rare and life-changing,” Peck Joy said a little excited.

The Legacy brought up his HUD.

“Yeah, I have two options,” He said after reading the prompt. There wasn’t much to it. He was a little disappointed, expecting more.

“That is great. The Veteran option means you are well trained and have good instincts for your True Class, but the Advance means you were born for the role and can forge your own path.” Peck Joy sat in front of him smiling, “You are fascinating, Colonel.”

“Settle down their homie.” He said, smiling at the Mermaid’s enthusiasm. “I actually had those options last Tier.”

Peck Joy stared at him. “Are you saying you have the Elite or Upper-class option? Right now? At level 29?” His mind racing at the revelation.

The Colonel nodded. ”Yes, and no pluses. I am so accustomed to getting them.”

“No plus on Elite, First Class Option that is are second or third bridge Tier option Colonel it is above the Cap for our island for certain Tiers of True Classes. Level 70 is Tier 6. Most of our peak Classers are either Elite or Upper Class in lesser classes. The Councilors have higher rank True Classes, but even they could only get the Veteran or Advance option. But even they didn’t max out their Specs at every level. If I were you I would keep doing that, maxing you spec out I mean, that way the rank of your True Class will be upgraded.”

“What is the general difference? Between Elite and Upper Class.”

“Elite is usually the singular path while Upper class is the leadership path. This is when you choose if you are a leader or a follower. The Game needs both and rewards you accordingly.”

“Alight, so I should be looking into Upper class then,” Colonel asked.

“Not necessarily. The Game gave you the option, so that means that you may be able to excel with them both. Besides, Warlord is already a leadership True Class anyway. Having some individual power is always better in case of the unknown.”

Colonel looked at descriptions.

LEVELING COST: x4 30-31=372,000EXP

Prime Legacies are unique in that they can gain access to higher-tier Specs without penalty. The Elite Prefix is being awarded because of the actions you have taken on the battlefield. Elite Warlords are large-scale battle specialists. There can only be 3 Elite Warlords at a time, and they can offer Warlord Job to 3 other players.

Elite Bonus: All Halo Effect now adds a DOT to hostiles.

Elite Warlord adds: +16 to all except Magic, +16 Free.

Choose 1 Spell

1. Freezing Halo(Toggled): The Elite Warlord can toggle on a freezing halo around himself and his allies, which has a Major chance to cause frostbite, a Minor chance to cause Brittle, and a Slight chance to cause Shatter. Frostbite enemies are slowed for a short time. The longer they stay in the Halo, the more it stacks. Brittle enemies affected in the Halo take +10%+T (where T is Tier) more damage from the Warlord and allies, Shattered Enemies take 30%+T more damage as critical damage.

Halo range: 300 meters radius from Elite Warlord. Cast time: 10 seconds. Cost: 20 Mana per second. Duration: until out of Mana or toggled off. Cool down: 30 minutes. Requirements: Chant, be part of a team or party with at least one other member within range.

2. Retreating Halo(Triggered/Toggled): An Elite warlord knows that sometimes living to fight another day is often the best decision in a battle. Any time an enemy of overwhelming power enters the combat range of the Elite Warlord, his War party gains +15%HP, +15%DR, and +15 Dexterity for every member lower than the average level of the enemy war party, in addition, any allies killed in the Halo increases the Dexterity bonus by 3%.

Halo range: 1500 meters radius from Elite Warlord. Cast time: 5 seconds. Cost: 15 mana per second -1 for every 10 allies killed. Duration: until out of mama or toggled off. Cool down: 2 days. Requirements: Chant, be part of a team or party with at least one other member within range.

_____________________________________________________________

The two choices weren’t that much different. Even the spells were all similar. They both had two spells from his last specialization: Reign of Fire and Retreating Halo.

He wasn’t stupid enough to think he wouldn’t have to retreat sometimes. He just didn’t want to waste his spell choice on something like it.

Reign of Fire was just his bombardment spell without the need for a weapon. He had a few Halos already, and toggling them on caused his MP to plummet. In a large-scale battle, he would be getting Mana back with kills and bonuses, but it was still an astronomical number.

Colonel looked at his MP and regen and did quick math.

_____________________________________________________________

POOLS:

HP 37,010/37,010 regen 6892HP per day

MP 1720/1720 regen 6650MP per hour

DR: 300/300 regen 3 per second

SP: 25340/25340 regen 2534 per second(LOCKED)

GP: 2002 generation 2534 per day(LOCKED)

_____________________________________________________________

He regenerated over 110 MP per minute, and his Halos currently took up about 15MP a second, give or take. He was in much better shape than he thought; he wasn’t exactly able to leave them on all battle yet; in less than three minutes, he would be bone dry, but it also meant that his Mana would refill in under three minutes, and that is not taking into consideration. ‘Got to love math, no matter how basic.’

Now that he felt like he could take a Halo, the Warlord looked over the single difference between the Spell options of the Specs. Freezing Halo and Light Mana trap. Both of these helped control the battlefield but in markedly different ways.

Freezing Halo was like his Slow Halo but added more damage to the enemy for him and his allies. Stacking to slowing effects should make for a powerful combination, not to even mention the extra effects.

Light trap Halo was a powerful combat support spell. The enemy attacks creating more mines just sounded crazy cool when he thought about it.

“Do I not get a tier 2 spell?” He asked Peck Joy.

“No, at level 30 is only a bridge tier. The same happens at levels 60 and 80 if you ever get there.” Peck Joy answered. He was still excited to see what Colonel would get as he continued to level and surprise everyone.

“Okay, so I will get one of the other spells at Level 40?” Colonel asked.

“You actually get to pick, and it will also help determine your TRUE CLASS at Tier 5.”

“I thought I already have a true class?” Colonel asked, a little confused.

“You have a True Class as a Spec that is really rare but not unheard of, especially for players with Platinum or above base classes or first Spec. Most players that do that end up with an even more powerful or advanced True Class. Their -Will- is always out of the world high as well. Which allows them to purchase higher tier Perks from your Talent store.”

“Okay, so my Spell choice gives me different options at the next tier?” Colonel asked. “I am not going to even ask about the Talent Store.”

“Yes, everything you do in the GREAT GAME determines your next Class upgrade as a Classer. The path to a True Class, especially rare ones, are guarded secrets of families and factions. Each Path has its own Perk Store at Tier 5, which is why Tier 5 is widely considered the true beginning of the GREAT GAME for most. Though most never make it to this Tier, and if they do, they are much older and humbler.”

“So if someone followed my path they could end up with my same class and specs?

“Yes, but depending on titles and enemies fought, there will be variations. Often subordinate players get a lesser version of the True Class, but even Lesser versions are better than generic True classes.”

“That is good to know.” Colonel looked back at his HUD, thinking. “So I get to choose one of the others at the next specialization dope.”

Both unique spells were expensive. 20 MP per second stacked with his other Halos, which meant he would be out of Mana in eight seconds, but the damage he could do in that time would be enormous. Colonel smiled. He had so many ways to get HP, MP, and DR back with all of his bonuses. He felt like he should never run out of MP, but it was good to know one’s minimum limit.

He made his choice.

He barely felt the stat increases while they were in the hundreds with all of his bonuses. It was just a drop in a bucket for him. His lowest stats were already above the second major threshold by a lot. But every little bit helped in the long run.

The Spell choice was much easier.

“Looks like I got more than enough EXP to go to level 40 now.” He looked at the Army throwing ground-shaking attacks at the seven Councilors in the distance. “I got some time on my hands.” He cheerfully said. He absently wondered if this was the callousness of power. But then he remembered these assholes were going to try and kill him a few minutes ago, so fuck em.

Colonel wasn’t one to dwell long. He had plans, and power seemed like the best way to execute said plans.
