The fragile Saint
For all those that think I am dead (not a chapter):

For all those that think I am dead (not a chapter):

Basically, I just want to point out that I am thinking about the next chapter, but am not satisfied by my last three tries.

Also, I had several ideas about other stories, and recently more and more about romance.

Since I want the opinion of other people about my works I'm going to post the single chapter of a new story and want you to comment on it, telling me what I can do better and so on. (That other story won't be continued because I just wrote it on a whim. If you really want that I continue that story, I'd need quite some people tell me that.)

Keep in mind that the advice you give will apply to my writing in general, and thus will also improve the quality of this story!

Small descriptions to the spells used are at the bottom of the text.

000 - Confession #3

“P- Please go out with me.”

Stuttered a cute tomboy, confessing her feelings towards me behind the school building.

“No, I’ve had enough.”

That was all I could say to that person, as I truly had been disappointed in the truthfulness of such declarations.

“Wha- Why?”

Tears formed in her eyes, and threatened to spill onto her tanned cheeks.

“The first person that said that to me dumped me a day later, telling all her acquaintances that I had asked her for sex.

In reality she just found out I wasn’t a high-ranking noble.”

“Y-yes, I’ve heard her tell that…”

“And the other time I had accepted that proposal and went on the first date, it was just to push me in a corner and beat up because she and her friends had believed my first’s story.”

“Ah..”

“So, just go away and tell everyone of your friends that they don’t even have to go try anymore, they’ve already destroyed any kind of relationship I could have in this school.

Just leave me alone.”

With those words I left that person alone, tears spilling from her eyes.

Women were truly good liars, to be able to fake even that.

---

“Haaa…”

Sighing I made my way back towards the back of that building the day after that third confession. They really just couldn’t leave me alone.

Still, to go that far to not even write a name, greeting or anything else, just telling me to be there at a certain time was quite disrespecting.

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

Arriving back there, I was greeted by a surprise: several girls holding the tomboy that had confessed to me the day before hostage, and all of them (besides the tomboy) with vicious grins on their faces.

“So, so. Who have we here, our great offender Wynn, who had sent this poor naive girl to question us of our motives.

How could you do that, such a detestable thing?

Well, it doesn’t matter. If you don’t want this friend of yours here scarred for life, you’ll have to let us beat you up again.

Hehehehe..”

“Are you done?”

“What?”

Record, Frost Floor, Frozen Feet, Hail

After a few seconds everyone but that tomboy, who I had specifically exempted from my spells, were down on the floor, groaning in pain because of the many icicles that were still impacting their dirtied uniforms.

“Well, that little plan of yours didn’t work out too well, did it? Anyway, thank you for the chance to beat you up without getting punished. I’ve got a very convincing picture of you threatening two other students after all.”

Waiving my staff as goodbye I started heading off, but was stopped by a nervous voice.

“Wait!”

It was the tomboy that could not get out because of the ice that was falling all around her.

“What? Be happy that I don’t beat you up too. A hostage hurt by me would make everything seem very unbelievable after all.”

“No! You misunderstand!”

“Sure, try to go on with your charade while you can, miss number three. I’ll see you when you troupe try to beat me up next time.”

---

Things got a little bit messy after that, as I had to explain what had happened, but with my Record of the situation nobody could doubt me.

Especially so since that tomboy continued their lie about her trying to be friendly to me.

I’m sure that is going to be very annoying in the future.

Still, time does not stop, and people continued avoiding me in fear of catching the attention of the girl clique that would undoubtedly harass them as much as they tried to harass me.

Having a habit of always closing my door with several seals, taking everything with me and doing everything myself made my maid redundant, but effectively prevented them from doing anything to me.

It also came with the upside that I didn’t eat what the school cooks made.

While these meals always were delicious, they also were as unhealthy, unbalanced and annoying to eat as possible.

That allowed me to keep a slim bodyline, and hid my obvious lack of table manners, as I came from a commoner’s family that gained nobility through an ancestor that did good to the country as a mage. That same person also made the contract so that one person of our household could attend the most prestigious magic academy in the country at any time.

My train of thought was interrupted by the door of the library opening.

Wondering who it was, I lifted myself from the chair to observe the newcomer. The library was not well-visited, as nobles mostly came here to get to know each other, not to study, but that was just right for me.

One did not even have to attend the classes, the teachers wouldn’t be able to stop them from not coming anyway.

Still, some of the teachers, knowing I seriously studied, sent me one of their few attending students with some worksheets they had compiled.

Not that they ever made their way to me in one piece.

This time though, that brown-haired tomboy that just came in brought undamaged looking sheets.

“Hello…? The teacher said I should bring you these.”

“Just put them on the reception, I’ll get them later.”

“Huh!? Where are you?”

Her surprise was justified, as I had formed a wall of miniature ice mirrors that would distort the light so that I couldn’t be seen while behind it, and their presence somewhat dampened and spreaded the sound of my voice.

But since she actually brought something undamaged to me, I walked through that illusion to return the favor.

I wasn’t trusting her, but I’ll always act to individuals like they act towards me.

“Kyaaa! How, where did you come from?”

“From back there, I was sitting in that chair.”

“No way, and I thought you could teleport or make yourself invisible!”

“Don’t be ridiculous, those need far too much mana, and invisibility is even forbidden.”

“...Oh?”

“So, you need anything else?”

“W- well….”

“Again with the ‘I’m not with them, please trust me’?”

“...no. I now know that won’t work. Rather than that, please let me be your friend!”

“No.”

Since she lowered her head in frustration after my decisive answer, and her sad face looked quite cute, I just started to randomly pat her head, causing her to blush heavily.

“Wh- What are you doing!!!”

“I’m patting your head.”

“Y- I know that!”

“If what you said back then is true, and you want to go out with me, you should be able to enjoy it, and if you lied back then, well, then you hate it but can’t refuse since you act like you want to be with me.

There is no way for you to refuse.”

Contempt with my randomly come-up excuse, I continued patting her beet-red head until I grew bored of caressing her silky hair.

Then I just went back to reading, leaving her completely stunned until she slowly walked away minutes later.
