022 - Revival!....again
I woke up on a bland stone pedestal, surrounded by strange magical machines with purple glowing signs all over them, only at my feet there was only a plate tilted in a way so that I couldn’t see whats on it.
I was only covered by my stained middle-aged bottom underwear and a black and thin but smooth blanket, so when I sat up to look around I naturally wrapped myself in the cloth to cover my body.
On a table at a wall I noticed my clothes, which were obviously ruined, so I ignored them.
Walking through the door I found myself in a corridor similar to the first floor, but only with few doors spread inbetween instead of every few meters one.
Curiously I peeked into the first room, which was full of ridiculously styled weapons one could only describe as deadly cosplay material, but were obviously to heavy and impractical for normal fights. The door opposite to that one held the forge and the materials the pieces of art in the other room had most likely been made it and from.
The next door piqued my interest far more, as I had found dresses and suits for people of all ages and genders, even some clothing for lamias(Snake-People) and arachne(Spider-People) were prepared in that room.
I quickly found myself an amazing black dress with purple frills and sparkling gems placed decoratively to give the fabric a certain uniqueness, and put it on behind a giant-sized mannequin.
Looking in a nearby mirror I admired myself for a bit, before noticing how uncomfortable the old underwear underneath my newly ‘acquired’ dress was.
Suspecting a setup similar to the armory and forge I opened the room opposite to the on I was in and found myself in a fully equipped sewery.
After a few hours I finally managed to complete modern panties with a quality that left me satisfied, and were worlds better than the underwear I had on before. Refusing to let go of this chance I spent around a day to make some more underwear for me, complete with a not quite as beautiful bag I where I stored a spare dress from the other room in.
The amounts of waste and failures I had produced were just left in a corner of the room, me reminding myself to not forget to ask about how to handle these leftovers.
The next rooms were thankfully made for shoes, as my feet were half-frozen by the stone floor I had spent so much time standing on while making my panties.
I grabbed myself some high boots and a spare pair which only reached up to my ankles, both in the typical black with purple decorations.
The next room was filled with make-up, while the opposite one held some brushes and oils for the hair.
I didn’t need any of those, and I was glad I didn’t need to spend so much time cleaning and combing my hair, or putting on make-up.
The rooms after that were unexpectedly empty, besides some more storage rooms for which I ‘borrowed’ some gems, so I quickly reached the end of the corridor.
Before going upwards though I went back, as I had remembered a bad memory, and looked for a weapon I could easily use between all the extravagant and heavy weapons.
After strolling through rows of weapons, i noticed the white handle of a dagger sticking out from a barrel at the corner of the room.
After making my way over I drew out the exquisite weapon.
While being of a size that could substitute a small sword for me, the leather-covered handle that ended in a white oval gem at the one end and a double edged silvery blade that slightly broadened before it converged, forming an overall out of the place weapon for this dark-themed smithy.
Not minding the small cut i somehow got I placed the blade hidden beneath the frills of my dress, held by a piece of cloth that was surprisingly already installed into this masterwork.
Being finished with that level I slowly made my way upwards, and soon reaching a dark door, even darker than normal doors around, held shut by many locks and metal bars.
Maybe it wouldn't be such a good idea to try to enter a room where somebody DEFENITELY didn’t want the contained things out.
Continuing my way I quickly became bored by the neverending staircase, but since I didn’t get tired due to my regeneration I continued on my way.
Finally I heared some voices and I accelerated, running upwards and entering through the next door which was already open.
Stumbling on the soft floor I had already stood on I took in the situation:
The purple giant, with tears dripping off her cheeks, had already sent Niishan into a nearby curtain, and was currently defending against the arrows shot by Rodrick.
Laerissa was circling behind the purple mass, shield held high, and Shelica was moving behind her, already a bit exhausted and probably the cause of the frost on the giants arms and its surrounding.
If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.
Not wanting to break the tense atmosphere and distract the fighting ones, I quietly made my way towards Niishan. Just a small “Shhhhh” with a finger on my lips was enough to silence the entwined Beast-Man and, using my newly acquired knife I quickly cut him free from the curtain that had been restraining him.
Well, I still was unsuccessful with staying undetected, as the big giant caught a glimpse of my shining hair. Completely disregarding the attacking Lae she rushed towards me, stretching her arms towards me and trying to pic..
“Stop!” The purple mass staggered and fell on her knees.
“The last time hurt enough, I don’t want to repeat that, you know?”
“But… How? How are you alive??? I thought I killed you?” Tears were streaming down her cheeks while she said those lines.
Ignoring the crying monster in front of me Lae also had charged towards me and kneed before me, but was actually of the proper height to take my cheeks into her hands that dropped her weapons beside me.
“We were worried, you know. To go away like that! What did you think!” Lae called, while Shaelica too made her way over and embraced me from behind. (NO, not like that you perverts! XD)
It was a mess, so I quietly waited until everybody had calmed down enough to talk, which irritated them as they wanted to hear what had happened as fast as possible.
Finally, after telling them of my short adventure, kindly omitting the few gems I took, they started to tell what they had to go through to to reach me:
When they had arrived at the town, they were greeted by a disordered town, with everybody wildly speculating who the beautiful weeping girl was that apparently sought death in the depths of the dungeon.
Panicking, because of the rumors, the group had quickly made their way downwards, encountering a surprisingly weak hostile force of kobolds and undead.
They still needed SOME time, and so we rejoined each other when they were fighting the 'last boss' of the dungeon.
They also told me that there had been a reason why Rodrick reacted so strongly to me freeing myself, and promised to tell me the story soon.
After that explanation they obviously wanted to leave this dungeon and resume our journey, but the purple giant had awoken my curiosity with its strange behavior, and I decided to listen to her, why she was how she was.
The story she told was shocking. She once was a normal human farmer girl, living her life peacefully in her remote village, until she one day prayed to a god. She didn’t even remember any more which god it had been, but this god had taken a liking to her and granted her a blessing… at first.
The supernatural being then started to demand things from the poor farmer girl, and when she could finally not comply with the requests that became stranger and stranger every time, the god teleported her down into this place, supplied her with many materials and cursed her, forming her current appearance and making her unable to control herself. At first the girl had been delighted, as the god promised to never show up again, but then the first adventurer came and met her.
She could not control her excitement, finally meeting one of the most prominent dungeon divers of the world, and accidentally slaughtered his whole party.
This had repeated itself for centuries, and she, after praying once more, mas confronted with the truth:
The god had purposefully made her into such a monster!
The higher being openly told her she was just a toy to pass the time, and that he would not free her from this endless misery.
So she trained herself in smithing, finally creating the door that had sealed her chambers….until now.
Then she begged us to kill her, ending her pitiful existence, but I proposed a different course of action.
She should train herself. Trying to talk to the kobolds, interacting with them and then slowly accustoming herself to being around others.
The others stared at me, thinking me mad as I believed the monsters known as kobolds to be intelligent enough of speech, but the purple giant thanked me and immediately took off into the upper levels of the dungeon.
Our group soon followed, easily reaching the surface and finding ourselves an inn for the night.
