027 - evaluation process
After a few days of relaxing, finally the day the new students were let into the school arrived.
I was very nervous, as I always was at such events, but I obviously didn’t need to be.
The first day was just arriving, getting your room and roommates, and getting showed the school perimeter.
Due to me being a scholarship student I got a sole room only for me, with a servants quarters directly next to it, which both was very nice and reminded me to get myself a servant, and was led around by one of the student council, which surprised me heavily.
Asking the council enforcement girl how many people had gotten a scholarship, I was informed that besides me there were only three people with scholarships. Apparently, to get a scholarship, one had to be excellent and outstanding in any aspect of the admittance test.
….and I felt it was too easy.
The ‘room’ i got was quite big, with one master bedroom, a living room and a bath, with servants quarters that had a kitchen installed next to it connected to the living room by a door.
I really didn’t have that much, so before going to bed that evening I just put down the excess writing utensils on the desk in the living room and the school uniforms with the noble dresses in the dresser in the bedroom. The rest I left in the spacial bag for safety reasons, if somebody were to break into my rooms.
The next day all the new students arrived at the school hall, where the director, a dumb looking ogre in military uniform, held a booring speech about how we were the best and would become even better in this o glorious school he was the master of.
The only reason I didn’t sleep was because we had to stand.
Afterwards we had tests to determine our class. They obviously wouldn’t put the geniuses in the same class as the strugglers, or at least they held it that way for theoretical classes and we would have different class compositions for wither magic or fighting classes, depending on our main fighting style. (ice-mages with ice-mages and so on; one could also choose both magic and close combat).
Needless to say, I breezed through most of the tests because of my extensive reading and the knowledge that was held by the halo, but foreign languages was something I failed hard, as all my knowledge was from ages ago, and as such had changed quite a bit.
The magic test was a bit problematic. The students, either before or after the theoretical test, had to perform the strongest spell they could in a closed space, and, if it the spell needed special circumstances, they had to use basic moves several times. The other students could watch.
Instead of waiting in the line, I walked up to the main supervisor and asked him if I could hold this test hidden away from the other students, as I was sure they would make a fuss because of what I would do.
Noticing that I was one of the scholarship students, he reluctantly agreed, with the condition that if it wasn’t worth it, he would remove some of my privileges.
I couldn’t lose.
In one of the adjacent rooms I made him sit on the couch, and told him I would need to get close to him in order for this to work. Probably thinking I was a succubus, as these were one of the few demons who could have blonde hair, he reddened, but let me do my thing.

Then he stared at my smiling face unbelievingly, not trusting his own body’s feeling what I had done to him: using my extraordinary sharp knife I had picked up back at the purple giant’s dungeon, I mercilessly stabbed him in the heart.
For thing I would want to show, you must die, you know?
Resurrecting him afterwards was easy, as this was one of the few things I had extensively trained during my journey, even if my repeated killing of a white fluffy rabbit had disturbed my travel companions somewhat.
Hey, don’t look at me like that! The critter had evolved because of me, and I even got an achievement from the system that I had created the first ‘Living Undead Bunny’.
The examiner was badly confused by my demonstration, so I repeated it several times, while sometimes explaining a bit inbetween, and after the 6th time he finally understood that the blood all over the floor was not an illusion.
I then quickly cast a ‘Cleanse’ on the room before I left, another one of the spells I trained during my journey, after I had discovered the many bugs and diseases crawling about in one of the visited inns’ beds.
CleanseA stronger version of ‘Clean’.
Removes dirt, diseases, bugs, demonic corruption, and refreshes people it was used on.Necessary Affinities: Arcane(duh); Holy(Life + Light)
The other teachers that were supervising the tests were curious about what happened inside, but as I didn’t answer any of their questions, they had to wait for the one that had tested me. I waited too, curious of what he would say.
Finally, after he walked out of the room, he said in an still unbelieving voice: “I was so surprised by what she had done, I could have died. She gets either into the best class or is allowed to self-study, I don’t know yet.”
Still a bit shaking, he sat back down on his chair and continued his work.
I took out one of my books I had stored inside my spacial bag and started to read on one of the couches along the wall, sometimes glancing at the other childrens’ magic to determine how weak they were.
The best one I saw was probably the child of a merchant, a cute girl with expensive clothes, but without a family crest. She cast a tidal wave from nothing, showing off how big her mana pool was, as creating water from thin air needed enormous amounts of that.
If I were to have even one percent of water affinity, I could flood the whole solar system, but nobody was talking about that.
The next day we would have free, to get the things we had forgotten and to let the teachers, administrators and secretaries have enough time to sort us into classes.
I already had a plan for what to get myself that day, but that didn’t hold me off from reading through the night, lazily lying in the bed and enjoying the stillness.
