The building of the guild was an imposing 3-storied building with integrated bar and restaurant, and several stores offering weapon and armors and repairs for those were all around the square in front of the guild.

Following the group into the building there was a surprising high amount of female fighters and mages around, I estimated a male-female ratio of 60:40.

Lae then led me to a counter with a average-looking girl in a plain maid-like uniform, while the others went to the restaurant-part of the building and reserved a table for us.

The girl asked us in a professionally polite, but a bit bored tone: “Welcome to the guild. What services would you like to use?”

“I would want this little one here to get a guild card, and then she wanted to employ my group for an escort mission.” Lae answered for me. We had already talked a bit about how we would want to do this on the way here, so she knew I wasn’t a guild member yet.

“That would be one silver for the registration please.”

I handed over the coin and then filled out the sheet that was handed to me. The card I then got back looked a bit like this:

“Oh, so you are a healer?” Lae was a bit surprised. Do I really look that useless?

“I’m not that good yet.” I dodged that question. I really wouldn’t want to try that out on them, I probably would cause them to die because of aging or something if i would cast regenerate…..

I would need to find some animals to try that out soon, otherwise I would really be useless.

Anyway, after the registration I had to fill out a request form with details about what I would want. For the reward I would then get a recommendation from the guild, but I could still give any amount of money I would want.

The paper I handed back to the assistant girl was received with raised eyebrows.

I nodded at the assistant who looked at me as if asking if that was ok.

“Then, please give me the reward money, as well as the 30 silver fee for the request.” Then, asking Lae: “Do you immediately want to accept the quest?”

“Yes, please.” My protector handed over her guild card, while I took out the money. I managed to get a glimpse of Laes guild card.
