024 - A Bandit’s Treasure
After we had left the dungeon town, we continued travelling uneventfully for quite a while.
I had on some normal clothes again, even if the two gorgeous dresses I had ‘borrowed’ seemed extremely sturdy.
The new underwear I kept though, as it was infinitely more comfortable riding with them.
Laerissa, and Shelica, who had slept in the same room as me were quite embarrassed by the panties tough, and they unsuccessfully wanted me to throw those ‘insane’ undergarments away, while refusing to try them themselves.
Thus we continued our journey, having fun together and often travelling as escorts for caravans so that they could earn some more money.
Rodrick had been very apologetic at first, but when he noticed I didn’t really care that much about his attacks, he opened up more and more and assumed an far too overprotective role.
Bandits approaching me during their attacks were instantly shot down by his arrows, and I was actually very glad he was so accurate, because revealing my magic would not have ended nicely.
Life and light, but especially their mixture holy magic was something only used by monsters or spies in the demon lands.
The most interesting thing that had happened to our group was when we were attacked by bandits while travelling alone.
The twenty or so enemies were quickly killed by magic and arrows, but noticing the quality of their weapons we started to search for their hideout.
Finding it was easy with magic, and we quickly arrived at the opening of a cave.
The door barring our way was kicked in by Laerissa before Niishan could use the key he pocketed from the killed bandits, and we stared into a small corridor leading downwards.
Summoned flames brightened our path as we continued down, me following behind Rodrick as the last person.
Behind another destroyed door we found a dark room, with a few slaves chained onto crude beds and a big chest standing next to shelves filled with food.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
We, of course, looted the place, and freed the slaves from their shackles, and acquired far too many good weapons we couldn’t carry normally. The bandits probably robbed a weapon merchant recently.
The most important loot was found by me though: curious about hidden treasures I made my way through the bandit’s beds, searching for hidden coins, but what I found was far better, and managed to brighten up our day filled with violence: an old bag.
Being not any old bag, this inconspicuous, worn leather bag disguised as a poor merchants spare coin bag was a dimensional pocket. While not rare, these products were quite expensive because of their great usability.
And this one was even better!
While not capable of carrying more that three cubic meters the fabric and embroidery used made it obviously a female merchants bag, and as such had always barely any weight.
Sexism at its best, I was actually glad to be called the ‘weak gender’ for once, as this enchantment would allow me to carry heavy burdens I would not have been able to otherwise.
Shelica and Lae, but even Rodrick looked at my find with envy, as such weight reduction was hard to find and extremely expensive.
Only Niishan didn’t look at it with greed while I pocketed some of the otherwise abandoned weapons, so I suspected he already had a similar or better bag - not that I would have asked.
Inside the bag I also found quite some money and a richly decorated sword that was stuck inside a stone. Useless.
We soon continued on our way, selling the swords at the next town we came through.
