again magic
I was again woken up by being lifted off the saddle, but this time I was not dropped.
In comparison to the day before they looked at me with a bit more envy and respect, but also with much more fear and reluctance, so I quickly made my way to a nearby nice place to try out magic.
This time I wanted to make something that could function as weapon or shield, maybe both.
The first thing that came into my mind was a laser sword from the old star wars movies, but I soon discarded that Idea. Those things should be something like plasma caught in a magnetic field, and I can’t manipulate any of those two.
The next thing would be a Ironman-suit, but actually making something like this in the heat of battle or hiding it while not using it were impossible even for me.
So I tried out a classic: forming a shield from pure energy, or in my case, mainly arcane magic with a bit of light to make it visible. That one worked out well, a bright golden mass of energy accumulated in front of me within moments after I released my mana. After throwing some pebbles lying around against it, I decided I needed to invent an attack-type spell to test this thing.
So I tried out telekinesis. Because it was connected to arcane affinity, I could easily make hundreds of stones float around, but shooting them was a bit difficult. Only with imagining them as bullets i could make them reach high enough speeds that I was satisfied, but they still needed some seconds spin-up time to make, so I only used them against my shield and then threw the idea away.
My Shield held against that stone bullet easily, so I saw not much need to improve it for now.
The next idea I had were needles formed by arcane mana and actually throwing them while infusing them with light mana to give them the speed-properties of light and therefore accelerating them to unimaginable speeds.
It worked well, or a bit too well...
Poor mountain on the edge of the horizon, I will forever miss you.
The mana that had accumulated in my hand had reached sonic speed a few meters away from me, then accelerating even more, creating a vacuum behind it and an area of extremely heated air in front of it, before it crashed into the side of the mountain. When the glowing hot air hit the rock, it immediately evaporated it, then the vacuum that came behind the needle sucked on the rest of the mountain, making it collapse.
By trying to see more clearly I had midway somehow used light and life mana to increase the abilities of my eyes and brain, so that I could see well enough...or that was what I concluded after inspecting the changes I had made instinctively.
But through that I noticed how weak my body really was. I could not move like I wanted any more, the wind resistance and mass inertia was too much for my underdeveloped muscles.
Well, at least now I could react fast enough with magic, if I were to see the attack coming.

After a bit of experimenting with my mana needles I concluded that the force behind these projectles were not that much, if it would hit within a few meters, only capable of puncturing a few trees, uprooting the first, or sometimes the second one too.
This meant that I could use them inside the dungeon without having to worry about collapsing the structure… or at least I hoped so.
Then, I would need something non-lethal against people I wouldn’t want to hurt.
A bunch of chains, made from the same mana-concept like the shield should work, so I immediately tried them very successfully against trees, and not so successfully against birds. Those were far too fast.
Note: Use those against incapacitated, slow or predictable opponents.
Afterwards I didn’t know what to do anymore, so I tried creating numerous amounts of butterflys made from different colored light, letting them fly through the air, swarming people and impeding sights.
Or, in other words, a more beautiful smokebomb.
I even could see what they were seeing, as the were somewhat alive due to the infused life mana.
I played around with these the rest of the night while thinking about my current position.
Traveling in such a silence was annoying and depressing. Nothing anybody would want to do.
So, if nothing would change until we would reach the dungeon, I decided to do something drastic, that would either open their eyes that I still, even counting my previous life, was just a child, or that I would never see them again and travel alone, what would be much more relaxing and fun, even if I would have to ask for the way.
With those thoughts I made my way back to the camp.
Like the day before I was just right for setting off, but this time I stayed awake for the whole day.
Since no one spoke, and those few, awkward tries of the unsocial me initiating a conversation were ignored, nothing really happened along the way on that day.
The next few days were as boring and awkward as this one, and during the nights I trained myself to be able to use my magic faster and stronger.
And then that one sentence was said by me one day, a few days travel away from the dungeon town, that changed the situation….

there, a chapter with a sort of cliffhanger
I just wrote this one because I didn’t want to learn…..I’m sure it was a bad decision, but at least you are happy XP
@Slaggedfire: you just cannot accept the truth
@Alaster: your not wrong, but… yeah, I’ll just do that
